“Yay! It’s birthday time!” I say as I get up from my bed of rocks. As I make my way out of my room Nuri, my brother, is waiting outside by my room entrance with a big smile on his face. “Hey Kai how does it feel to finally be 21, I remember when I turned 21 that was 20 years ago.””Good morning to you brother and it feels great. Now I can do the impossible things I wasn’t able to do before,” I said. Nuri responded,” Do you think you’re ready for our family tradition”. I responded, “Nuri, I have been waiting since I learned how to fly.” Nuri chuckled, ”Go eat your breakfast you’re gonna have a long day today” Without another thought I ran straight to the fire outside of the cave Nuri made me my favorite breakfast. “Smoked Deer!!!” I …show more content…
As I start to wake up I feel my head pounding. My senses soon wake up to a cold stone floor. I notice I 'm in a cell with bars letting in the only light from a glowing shape on the ceiling. I start to panic as I hear a girl 's voice saying,” Don’t panic it’ll only make the situation much worse. I’m Inferno by the way what’s your name?” End of the first part? I am awakened by the howling wind, I hear a heavenly storm raging outside my Obsidian cave. I gladly get up and go out of my delectable cave and savor the feeling of the heavy droplets of heaven fall on my silky soft hide. I close my eyes to devour the feeling but as soon as I close my eyes I hear the loud clap of thunder and lightning flashes down by me, and I run for a better spot to view the sky as soon as I get to an empty clearing I lay down on the velvety soft grass and closed my eyes once more to devour the godly sounds of the storm, as I lay there for a few minutes I feel a sharp pain in my hind quarters, I see this wolf trying to bite my leg off, so I kick him off and attack him. I use my front legs to try and kick him off balance. He quickly dodges out of the way. I have to use the only thing that may give me a good meal tonight even if it hurts for a bit. I start to let my emotions get the better of me. I let my anger
Hunting is very valuable to me, but the value is deeper than just hunting. There are so many aspects of hunting that I love. But I cherish my bow above all of them. Having my bow with me when I’m in the stand or when I’m at my neighbor’s house practicing, gives me a since of dominance. Also brings me pride knowing I’ve worked hard and stayed committed to something I truly love. There are all kinds of animals to hunt and different ways to hunt them. My favorite type of animal to hunt, is the white tail deer. While hunting the allusive deer I like to follow a code of ethics, which a lot of people don’t follow. Even though I would have liked to be given all my hunting needs, I’m proud of myself for going out and getting those needs by myself. Buying my bow and getting into bow hunting, caused me to take responsibility and taught me to stay committed to a true value in my life.
Many people think of the bahamas, or a five star hotel when a vacation is mentioned, however that is not true for all. For those who enjoy the outdoors and nature, a nice hunting trip speak more to them. Hunting has been seen in our culture for centuries as a way of reconnecting with nature, and in todays world with the lack of predators it is used to keep nature in balance, as well as keeping in touch with our ancestral traditions.
One morning, a baby deer awoke to the unusual sounds of a foreign forest, it’s curiosity hit him. The fawn sat up in confusement to find himself surrounded by an unusual forest with small eyes staring at him from behind the bushes. He was quite confused on why he wasn’t at home, he looked around and glanced at the glaring green eyes shining from the bushes nearby. The fawn got up on it’s weak hind legs, and walked along the dusty, old path. He was unsure on why there were so many eyes on him, and how he had gotten here. The youngin heard booming footsteps approaching him, he saw a dark, yet gleaming shine of light speeding towards him.
Many people have misconceptions about hunting. One such misconception is that hunting is easy and any person can go sit in the woods and wait for an animal to cross the hunter’s path. However, people who believe this are sorely mistaken. Hunting is not just sitting in the woods with a rifle; there are many other aspects that must be considered. An individual must have all preparations complete, purchase or gather the equipment needed, and know what to listen for while in the woods.
Would you ever want to kill someone because they are valuable and famous? No right? Well that's what is happening to animals and some people are just having to pay $500, don’t you think there should be more? According to Star Tribune the only punishment for killing deer when it is not deer season is only $500. That's not enough for killing animals and making the become endangered. Therefore, there should be a bigger consequence for poaching for because it leads to endangerment of animals and animals should not be used to make things that we want.
