Why I Want to Be a Nurse
“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries.Without them humanity cannot survive”-Dalai Launa
Compassion is the highest of all virtues. I believe that compassion or kindness is one of the most vital human characteristics. However, it is one thing that people overlook far too much. Compassion is the place within each of us that makes it possible to see suffering that is not are own, but that affects us as if it were. At a young age, I would always try my best to make a positive influence in people's lives. It started with animals, then it led to tutoring children who are less fortunate to afford a tutor, and then led to help raise money for children with leukemia. When I was four years old I would always take care of the stray dogs and animals in my neighborhood in Haiti by giving

Moving here made me realize that countries like Haiti need a helping hand when it comes to acceptable health care and now that I am older I can be part of that solution. My grandmother use to tell me no matter where you come from, you can always make a difference. I want to make at least a differences in one person's life. I want to help people through some of their most vulnerable moments. My becoming a nurse won’t get rid of poverty, but it will help the sick, disabled, blind, paralyzed, and deaf. Over 55 million people die each year and being able to save at least one of those 55 million people can change mine and that person's life. I enjoy caring for and working with people. Being a nurse is not an easy job and sometimes it will be stressful. A person need to be attentive; sensitive to people’s needs and have a drive to discuss their needs in an utmost concerned way. Caring and helping for a person is not always simple, but I know with my patience and commitment I will gladly learn and be the best possible nurse I can
"The two most important days in your life are the day you were born, and the day you find out why." -Mark Twain. That has been a favorite quote of mine for as long as I can recollect. Some people spend their entire lives never knowing what it feels like to be able to earn a living while at the same time fulfilling their passion or dreams. However i would be lying if i was to say that i don 't understand why. I am thirty one years of age, and deciding to make a career change and leave the job that provides a security blanket, to pursue the job that provides me with a purpose is exhilarating but nonetheless terrifying. When asked the question "Why do you want to become a nurse?" I could answer the same way that everyone else does by saying what it is I anticipate you want to hear or i can answer with my heart, I choose the latter. While a sizably voluminous part of my zealousness for nursing is centered on helping people, it goes much deeper than that for me. I have always believed that i should pursue a career that i would be proud of. That if a stranger was to ask me what i do for a living, I can answer them with a sense of pride, confidence and self admiration. Nursing would give me that. The path that has lead me up to this point in my life hasn 't always been the the most rewarding but i did what many of us do, settled. Just letting the years pass by, and getting no closer to reaching my goal. For most of my adult life i have been in the restaurant industry working as a
My college experience has not always been an easy journey for me. I was accepted into the nursing program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2012. I went through my first year with no hesitation or difficulties. Not knowing what was ahead of me, things became challenging. Unfortunately, I had to switch my major to public health. This was tough for me to go through because not only was I no longer in the major I love, but my anticipated graduation date was pushed back; it felt like I was starting all over again. Today, I am a public health major and it is very different than being a nursing major. With public health, it focuses more on health promotion while nursing focuses on the actual health of an individual and is more hands on.
When I was in tenth grade, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Like a lot of girls in my class, I was considering becoming a nurse. Nurses cared for others, were compassionate, and made good money. It seemed like a great option for me. Well, except for one thing. Back in tenth grade, I was terrified of socializing with people. As much as I wanted to help people, I didn’t like the aspect of patient care.
Many students change his or her career path and life goals several times in college, but I have a firm understanding and motivation regarding my career and expectations of myself that I intend to accomplish. My primary education goal is to complete the B.S.N. program at James Madison University. I am currently a freshman and have a long education career ahead of me, but I am up for the challenge. I chose to become a nurse because it will be my way of serving the community wherever I decide to settle. I have come to respect nurses and their important roles in the world through personal experiences. The most challenging situation I have faced in my short life is when my father was diagnosed with cancer for a second time. As a result, I was able to decide on my future career as a nurse, making it my primary
One of my inspirations that made me have the urge of wanting to become a nurse is, my friend nurse, Carlos Reyes, had provided assistance to numerous amount of people. Knowing that somebody’s life was in jeopardy, it made me realize that I want to have that eager of what that nurse has. Someday I hope to equal his diligence, skill and with such a strong passion as he had done. It is miraculously knowing such little things you do, can make a huge difference in a person’s life. It is an honor providing the needs’ of people that really need it.

