I spoke to L.C last night when she got home as discussed. I informed her that there are repercussions for her actions. At this point there is not guarantee that she will remain at the residence. She said that this is new for her and she really wants to stay here. She said her girlfriend is one of the supportive people in her life and she don’t want to jeopardize this relationship. She is aware of her actions and would like to make it up to you. I asked her if she is having trouble with quitting from smoking and she told me yes. I asked her if she smoked, and she said yes. Based on my observation LC seems to be having issues with reasoning. It seems as if she is under a lot of pressure and tends to resort to smoking to help her cope. I made
We all observe things differently, what I may see other may not see. Our awareness varies from each other and we all percept things differently. Even if we look at the same thing I may notice things other may not. This is based on past experiences, interests, etc. This was very apparent while conducting my observation journal. I found myself noticing things more than I expected as the time progressed. I would pick out the smallest things and make conclusions based on them.
Naturalistic observation is a research technique involving the observation of people or objects in their natural environments to gather data. When performing a naturalistic observation, it is key for the researcher to remain unavowed to the subject, or the result of the data could be skewed. When conducting a naturalistic observation to study the exercise times of young adult males versus older adult males, a good place to make observations would be at a gym, a popular hiking trail, or in a populated city (ex: downtown Washington, D.C.) where there are large sidewalks and plenty of room for foot traffic. Next, determine the variables. The measurable variables would be determined by witnessing a subject perform some sort of exercise, or any act that raises the heart rate above its natural rhythm on purpose at different times of day (ex: bike riding, running or jogging, roller blading, weight lifting, swimming, etc.). A record is kept regarding the execution of the variables, and after spending a viable amount of time collecting data from the subjects, the results of the study can be concluded. A possible result of the study could be that it is more common for older adult males to exercise early in the morning, while it is more common for younger adult males to exercise late in the evening.
I noticed each time that I observed Addie she wanted to do art first, you can tell it is her favorite. She always took her time during these art projects and was very enthusiastic when creating them. Another personality trait I noticed was that she is not a follower but a leader. She always did what she wanted to do and never changed stations when her friends did. Addie was so happy with her painting, filling up the entire canvas that she said to the teacher “we are almost done come see.” Addie spent the most time at the art station and held the longest attention span out of the three children I observed. She never moved back and forth between different activities during short periods of time. I did notice Addie wanted the attention from the
My participant observation research project is on sex offenders. A few topics I would be interested in is different type of offenders, such as pedophilic and non-pedophilic. I know sex offending is horrible all together but I really hate when I hear about children and teens being hurt. My questions would be what causes their urge to offend children? How do they know the victim? How to help the offender?
I am currently on our school-wide data team that uses data to find trends within our school population. One trend that became readily apparent to our team this year was that our move-in students were underperforming and that there were large gaps in their data due to the late entry into our building. Therefore, I wanted to delve deeper into this idea of mobility and how it impacts test results. I specifically wanted to look at this across the three middle schools in my district, Gahanna Jefferson Public Schools, because the three districts differ in student populations. I was not surprised by the results but rather reaffirmed in my thinking. I first wanted to see if certain schools would have higher mobility rates than others so I did a comparison of three years to see the percentage of students who were in the
To collect data I used two methods, participant observation and surveys. For participant observation, I went to Oliver Hall to get my food and observe other students’ interactions with the workers. I was able to observe and participate six times for about 30 minutes each session, and each time I was able to interact in meaningful and respectful conversations with each worker I came into contact. Since it was my own experience, I was able to take notes after I sat down on the table closest to the entrance, and then I took notes on who walked in, how many people they walked in with, and which worker was working. At first I focused on simple greetings, for example, saying “hello” or “thank you,” but then I was able to go more in depth to seeing which students make an effort to go beyond pleasantries and ask about the worker’s day or tell a joke. When I went to
When it came to the nondomimant condition, the experimenter asked subjects to hold the pen with the hand that they would not normally use for writing. The experiment consisted of four different parts that were printed on separate sheets of paper and presented to subjects in a single booklet. The first task was a practice task and involved drawing a straight line between two points. The second task involved drawing a line between 10 ordered digits printed randomly around the page. Subjects were then told to indicate on this scale how difficult it was for them to perform the digit connection task. The participants were asked to mark the scale holding the pen as they had while performing the task. The difficulty rating was included because it
On Friday, February 10th, 2017 I did a naturalistic observation with the intent to observe gender dynamics unfold in a specific setting. I attended a party on Friday night and observed for approximately 2 hours. The setting was a lingerie party at Gaia’s Cradle.