The third Saturday of November was one filled with conflicting emotions: excitement, fear, optimism, and nervousness. The screeching sound of the alarm at 4:00 a.m. initiated a sense of panic and thrill throughout me; it was the opening day of the gun deer hunting season. Within minutes, I was dressed from head to toe in bright, blaze orange that could be recognized from miles away. I reluctantly, yet willingly, climbed into the truck to head to the hunting land in Adams County, Wisconsin. My stomach felt like it was tied into knots. My mind was again flooded with conflicting emotions. I began to wonder: will I get a deer? Will I not get a deer? Will I get a buck?
After I had finished my meal I continued getting ready. In doing so I put on the remainder of my clothes, my sweatshirt and hunting pants came next followed by my wool socks and winter hunting boots. Next I checked to make sure my backpack was ready and had all the essentials in it in case something were to happen. Lastly I grabbed my already loaded sleek black shotgun and put on my heaving winter coat, hats and gloves. Now I was ready to begin my hunt.
There is no other big-game animal in North America like the white-tailed deer. The whitetails habitat is so widespread that it covers just about all of North America and parts of Central America. The white-tailed deer is the most commonly hunted big game animal ever. Before the settlers arrived, an estimated 30 million whitetails inhabited what is now the United States and Canada. But as settlers pursued them for food and market hunters slaughtered them with snares, traps, and set guns, the deer population underwent a disastrous decline. By 1900, only 400,000 whitetails remained.
Wouldn’t someone want the right to rifle hunt in Iowa if they a had rifle? Many hunters in the State of Iowa own rifles and can’t use them due to the DNR regulations/laws for rifle hunting. Although rifle hunting in Iowa is illegal, the hunters of Iowa should be able to use rifles because many hunters have them, it’s a more convenient way to hunt, and it’s a cheaper way of hunting.
To have a safe and enjoyable road trip, an individual needs to pay attention to animals who may cross the road, have bright lights on for safety in heavily populated deer country, and get attention if injured, so that more injuries do not occur. Keeping people safe from car casualties or injuries due to deer overpopulation is important. According to an article on deer collisions, “Cars and deer can be a lethal combination” (“Car and Deer”). This is evidence that deer crossing the road and hitting cars could be dangerous. Also the article states, “Deer migration and mating season generally runs from October through December, and causes a dramatic increase in the movement of the deer population” (“Car and Deer”).
Obviously, no one is taking 200 yard shots with even the most powerful crossbow, so long range capability isn't a concern while bow hunting. Now it may be a big concern to the bow hunter who also uses a rifle (or even just plays golf, but that's another topic). But just focusing on the act of bow hunting, the typical 100 yard range limit of most dedicated bow hunting range finders would be fine.
White-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) have historical significance throughout the state of Ohio. Ohio’s ancient civilizations relied heavily on white-tailed deer for food, tools, and clothing. Deer were attracted to the region because of the agricultural practices of Native Americans such as growing corn and the prevalence of hard mast . The population of white-tailed deer was healthy prior to European settlement, as predators such as the North American cougar (Puma concolor), eastern timber wolf (Canis lupus lycaon), and native americans kept the population under control. There are an estimated 500,000 white-tailed deer in Ohio, the species can be found in all 88 counties. Populations today are managed by a regulated hunting season. (Hulbert 1910) The objective of the study is to determine the age, sex, and distinguishing characteristics of white-tailed deer that are in both areas
Have you ever wanted to go hunting in the summer when you are free of work and activities? Is it a problem that you would be interested in to change? I would like to change this law so I could go hunting when I am able to. Deer season all year round is important to all the hunters and wannabe hunter. I want to change the law that you can only hunt in one season because it is making deer being overpopulated, It would let people who are busy during the season hunt, and It would make deer meat sell more at restaurants. The first issue is that deer are becoming very overpopulated.
INTRO: I never thought I would feel so awful after pulling that trigger and watching that innocent animal give it’s life to me. I was only ten years old and my life was certainly impacted forever. Nowadays, many people think that pulling the trigger of a gun is not hard at all. In reality, it might be pretty easy. It is the aftermath on the other hand that will leave an internal scar, changing a person forever. On my first deer hunt, a young buck stepped out of the dense willow clusters with it’s head down, giving me a shot. Soon I would be faced with the tough decision of taking the life of an innocent animal. Meanwhile, on my first turkey hunt, there too I would soon be changed forever.
