The TV show Girl Meets World in the episode “Girl Meets Rule” covers the topic that people need rules to be civilized. It is also told that at times it can be OK to let be boisterous at the appropriate time. Rules are a good thing, but too many rules can lead to too much unhappiness and despair. With no rules things can turn out of control and lead to catastrophe. It's good to maintain a balance between having fun, and having rules because there is a place and time for everything.
The episode “Girl Meets Rule” shows that Riley and Maya need each other to make each other better people. Riley needs Maya to learn how to loosen up and not be so indulged in many rules. Maya also needs Riley to learn there is a time and a place for everything and to be a little more responsible for her actions. A balance between our actions is what makes us better people in life, as to show that we can be responsible but loosen ourselves at the right time. Others believe that it is incompetent to be a responsible person or a boisterous person, but in fact a person can be both. If society had too many rules people would go against the rules and probably

Any sort of above average skill is banned because it is believed it makes people sad or unhappy. But having Handicaps makes the situation worse as everyone is unhappy and try to go against this rule. With many rules in their world this society does not even know why because rules are just everywhere that they do not notice. Harrison Bergeron tried to go against the rules by taking off his handicaps and inspiring others to do the same. Going against the rules is not bad, but the people who enforce those rules didn't agree and Harrison was killed just by doing something so little. But no rules still doesn't fix anything because if a world had no rules it would turn into a catastrophe as described in “the lord of the
1.The hidden girl was a story about a girl named Shyima Hall. She was born into a poor family and Shyima was the seventh child. A year later her family sold her into slavery in Egypt. While she was there she worked for most of the day and into the night waiting hand and foot for the rich family. Later when suspicion rose they moved to California and Shyima continued to take care of the family. She had to cook, clean and babysit the two younger boys. For example she had to sit on a bench while the two boys played on the playground. She was only a couple years older but she sat there because she didn’t want to get in trouble. Eventually a neighbor noticed and she was rescued by the Child Protection Services.
Norms in society are the expectations of actions in specific situations. Social norms keep human social relations and behavior stable. Norms are “rules” that have developed within a particular society taking into account its values, culture and way of living. Sometimes, it is even the case that individuals do not have a choice and rarely recognize that fact that social norms have arbitrary origins because they have experienced this during the ongoing process of living (Clinard and Meyer 2011:10). Thus, gender norms are sometimes seen as limiting, disenfranchising and oppressive. People who are in less-favored or less-accepted norms are sometimes pushed to “deviate” from the norm in order to achieve some form of “liberation” from their
The film that I chose to write about is a Paramount Pictures presentation titled Mean Girls, starring Lindsay Lohan and also featuring a handful of Saturday Night Live cast members, including Tina Fey the author of this picture. The reason behind choosing this film is because it has a unique style of introducing characters, transitioning between scenes, and various tools to help spice up the film. Being one of my personal favorites, Mean Girls is a comedy about a home schooled teenage girl who enters high school for the first time. She tries to figure herself out by where she can fit in and who she needs to become friends with.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America is a program that was introduced in the 1860’s in Hartford Connecticut. “Believing that boys who roamed the streets should have a positive alternative, they organized the first Club. A cause was born.” Now made up of more than 4,300 clubs and in their 103rd year, the goal of these clubs is “to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”
With rules and regulations, discipline would not be ale to be enforced as well. Rules create boundaries for people, which some people do prefer as it brings order to the world, and keeps everything under control.
Whether one realizes it or not, the world we live in is governed by certain expectations and unwritten rules that our society creates. These expected behaviors are called norms. When one establishes the role that they play in society, they are governed by the expectations that society places on that specific role. Norms give order to a society, but is that enough to say that they are good for citizens? Are these norms needed to govern our behavior in a way that our government cannot? Social norms and the effect that they can have on a person or group of people is shown through Shakespeare's The Tempest. The characters in The Tempest are negatively affected by the unwritten social norms that they are expected to follow, and today these
It is in the public’s interest to maintain a predictable standard of acceptable behavior. Without such a standard, society will fall into chaos.
Opposing views may also claim the handicaps kept people from performing their best, however the handicaps helped some people to become better at their ability. Harrison wears many handicaps and some help him get stronger. His handicaps over time made him grow stronger and they are like a part of him. He grew so strong he ripped metal guaranteed to hold 5,000 pounds. The ballerina wasn’t very good with her weights on, but they helped her grow stronger and

In a nation where segregation of two different sexes are strictly enforced, Afghan boys are seen has family’s most prized possession whereas girls are bounded by societal rules and culture that prevents them from having the most basic freedom such as running errands, playing outside the house and determining their own future.
I am at ease with such rules as maintaining close relationships with my family and friends, striving for best, having specific goals in my life, being in time for classes and
The need of rules and order is applied in Lord of the Flies when Ralph and Piggy are arguing with the boys about “which is better- to have rules and agree, or to hunt or kill” (Golding 200-207). The other boys would ultimately choose to “hunt and kill” instead of order which created an environment that was not safe or productive. Choosing rules and order would have provided the boys with a more safe and compatible atmosphere. Humans need rules because without them, “a state of chaos becomes present because everyone operates according to their own

Sexism is categorized by extreme cases, but when in reality, both female and male parties execute sexism everyday even in the simplest forms. Though women tend to receive more grieve when it comes to sexist acts or sexist slurs made by men, the level of sexist disputes has decreases drastically with time.
