Communication is the transition of information and understanding through the use of common symbols. Communication has many different fields, but the one I am going to focus on in this essay is interpersonal communication.Interpersonal communication states the self-esteem interacts with three important interpersonal needs which affects our communication with others. Research into interpersonal communication theory typically focuses on the development, maintenance, and dissolution of relationships. I have chosen the (2004) teen film movie/ comedy movie Mean Girls, to portray interpersonal communication.The movie Mean Girls (2004) provides a dramatic example of the stereotypical “mean girls” in some high schools across America. Bringing the insight to a lavish lifestyle of four girls who control the high school.The movie shows the positives and negatives of engaging in effective or ineffective communication styles. The strongest interpersonal conflict theme presented in the film is power.By analyzing the various communication dynamics of friendships in the film, we can have a greater understanding of the components of interpersonal communication.
