Vacations can be fun for most, but awful for others. For me it was the latter of the two options. My family decided that we would visit the Turkey Run Park for a vacation over the summer. Turkey Run is full of trails, formations of rock, streams, waterfalls, plants, and animals who may or may not be hostile. All of these things were present during my eventful trip to Turkey Run. It was a very humid day when we set out early in the morning for Turkey Run. In fact, it was in the high eighties by the time nine o’clock had rolled around. We were all ready to do some hiking and nature observing. We drove up to the poll and payed the fee to get in the park. We were all so excited, because we had heard all about how much fun we would have and how
When you first think of a family vacation, what do you think? An amusement park? Good choice, but think about the long lines and the unnatural feeling of it! If you want to really feel like you're in a different world, try Goblin Valley state park.
I have recently shot my first turkey with a Winchester SXP. It was a great rush. With your ammunition and the gun, and it a smoked the turkey at about 25 yards. No other shots were needed. This year I also plan on buying the SX3 model. I have researched it and I would probably buy the field Super X3. I would want the Super X4 but I don't have the money for it. I really like the wood on the design of the Field version. I would also use the duck blind camo, but it wouldn't be a gun that you would hunt much other things with. The gun I would buy would probably be a trap/skeet, a deer, duck, and turkey gun. The Super XP is a nice gun, but it is my brothers and I want to have a good semi-automatic.
I'm doing well and I had a relaxing Thanksgiving break. I hope your break was good as well.
I can’t believe my first college semester is almost over. Key word is “almost” because the weeks following thanksgiving break will be critical for me. Even though it’s almost over, I must finish strong. I wouldn’t want all my hard work to go to waste. All the A’s that I earned so far must remain A’s for me in order for me to be happy with my academic performance. These next 3 weeks are going to be hectic, but also relaxing.
When the word vacation is mentioned, most people think of leisure and relaxation, but for some, vacation is a time for living on the edge. If you are the latter, and are looking for a serious adrenaline pump, here is a list of five heart racing, adventure packed vacation ideas, perfect for any thrill seeker.
The morning of the hunt, we bundled up to keep warm because the temperature was below freezing. The cold wind felt like needles as it whistled past our faces. The ground was covered in ice, and crunched every time we took a step. We marched through field after field without seeing a single bird. As lunchtime approached, my stomach began to growl over the rustling of the milo
Today I want to talk about my Thanksgiving break. During that I did several things. First of all, I want to Nebraska Lincoln to get my admission from there also to see the city and to know some things about it. In addition, it is a town in my opinion it is bigger a little bit than Urbana-Champaign. It has many nice restaurants and some places to have fun. They have a great union and bookstore which are best places for me to study. People there are polite and kind they helped me to find an apartment to live when I go there. Even though it still quite like Urbana-Champaign. Also the weather is cold like here in Urbana-Champaign and people told me that during the winter there is a lot of snow. The second is, in my way back to Urbana-Champaign
Once I arrived at the park, I breathed in the fresh air around me and took it all in. The air was cool and salty from the Atlantic ocean, and the trees were a stunning shade of orange this autumn. I could hear the waves crashing against the shore and leaves crunching beneath my feet. An ice cold wind whipped my hair, and I was glad I wore warm clothes. I made a beeline
After you choose your destination the next thing you must do is reserve your airfare and hotel. This may be tough because there are many websites and travel agents that you can go through. I have found that it is cheaper and easier to go through Expedia.com. You can book your hotel and flight all together and pay one low price. I have also found that flying with Southwest Airlines is very cheap and they have many one way stops all across the country and for a cheap hotel that is very nice I recommend the Extended Stay America.
The only sound that filled my ears was my keyboard clicking as my fingers raced across it. I had been procrastinating from finishing this assignment all evening, but I knew I needed to get it done. The burning sunset was shining through the windows as I was finishing up. It was a peaceful silence, until I heard the soft whispers of my parents that ignited my sense of curiosity. I was concentrating hard; doing my best trying to make out the hushed words that were being spoken.

Spending quality time with family is one of my favorite childhood memories, whether it was spending time outdoors, playing ping pong, or watching a movie. My most meaningful family memory came from our vacation to Colorado back in 2004; yes, 2004. Although I don’t remember all of the events that transpired, I’m able to recall most of the memorable events that took place. It was a cool, misty morning in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and I could distinctly hear the unmistakable elk calls that echoed through the mountains. The breeze gently scraped my face as I got into the car to begin the first day of our family vacation in Colorado. I could hear the car tires gently humming on the road during this cool, foggy, Colorado morning. As I looked past the lanky pine trees, glistening drops of dew formed on the tall grass, dancing with the wind. As we moved further down the road, I could see the tip of the sun barely begin to peek over the steep, snowy mountain peaks; however, the sun was soon covered by the misty Colorado clouds. This was it: our family vacation!
For the last few months, I had been passing through a nightmare. The spectra of the examination haunted my days. Now it is over, I have returned to my village home, with a heavy load off my mind, and with the intense relief that it has brought me, there has come to me something else, - not a nightmare, but a problem. How indeed am I going to pass this long, long vacation?
As far has holidays go, the Navy likes to celebrate them early to gather everyone together before we each take leave (vacation time). They were throwing a holiday party in early December. I’m new. I want to meet more people. I want to win a prize. So, I buy tickets. Me and a few of my friends are going to go if for no other reason than to maybe win a new xBox. The party itself was fun. We got to see everyone outside of their uniform which may surprise you. I, on the other hand, was less focused on people and more on extending these festivities. One of my friends that I work with invites me to a house party. I walk in the house. There’s music being played off someone’s iPhone, an indoor and outdoor beer pong table, shot glasses sticky with the aftermath of drunk toast with strangers, and a shit ton of people. I find my friend, ECK, and he hugs me with a beer pong ball in his hand. “There’s someone I want to introduce you to.” He guides me towards the couch. “This is Kyle,” he points. I take one look at Kyle and turn into a puddle of mush. He gets up to shake my hand, but I just hug him instead. What can I say…I’m a hugger. We both nervously laugh and I force myself to walk away. People approach me to say hello and catch up on work, but something about our innocent conversations and actually seeing him has me peering over people to see what he’s doing.
Going on vacation is a way to relax, reduce stress, and spend time with my family. The different cultures, places, and laughs that we experience on vacations are truly memorable. When I was younger, my sister and I would take vacations with my grandparents. On these road trips, we would go hiking, go to water parks, and have picnics. On every trip, either someone was embarrassed or injured. When I was 8 or 9 years old, I was afraid that my grandpa was seriously hurt on one of our trips. Ultimately, on most of our adventures, we all had a laugh and a good time. Although it’s important to take vacations and trips with my family, we should remember to be safe and smart, have a good time, and make vacations memorable.