Mrs. Orbach made the children each a baked chicken thigh with two side dishes. The children each had two or more cups of juice. I did not see Cody eat because he was upstairs in his bedroom sleeping during my visit.
In Observation, chapter 12, Gift and Task of Salvation are internal faith towards God. Listening to some of the ways that the author has presented the gifts and task in and out of scripture, I would like to live and thank God repeatedly rather than the preach it to people. The flow of positive prayer energy is always high. People will pick up on this energy. I say the belief of salvation is the application in the face of tough tasks, non-believers, and to energize believers. The question I have here is how long can I show an interest and keep asking and living like Christ? Does it pay off in people’s faces action and will my body react differently?
In the second painting “Youth” the child has grown, and has experienced some of life’s challenges as a youth. He is seen here steering the boat by himself on the widened stream surrounded by the trees and the landscape in full bloom. The angel is on the bank of the stream as if to direct him out on his boat. The youth sets out on a summer day on the stream that looks calm but at the end it looks as if it will turn a little rocky. The reflections of the surroundings are mirrored on the stream as the youth sails towards the graceful castle in the sky. The youth looks confident and energetic as he soars out on a journey. If you look above the mountains you can see angels in the midst of the clouds watching over him. He is reaching up to the graceful castle in the sky, and I believe he is asking for faith and hope to guide him in the right direction in life. The youth
For both the Valentine’s Day Run and Celebrate CSUB, I observed different types of sizes and fitness levels. From my perspective, my general impression of the races I assisted with had a calm atmosphere. With the first race, I was a participate. Participates were either walking, jogging or running. All individuals developed a fitness among one another by being active in general. With the second race, I was a volunteer. I observed that there were different sizes and fitness level among runners. A method I would suggest to the runners for developing a fitness schedule is to train ahead of time. With training, you can be less prone to injuries and your cardiovascular system will be more prepared.
I don’t remember since when I got the habit of observe other people in public place, passengers on the bus, my teachers, my classmates, my friends, people on the streets and among everything else that I could observe. But since I move to America, It have been difficult for me to make conversations with other people due to my English. I became shy and avoid to make conversations. Because I don’t talk to people around me so the only thing I can do is watching them. Whether in class or in a restaurant or any public place, I usually pick a corner spot where I can observer most of people there. Day by day, my habit became more and more of a hobbit. I start to enjoy watching other people and I realize that I could learn so many
On Monday, October 23, 2017, at 8:00 AM, the investigator traveled to the vicinity of the Insured’s residence located at 17045 Moon Crest Dr., Encino, CA 91436. Upon arrival at 9:50 AM, the insured’s home is located on the north side of a single roadway curve highway, where there is no parking on either side of on Moon Crest Drive and Nance Street. The home which the claimant resides at is a single-story family home which is found in the north-east corner of Moon Crest Drive and Nance Street. The residence is encircled with an eight-foot fence which encompasses the property, with a driveway which intersects with Moon Crest Drive. The front entrance is protected with an electronic wrought iron gate. Beyond the gated path, the road leads to
My practicum took place on September 7,2016 from nine thirty to ten thirty. The practicum took place at Impact Early College High School in Baytown. The class I observed was Ms. Nguyen’s class of juniors and seniors that contained twenty students, seven boys and thirteen girls. The class appeared to be alert and ready to learn. Since this was their second period class they already had enough time to shake off their fatigue. The subject was Pre-Calculous and the topic was operations of functions. Students entered the classroom in a calm manner and socialized until it was time to start class. The teacher instructed the students to take their seats and take five minutes to write their assignments into their academic calendar. The teacher went
