The illness had taken everything from them, their homes and families no one knows the cure or the reason it came. The blamed it on witches and burned some of the women, but that only spread the disease by air. Children were forced out of town with masks full of natural herbs and flowers. The children made groups that would fight and try to be the biggest. Some of the groups were violent, while others tried to help. Club Warlock, is the most violent and horrible group. Steve, Richard, George, and Erin were Club Wave and created many things including shelter for other clubs. Soon after one week away from the town, the children got tired of living on their own and became homesick only a few kids had ever seen the disease in action, but the …show more content…
“A castle, a castle everyone and there is a railroad tracks,” the entirety of the kids came to the scene to find a huge castle in the distance, and railroad tracks leading up to it. No car to travel and the tracks look to be about thirty miles long. “There is no use the track is too long and we don’t have a vehicle to drive on these old tracks and we can’t make one because we have no supplies.” the leader of the Wolf Club announced. “Look!” George said as a shiny lights danced around in the castle towers “What if witches really did start this and are doing it from afar. We could save our village, come on we must find a way to help. It has to be done.” George’s face turned to gloomy to excited and serious he started to give ideas to everyone, who did not take him seriously. He started to make a building design for a train car powered by wind. Blood started to get in his head and he felt powerful like nothing could stop him, but then it did, a writer’s block that stole his ideas like the virus stole his family. After hours and hours of designing a vehicle that would transport 4 people on a railroad track using a sail like a sailboat. He would have to find an old sailboat and take that apart he knew that some intake sailboats were in the dock but getting wood from those would be hard. The broken ones i can get the wood from and i can get the sail from an intact one he thought to himself and set out to the docks.
“I got up and pretended to study the pictures on the walls like I was a lover of religious art. When I got to the Merciful Mother right above Sinita’s head, I reached in my pocket and pulled out the bottom I’d found on the train. It was sparkly like a diamond and had a little hole in back so you could thread a ribbon through it and wear it like a romantic lady’s choker necklace. It wasn’t something I’d do, but I could see the button would make a good trade with someone inclined in that direction.
The arguments I choose to assess for truth and validity will be three statements taken from the Application's list 12.2 (a -y) at the end of Ch. 12, “The Art of Thinking” publication. I will start with the statement (j) the premise that "power must be evil because it can corrupt people." Checking the argument for any hidden premises and ensuring it is stated fully and in a clear concise way is the first step. This argument seems to pass the first hurdle, however after checking for errors affecting truth, the argument has flaws. Beginning with, the part of the argument that says power corrupts people is not true
Sally Dingo the author of Ernie Dingo the King of the Kids, positions us as we read through the book for us to feel almost we had known him all through his life, and that we are like mates toward him. we may feel sympathy for one of their beloved family member dies or admiration for Ernie’s sporting talents in basketball, he was usually called ‘show pony’.
“Attention, soldiers of the Continental army, the patriots of our colonies!” George Washington shouted, drawing attention to himself as he stood. The whispers along with mumbles stopped, every person bringing their attention to the general as he stood from top to bottom as well as proud. “I will explain quickly what the plan of action is before I separate you. One through five-thousand, you will be going with Lafayette, blocking their escape from Yorktown, waiting in the Chesapeake Bay! Alexander, I believe you had something to say to our people of the colonies?”
According to Henderson, “Historians of the new imperialism have tended to ignore the parallel histories of empire in nineteenth-century British North America”. He argues that in recent years, an increasing number of corresponding and connective histories have had the desire to locate early Canada as one site of an empire among others. He stresses how republicanism and a responsible government rely almost exclusively on published archival materials that have been used for a very long period (at least in Canada) by those who are interested in the history of the struggle for a responsible government.
While reading the story "Everyday Use" by Alice Walker, I found that I had a surprising amount of anger towards the character named Dee, or as she prefers Wangero. The anger that was instilled in me was caused by numerous comments and actions that occurred throughout reading the short story. I feel she was selfish, uneducated and unappreciative of her past and that the way she carried herself was ridiculous. Right from the beginning of my readings you are introduced to a character named Dee, before you ever get the opportunity to warm up to her character, she shows a very selfish characteristic and that trait is repeatedly brought out in the
During the Cold War, the United States increasingly felt the need to protect the Western hemisphere from the supposedly evil Soviet sphere of influence. The conflicting ideologies between the capitalist United States and the socialist Soviet Union served as a reason for the United States to intervene in Chilean politics. In the 1960s and 1970s, the United States CIA moved and coordinated campaigns against the spread of communism. Following Domino Theory, where a falling domino causes an entire row of dominoes to fall, the general belief was that if one country fell to communism, the neighboring countries surrounding it would also adopt a communist ideology. Fearful of a Marxist regime, the CIA sought to keep the popular Salvador Allende

If shown on the maps, how did the area change from the historic map to the modern map in terms of: The places since 1810 to 2017 have changed drastically. I like looking at the maps to really see where my ancestors lived. As I went through the maps you could see the counties change over the years and add more as the population grew. My relatives lived in Allegheny, Armstrong, Pennsylvania, United States in the 1810’s and through the 1850’s. This area is around Pittsburg, as you would see it today.
Despite how much we think we know about ourselves as people, can we say with one-hundred percent certainty that we know where we come from? We have the resources to determine our DNA origin. Researchers have found that in the oldest root of the female genetic family tree, every woman is found with the genetics of a woman named Scientific Eve and the men are found with the genetics of a man named Scientific Adam. This is the oldest DNA we have discovered which is about 6000 years ago but according to “The Tech Museum Of Innovation” these two people have lived longer up to 100,000 years ago. These two people originated from Africa. Researchers believe that humans left Africa between 60,000 and 200,000 years ago and migrated. These humans

The morning alarm went off for the first time in months. It was a foreign sound in the house, except on rare occasions. Jill pulled a pillow over her head taking advantage of the beloved Snooze feature. After the alarm sounded a second time her husband said, “Turn off the alarm”. She sat up, groggy, wondering why she made her dental appointment for this early in the morning. Her husband repeatedly told her not to make appointments before 10:00AM. She should have listened to him. She pulled her hair into a bun, grabbed her robe and headed for the coffee pot. She turned and looked at her husband sleeping peacefully. He can sleep through anything, she thought, except the alarm.