It became clear to me that my career needed to involve building relationships with people with an opportunity to make a change in their lives and a fulfilling purpose that will allow me to help people in their weakest times. Since I am highly competent, enjoy helping others, and am passionate about the sciences, these factors led me to the nursing profession. It is my goal to become a nurse, and eventually a nurse anesthetist. Nursing requires not only strength in knowledge, but strength in spirit and emotion, and that is what made me have the passion for this career. It has been through my early experience in participating in Carlow University's "Prepare to Care" program during my sophomore year of high school that I saw how nurses are dedicated and genuinely enjoy helping and supporting patients. Visiting different hospitals and seeing their joys in their environment convinced me that I have the qualities needed to be a nurse. I was always fascinated with the sciences and became very interested in the health
Time dawns upon me to move and transform into the man my family hopes of becoming as I turn the new chapters of my life preparing for college. The constant pressure of preforming academically excellent and competing amongst my high school classmates displays the difficulty and challenges of a young adult seeking a better life. Throughout my years of learning and studying, I came to realize the valuable knowledge I’ve acquired and the future potential of increasing the betterment of society. From my current academic studies and the strenuous extracurricular activities performed during my high school career, I learned key aspects in life that taught me lessons in order to obtain success and achievement. Specific experiences across my past evoke my dreams of becoming an officer in the armed forces and also having a drive to become a nurse practitioner in the coming future.
I came to United States of America on July 2015, when I arrived here I never thought to come back to college . I only thought that a have to work very hard to achieve all my goals, in that moment my goal were help my family and bring them to this country, but I changed my mind, because I saw that studying a carrier will be easier for me to achieve my goals and now I have one more goal, it is to become a nurse and work as a nurse.
After graduating from Durant High School, I plan to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University to pursue a degree in Nursing. Making the decision to study in this field was not made overnight; many events and factors affected my decision. Since I was a young child, I have always enjoyed science of all kinds. As I grew older and my science classes began to focus on more specific topics, I realized that the human body is what I am most interested in. However, my interest in anatomy is not the only reason I am choosing to attend college to become a nurse.
There are bounteous reasons, one wants to become a nurse. A profession that has been around for over a hundred years. Nurses are recognized as strong working and fiercely conditioned television shows. They communicate uniformly and exhibit kindheartedness. A nurse leaves a permanent imprint on their patients who are forever gratified.
Since my early school life, I have a belief that every success comes through education. In spite of the fact that health care profession is the one that needs to be staffed with well-educated healthcare professionals. In fact, nursing is a lifesaving profession through which people get the necessary nursing care that can enable them to get back to their healthy circumstance. As a health care profession, nurses have been doing a tremendous and remarkable works at different places they care for their patients and this has impacted the health care services rendered to a care seeking patients. The way the nurses give a care to their patients is not limited at the health care facility, but also outside any health care facility and this created a good opportunity to have accessible healthcare service, especially for those who cannot go to a health care facility. It is this reason and other facts which make nursing to be the most trusted health care profession.
This course is also my fifth towards my master’s degree; however, I am on the generalist track. I am still not one hundred percent sure what I want to do further on in my career as a nurse, however I believe I might want to teach nursing students in the clinical setting. Being able to create a nursing blog is great; it is a great way to treat yourself while doing homework. I agree with you when you stated that it not enough to know about the disease but to know why the disease happens and how to treat the specific disease.
The nursing profession has been my main goal since I was high school student. The dream is rapidly becoming a reality as I am advancing through the profession phase of my college's nursing program. In my career, my ambition is provide excellent nursing care to each of my patients. Additionally, I hope to create a lasting impression to each individual (patients, family, co-workers) that I encounter in the field. My goals include collaberating with other healthcare providers to implement proper medical management, comfort, and constructive therapy. Once a registered nurse, I plan to apply to the emergency room at major hospital such as Capital Health or Robert Wood Johnson. This department will allow a novice nurse to expand their knowledge and
I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a nurse. As I applied to many schools in the early season of my senior year, I questioned what I would take into consideration as I chose a college. Choosing a school based on my major is something I thought was normal. For this reason, I really took the time to consider and weigh my options. Hence, one option that was very apparent, is the location of the nursing school. Some colleges have a separate medical campus located in major cities with access to large hospitals, while some have the hospitals and offices right down the street on campus. I weighed the option of what would best fit my experience for a lot longer than I was expecting. At times, I considered maybe it would be beneficial to stay on campus since college only happens once and people say it is the best years of your life. I was simultaneously thinking, maybe it is better to stay focused on my career by moving away. As this decision came closer, I decided I would visit a few schools with either an on-campus medical center, such as the University of Missouri and the University of Utah, or an off-campus medical center, like that of Baylor or the University of Oklahoma. Baylor’s nursing school is the one that definitely ensured my choice of where I wanted to attend college from the welcoming community it appears to have. However, I was still unsure about the moving after junior year. If you are like me considering the location of the nursing campus, you possibly
