Schools should change how they serve lunches. I have a couple of reasons for this. The first thing that the school should do is change how we serve food by placing everything out like a salad bar. The second reason why I think they should change is the lunch ladies wouldn't have to worry about students complaining about the food as much.
First of all the reason that I think serving food like a salad bar would be great is that, we would be able to pick what we want during lunch, and have more than just one choice for the main dish. At school now what we do is we go down stairs to the lunchroom then we get in line and type in our number walk through and then the lunch ladies give us a choice of fruit or veggies. Then we get our main dish
Schools should not sell fast food for lunch. Students that eat fast food at lunch are not eating healthy. They can become obese and have future health problems because of what they eat in their childhood. Some students eat school lunches everyday, which means they are eating the same unhealthy, fast food meal daily. Therefore, schools should not sell fast food for lunch because they cause obesity and health issues in the future.
Do you think your school needs improvements? I think my school has a few, but the lunches are easily the most recognizable. The school board should change our lunches because they are microwaved, they are not filling, and the school lunches have the same thing every day of the week. Seriously, none of the kids like them, so just get us brand named foods.
Students shouldn’t have to pay for school lunch. Image a student trying to get lunch, but can’t because they don’t have enough money or they owe dept. The lunch lady will then throw away their lunch and provide something not appetizing. If the lunch lady gives them free lunch, the school fires the lunch lady. In New Mexico, they recently banned schools from “lunch shaming.” Lunch shaming is where students are classified for not having enough money to eat lunch. They banned it because they saw how kids were dealing with the struggles of not eating and still having to learn. No one wants a student to go hungry and no one thinks it's a good idea for students to learn with an empty stomach.
One of the most controversial issues today is the question of how to address childhood obesity. Because of the large proportion of meals that children, particularly low-income children, consume in schools, cafeteria food has been targeted by dietary reformers as in need of a major overhaul. However, while many different types of new school menus have been proposed, the extent to which healthier foods can be offered remains controversial. Opponents to reform state that children will not eat healthier lunches, and that changing the food that children eat will have minimal impact, since the children will either bring food from home or eat food at home that is more 'kid friendly.'
Should schools allow open campus lunch? Schools should allow open campus lunches. It would have more choices for lunch, Many students would love not eating school lunches, It would offer an opportunity to run home and eat and get something that you forgot for a class.
HELP! I'm dying!... because school lunches are cringing! Students should be allowed to leave class during lunch hours, and be trusted to leave and return back in time for their next class. If high schools gave students this right it would teach them how to manage their time wisely and it would help them become responsible. Students who leave campus during lunch are most likely end up going to a local business to get their lunch which is both good for the students and the local businesses. Students with special food allergies could leave campus during lunch and go to their homes and get food they could actually eat and not be worried that their food could have been cross contaminated to something they're allergic to. Students who leave campus during lunch would come back energized and ready for their next classes.
ways that school lunches can be improved, but the most effective ideas are by improving the
The government controls the amount of calories in a school lunch to make sure kids get a fulfilling lunch. Although schools cannot make them buy a healthy product they control what they put out for the kids to eat. The healthy, hunger-free kids act in 2010 signed by former President Obama has helped all it can in bringing down obesity.
School lunches are important because it affects the health, lifestyle, and education of kids. Kids need nutrients in school lunches because then they can become healthy and grow up to be strong and healthy adults. School lunches are also important because by eating healthy, it will give kids energy throughout the rest of their day. Kids will also be able to focus in school because healthy lunches will help kids stay alert and their grades will improve. If kids are eating unhealthy school lunches, they will not be able to focus in school because they are not getting the nutrients they need. Healthy school lunches will prevent kids from becoming obese and healthy school lunches will improve the health of kids. The medical cost would also be
Kids don’t like school lunch. It tastes bad and we don’t get the “at home feel” when we eat it. Kids should be allowed to leave school as long as they are back on time. School lunches are proven to be unhealthy. Students aren’t as active if they eat school lunch.
The clock reads 11:39, in a few seconds the most important bell of the day will ring--the lunch bell. This bell sends students rushing to the cafeteria; some students will sit quietly at a table unpacking their lunch from home, others will wait in line to receive a lunch provided by the school. Everyday across America more than 31 million school lunches are served. The majority of these lunches fall under the regulations of the National School Lunch Program. The program, funded and regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), has raised many questions among American citizens. One very important question is whether or not the government should be allowed to regulate/ban certain foods in the nation's school system. The government,
In her presentation “what’s wrong with school lunches” Ann Copper (2007) stats that school lunches is a social justice issue. In the United Stats there are a series of problems in the food system . only few companies control the most of the commercially produced seeds in America, it makes people’s grocery choose lack. Also there are a lots of chemicals be used in animal husbandry, but government allow these kind thing happened. Further more many companies invested huge amount of money on advertising non-nutrient food, this will mislead our children on their food chooses. Moreover the thing is much more prisoners than farmers, so we do need import food from other countries. These kind things bring out very considerable consequences such as our
Hey! Are you tired of the same old thing in the school lunchroom? What changes would you make? I would change a couple things, and this is what they would be, I would like to have the NFL channel to watch, having a buffet of meats and a share of desserts, the last thing would be true restaurant style including booths and tables.
Aren’t you tired of getting dried out carrots and old, stale, broccoli every day at lunch? Wouldn’t you like to have more choices? Imagine if you could get delicious, hot, crispy french fries or extra cheesy Marco’s pizza. If we had more delicious options, parents would spend less time packing their lunch in lunchboxes. Parents on average spent 1,800 minutes per school year packing lunches (http://www.ofcs.net/). To avoid this, cafeterias should serve delicious fast food.
Although some schools have salad bars, should schools have a larger variety of healthy foods for kids that want to have low-fat and/or vegetarian lunch options? There are actually good benifits of having these healthier eating choices at a school. Here are some benefits of that.
