Explain What Writing Means To Me

I have always had a love hate relationship with writing. I like to think of myself as a very creative person who enjoys being expressive with my words, that is until it comes to putting them down on paper. I have always pride myself in having an expansive vocabulary and ability to articulate my emotions clearly from a young age. I had always excelled in my Literature and English courses in High School but soon found a stronger calling in public speaking and presenting. Though a daunting task for many I always found it so much easier to speak my mind then try to format my thoughts into an essay. Writing is one of those skills that if you do not continue to practice you can lose strength in rapidly.

What is the Meaning of Writing? Writing is enjoyable, calm, dreadful, and ghastly. These are some example of what people say about writing. It’s how people express themselves. How we tell others our stories, adventures, and our heroes. It is how we communicate without talking. Authors write to show their feelings, experiences, or stories they want to share. Take others to their own world. In fact writing means different things to everyone.

Writing is a skill that many authors use to show their style or qualities. Writing is such a great experience and it allows you to tell stories, or speak your opinions. It gives you opportunities to speak up and show your worth. There is two important steps for writing, one is to always think positive, and two is always believe in what you have to say. Many people struggle with writing at times and that's because they haven't thought out their ideas all the way or showed their full potential yet. It takes time to become a good writer.

I like writing. I regard it as my main tool of communication, prior to talking. It is probably because the disciplined environment in my elementary school that changed me in this way. I am afraid of talking, thinking that I might say some inappropriate thing. At the same time, writing became my implement to express my feeling to other people because I can check it as many time as I want before letting other people see it, which prevents me from making any unnecessary mistake.

Writing is a language comprehended through the understanding of symbols, alphabets, and other form styles that completes the language called writing. Writing is a style in which a writer expresses their way of writing skills. Writing is a gateway to escape real life and make a new life the way a writer wants them to live their life. It also makes writers feel free and become themselves. Writing is a work of art; it can be produced and mended in any way possible to create a wonderful piece of writing, such as books, papers, articles, novels, and other type of work styles. As Gustave Flaubert, a novelist, said that “The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe” (Flaubert). Writing is a primary method to communicate with each other in many ways and in many conditions by writing a letter, any type of paper, signs, symbols, or in some other form of writing or typing. Now writing has become a main source of attraction through text messaging, commercials or advertisements, famous quotes, catchy phrases, and other ways and styles of writing that attracts people.

In today’s society one would not be able to communicate effectively with the world if writing was not involved. People all around the world send emails, texts, and letter to numerous amounts of individuals each second. Talking on the phone is slowly becoming a thing of the past while the writing side of technology is taking over. The meaning of writing is changing in society. Writing used to be specifically for academics or the occasional letter to a loved one. As time has passed writing has taken more forms and more meanings. In the world we live in now writing is classified as texting, emailing, instant messaging, and even comments or tweets on social media. Although writing has these multiple new forms, it still holds its academic side strongly. Everything with meaning in turn affects a person’s day to day life. Writing has the effect of making one more intellectual. Writing has become a bridge between communication and the cultures and people of today’s society. It gives way for different options in stating sentences or phrases. (Olson). Each affect should change with age. As a person grows older, their writing styles should mature and take on a more professional aspect.

I’m Katlynn Hauber. I have three sisters, two brothers, and two wonderful parents who support me in every way possible. My hobbies include FFA, working at a daycare, reading, and writing. I do FFA because I love agriculture, I do daycare because I love playing with kids. I read and write because it’s easy….well I think. What does writing mean? More importantly, what does good writing mean? Well to me, good writing means the story has to have a purpose. If the writer doesn’t have a purpose then why are they writing? It’s like if John Lennon’s hit song “Imagine” did not have meaning would people still be affected the same way they were when they first heard it, I think not. Writing is my thing, and I can’t help but do it every day! To me, it’s a talent, it comes as an urgent call of nature that must be appeased. I have been writing since 2012, which means, we are talking of more than four years of content creation. I base my writing solidly on research and facts. I understand that the key reason for online writing is to engage readers and softly provoke them to take the intended action.

I have always seen writing as a way of expression. Some people use drawings, dance, music… etc. as ways of expressing themselves or how they feel, but I believe there is no better way to express your thoughts, than in words.

Writing is one of the most popular forms of communication these days. With social media and text messaging in our pockets, writing is more convenient than face to face conversation. The problem with texting and social media posts is how hard it is to read emotion in the short passages. In person it's easy to tell how someone is feeling by their tone of voice, facial expressions, body language etc. If you learn how to write well you can better express what you're feeling even from miles away. Writing can also help you get a better job. I took a business class where we learned how to write a good resume. We were taught that wording is the most important part. For example instead of saying I was a sandwhich maker at Wendy's, I would say that I was a food preparation specialist at a national chain. See the difference? But you can write for more than just “productive” reasons. You can write for fun! Write a poem for your mom for mother's day, write a short story, how you feel, what you did today, write about that cute boy in your class. Just

Writing means many different things to different people. Writing is a way to inform, persuade and entertain. I think writing is the best way to express your ideas feelings and thoughts. It also allows you to showcase what’s going on in your heart, mind and life. Writing is something I enjoy very much, but just as easily loath. Typically, I would write more if I write about a topic that interests me. Overall, I'd say writing is a way of life because of the sense of accomplishment one feel when finish writing. Even though it is hard to express my feelings through essays, writing is how I express my thoughts, motivate others, and pour out my feelings.
