Have you ever wondered why you can’t carry around your backpack class to class? In my opinion book bags should be aloud to be taken to class to class. It’s easy all you have to do is put your books in your bag which is a lot easier to carry than a stack of books and binders. You don’t have to worry about your pencils and supplies falling out as much. Not only that, but Your stuff won't get dirty on the ground only your bookbag will get wet/ dirty. You won't have anything in your hands to worry about. Also, If your were to fall or anything along those lines you could use your hand to catch yourself unlike with books you will have to drop your books and someone could get hurt or something could break. Furthermore it would be much easier to
These are the reasons why books should not be banned. Violating the First Amendment, which is freedom of speech. Books are giving students a better idea of our world. Lastly, anyone can read any book they want as long as the book is their maturity level and parents give them permission. Books should not be banned from a school libraries.
A book is thrown into a furnace of hot coal and flames. Our Founding Fathers efforts are tossed away into burning flames of ignorance. Banning Books should not be allowed in public libraries. Books serve as a teaching tool and inspire new ideas for all of society. Banning books also goes against our American rights.
For older students, it would allow me, as a teacher, to be more flexible. If there was only one book that fitted with the page then I would do the same process as I did with the younger students. But if there was multiple books, I could have students working independently or collaborating with groups. It all would depend on the topic of the
What would you do if your favorite book got taken out of the local library? That’s been happening all over the United States for many years. Books shouldn’t be banned because they help to educate the reader feelings and concepts, expose the youth and others to reality, and embed ideas to revolutionize the world around us. To begin, books shouldn’t be banned because it helps to teach readers ideas, feelings, and concepts they may not fully understand.
In Europe, most books were still being made by hand. Writing books by hand was a long process and took years to complete. The invention made it more efficient to produce books and they were cheaper. They could also print in color now.
I strongly believe teachers should pick our books for our school year. I believe this because 3 simple reason s 1st, teachers aren’t bias to what we read. 2nd, teachers literally went to college for this. 3rd teachers (mostly) read a lot of books so they are more experienced in the book world and know what’s best for us.
Banning books from school libraries is one of the main examples of censorship in American society today. While it is not directly preventing the authors from exercising their freedom of speech, it does prevent this information from reaching its audience. This limits students ability to form their own opinions and ideas on certain topics, whether that be about slavery or about vampires. In 1982, in the case of the School Board vs. Pico, the Supreme Court ruled that books may not be banned for any discriminatory reasons. This means that books cannot be banned simply because they do not conform to the political, religious, or nationalistic ideas of those banning the books as this would violate the First Amendment. I agree with this, as students
Books play an important role in the everyday education of students around the U.S. The Banning and challenging of books in certain states is very popular. People have their reasons as to why they choose to challenge them. Most reason have been because of sexual contents the book have, or that they go against a certain religious group. Books are what help people understand more about the subject. They tell obviously a story, but also the lives of others in a more entertaining way you might say. Parents don't take into consideration that, the moment a book is banned they're taking their child a privilege of learning more about a certain event. Not only are they disrupting their own child's education but taking other students privileges as well. In kurt vonnegut's case, the banning of book has been a constant issue since most of his books are considered “anti-christian” and unappropriate for students. One of the most famous banned books of his is Slaughterhouse-five. Causing major polemic on college
I will never forget the look on my friends face when they told him that he could not use the public bathrooms at school because it made other boys uncomfortable. He was told that because he is transgender, he would have to use the single bathroom for the handicapped students. Allowing him to use the bathroom of his choice would have stopped him from feeling discriminated against.
Although it would be efficient for the teacher to choose the book, it would be more effective to let the students to choose for many reasons. For one thing, students would pay more attention and understand the concept of the book more. All students are different, they all like to do different things. when they pick
Used to the average weight of school books would be over 30 lbs. But a tablet ways under 1.75 lbs. That's a 94% decrease in weight! That's much easier to get to class with a tablet than a 30 lb backpack.
I do believe we should censor books that will be used at public schools. There needs to a way in which books that are viewed as offensive or obscene are not used in public places of education, like schools. However, I am concern about who determines what books are allowed or banned in schools. I believe a rating system; like the way we rate movies might serve schools and teachers better. Books can fall under a rating system PG, PG13, or rated R. Adults would be well aware of possible offensive and obscene content before a child even begins to read the books. Schools would only allow PG or PG13 books depending upon grade. Any book that would be considered rate R would need written permission from the school board. If any parent finds
Books you can just pick up and carry where ever you're going. Movies not so much, DVD players require batteries and are to small and bulky.
Books are the best teachers you can ever have, so why take them away from the hands of the young teenagers that are looking for guidance. So, what are the effects of taking a book away? Well, first off it limits the brain to books that have no meaning, or powerful content. “Censorship is about the restriction and control of intellectual development” (Bailey, Boyd 11). The governing bodies that censor the books are limiting the
For those who have kids that love bringing books along on road trips, prevent their hardbound treasures from waging war with their clothing by wrapping and buckling an old belt around them. This makes for easier and safer storage, and may spare your kids’ books any unnecessary wear and tear. If they’re carrying around Hogwarts’ Monster Book of Monsters, it will also prevent the book from biting.
