Victor and the rest of their guards surrounded the band of cutthroats. Their gleaming armor a beacon as they, themselves, readied their weapons. Alayna breathed a sigh of relief at the sight, knowing that their cousin would take care of this nuisance.

She quickly stood up to answer. “I came in to awaken you, my Lord, but it seems you are already awake.”
“Sir! Enemy contact! While we were holding position around the filthy human’s castle, a new enemy force numbering around four thousand appeared and surrounded us! They’re slaughtering our rearguard and cutting off our routes of retreat!”
"I did not know you would be coming!" Sophia said. Her voice was only loud enough to
Again, another backhand cuts me off. Pain stinging through my cheek does not stop me from speaking. I snap my dark eyes back at Stonewood. “You know I’m right and you hate it. It’s only the matter of time before the Order screws you over and leaves you for dead.”
The Shaman clawed and growled at the remaining tardocs, pushing them together. "Get her into the cave!" Its claws slashed the muzzle of one of the attackers.

All three looked in the direction of the assault as another one sored through the air to strike Aric in the face. He took a step back, sputtering while he clawed at his face. Fynta’s eyes fell on the culprits a second before Jorgan’s. “You two better run,” she suggested calmly, folding her arms over her chest.
