Every Friday night for the last six months, Roger and Gordon had their weekly date night. They had agreed all those months ago that they needed at least one day a week to themselves, to be a couple and not have to worry about anything else. For Gordon, that meant no talking about his music, for Roger, it meant no answering work emails every ten seconds. The two had made compromises, laying the ground rules early to prevent squabbling. They had agreed that they needed some disconnect, a time for just them, where they wouldn't argue about work or life or being a responsible adult. They could just be Gordon and Roger, and it was simple as that.
Of course, there were some slip ups. It took a few weeks before Roger could fully convince his

They both silently agreed that lavish was not needed, neither was trying to impress the other, it was simply a night to unwind. However, when it came time for Roger to choose the location of their next date, Gordon was surprised to find it was a fancy restaurant on the Upper East Side.
"And why are we going there?" Gordon was reclined on the couch, his head in Roger's lap, barely paying attention to the movie they were watching.
Roger's fingers twirled around in Gordon's hair, playing with it gently as he watched on with the action on the screen, "I thought it'd be a nice change of scenery. My boss suggested the place to me and it sounded nice. I told her we weren't really too interested, but she insisted, said she'd even cover the tab."
"Oh," Gordon hummed thoughtfully, "well that was nice of her." With that, the subject was dropped and not thought of again until the night of their date.
The two men prepared for their evening in their shared bedroom, helping the other with their tie or their collar. Gordon didn't really see the need to get all dressed up, it's not like he was looking to impress anyone in the restaurant, but he quietly played along for Roger's sake. "You look ravishing," Roger said as he straightened out Gordon's collar.
Gordon blushed a touch under the praise of his lover. He was never one to accept a compliment quickly, but whenever Roger's familiar and warm voice offered one, it was hard for Gordon to deny it.

Most people go through life not worrying about others thoughts, just throwing stereotypes around without any justification or knowledge of the person being alienated. Some are ungrateful for the religious freedom that most of us are able to carry. Some do not realize the fight that people went through over 300 years ago to gain religious freedom and work through and around the profiling given by the hierarchy of society. No one worked harder for the freedoms to be provided and stereotypes to be dissolved than Roger Williams, the founder of Rhode Island. Williams, born in London in 1603, was a seasoned young man early on, after witnessing many burnings at the stake of puritans for being "heretics" and not following the religion of the
Roger Sherman is someone that you may say is the forgotten founding father, so let’s change that. Roger Sherman was a very influential politician and lawyer, being admired by some of greatest and brightest men of this time.
Many people think, blacks cannot do many things, they do not have the same rights white do. Some people, even after the segregation times are over, still have in their mind “blacks stink”. Many are also racist about women and girls. They say women cannot achieve as many goals as a man. Well let me be the first to tell you. This is wrong. No matter what skin color you have or what gender you are; you can still accomplish many goals. An individual I know that goes by the name of Roger Arliner Young, is a woman and a black. She was a hardworking woman born 1889 in the town of Clifton Forge. Throughout her life, she faced a set of difficulties that threw her so far from success in her life. Mrs. Young after graduating even became a zoologist and
“What else have you got in there?” Hector asked, genuine curiosity lacing his voice as he placed the glasses back down on the desk.
This course has taught me that an argument will be most effective when both sides are presented to the reader. It is not enough to persuade the reader to agree with the opinion of the writer by only presenting evidence that proves his/her view point. Every person will have their own personal opinions on a topic. Most of the time there is no definite answer as to whether or not they are right or wrong.
The Rogerian Approach of argument is a very diplomatic way to fight your case. Approaching an argument is very delicate because you need to appeal to your audience’s ethos, pathos, and logos. Without successfully appealing to your audience, you will be unable to effectively argue your position rationally. This is an absolute necessity because no one wants to fight a battle that is already lost. It is possible to use another argumentative approach, but the Rogerian is an easier way to fulfill the audience’s logical and emotional appeals as well as making your argument credible.
Carver begins with the story?s conflict, a relationship between a man and woman that has already gone extremely wrong. He does not need to tell the reader why or how this relationship came to this point. Carver relies on the reader to know the usual reasons that cause people to split up. Therefore, this gives readers the opportunity to attach their own explanation. As the title, ?Popular Mechanics? implies, it is the common workings of relationships that can be applied throughout this story.
“Oh come on, you’ll be living here. Also, what do you do for a living?” He changed the topic. He had always been into girls who made money. He wasn’t much for personality, I guess.
Roger Davidson discussed his concepts of constitutional arrangements, the legislative presidency, the elements of coalition building, and patterns of inter-branch control. In regards to constitutional arrangements, Rogers argues that the constitution’s writers devoted Article 1 to the legislative branch. Congress is granted an awesome array of powers, embracing most of the government functions known to 18th century thinkers. Rogers sates that congress’s prerogatives embrace the historic parliamentary power of the purse in addition to sweeping supervision over money and currency, interstate and foreign commerce and defense policies, traditional prerogatives of the crown. Additionally, congress is charged with declaring War, ratifying treaties,
In human history, there has been at least one war between two or more parties for every five centuries or so. These wars are caused by people turning to their natural instincts in order to gain power and be the ultimate leader to survive. The people who start these wars are not under societal influence anymore because they start going against what they have been taught their whole lives of how they should be moral and make peace with others without the means of violence. In the novel Lord of the Flies, William Golding writes about a group of boys who have been stranded on an island due to a plane crash, which was supposed to be a rescue mission for the children to escape from the Cold War that was going on. In the beginning, the civil and pacific
This piece is originally written for an iconic 20th-century tuba virtuoso Roger Bobo in December 1966 while they both, Roger Bobo and William Kraft, took a position with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. ENCOUNTER II for Solo Tuba is a member of Williams Kraft’s Encounter series. This piece contains many extremely difficult techniques for tuba such as an extremely wide range of the instrument, a complicated dissonant jump intervals, multiphonics, glissandi, and rapid half-valves technique. Those techniques are big development and challenge to the tuba players. Moreover, these document also an expectation to the wider more multitudinous genre of music.
Religion, whether we realize it or not, is a major element of American society (and also worldwide history). For many, religion is a significant part of their cultural identity. Religion plays a part in all levels of politics and is often an aspect of community events and organizations. Everyday, we all interact with people who have different religious backgrounds and personal beliefs. Children born into religious families are very connected with their religions from birth and this affects the way they will see the world for the rest of their lives. Even those who later explore other faiths or convert to other religious ideas will be affected in
“Do you remember the sign on the green barrel, the name of the nearby city. Well, most of the production is going there, and I guess why. There is a lot of attention around those barrels.”
Some would say that Roger hasn’t changed at all and he is still a thief albeit a starting one, but one nonetheless. To this they are wrong. As shown, he stopped himself from leaving the house even when given several opportunities to run off. At one point he was thinking about it but sat himself in range of Mrs. Jones sight. This was so, if she wanted, to keep an eye on him she could because he didn’t want to be distrusted by her anymore. This is why theories that say Roger hasn’t changed are incorrect.
The expression argument has two meanings in scholarly writing. First, it means a composition that takes a position on one side of a divisive issue. You might write an argument against the death penalty, or for or against censorship of pornography. But argument has another meaning, too. It means an essay that, simply, argues a point. You might assemble an argument about the significance of ancestor myths in a certain aborigine culture, or you might write an argument defending your understanding of any poem or essay that is read in your philosophy class. (Winthrop University) You are not necessarily taking one side of a divisive issue, but you are required to defend your points with credible evidence. You are taking a position. In a sense,
