Card sort
1. Description
Participants are given a set of cards or create their own cards with features or concepts related to the topic and organize the cards in various way.
2. Preparation
We asked our participants to make a list of study (including techniques, environment, items, distraction, etc.). We provided sticky nots and bullseye for them to organize their lists.
3. Execution
Participants brought their study lists in the beginning of the class and wrote them down to sticky notes that we provided and place on bullseye with the best at the center and the worse at the edges.
4. Result
Because of assigning study list as homework, participants had more time to think about their current study space and listed everything on it. …show more content…

Preparation
We prepared a short funny video for observing individual and we asked participants to bring their favorite funny video for group observation as homework.
3. Execution
Four participants were separate and sit apart for individual observation. Each researcher was responsible for one participant and observed their reactions to the funny video. After that, all participants gathered together and watched their favorite funny videos. One of the researcher was responsible to count the number of times they laugh.
4. Result
After comparing the data of two different observations. We figured out the result is the same as we assumed- People seems to laugh more in group.
5. Helpful hints
Recording video ensures the data is correct. Because researcher may miss something important and they can review the video again and again.
Group interview
1. Description
Group interview is get information from multiple participants at the same time. It allows participants to have discussion on the topic.
2. Preparation
We created a set of questions which are relevant to the previous activities.
3. Execution
We told our research topic in the beginning and started conversation based on the questions.
4. Result
The questions are all about what they think about the previous activities and compare the answers to their actual reactions during observation. The result proved that they all laugh more in group from both systematic observation and group interview.
