There are many tasks a mechanical engineer is faced with on a daily basis. A mechanical engineer must have several qualities to make the work enjoyable for themselves and others. A mechanical engineer must be well qualified in their education to receive a job, as it is a broad industry. With having a job or career as a mechanical engineer you rarely have to worry if your job is going to exist the next day, or if your pay is going to get cut; a mechanical engineer is needed everywhere. Being a mechanical engineer there is the everyday struggle of blending work life with home life and dealing with the …show more content…
The third quality they must have is being highly imaginative and creative because their job involves a variety of problems to fix ("Mechanical Engineering Schools,"). The fourth quality a mechanical engineer must achieve is having good communication skills because they usually work as a team when dealing with problems ("Mechanical Engineering Schools,"). A fifth quality they must obtain is to enjoy working as a team because two or three brains put together work better than one ("Mechanical Engineering Schools,"). Lastly, a mechanical engineer must enjoy building or improving the way things work, as this is their job on a daily basis ("Mechanical Engineering Schools,"). Since a mechanical engineers job is so broad, they must have a diverse education. A mechanical engineers education develops critical thinking, organization, and problem solving abilities that allows them to move into other diverse fields (“Mechanical Engineering Overview”). In high school, it is best to take courses that involve advanced math and science courses, which include physics and technology (“Mechanical Engineering Overview”). It is also just as important to take classes that build team building because mechanical engineers work in groups most of the time (“Mechanical Engineering Overview”). When choosing to study to become an engineer in college, it is
In conclusion, this paper explored the job description, requirements and salary expectation for mechanics. This career is a good fit for me because I love to build and fix things. This is also a career where I can continue to grow throughout the career. This is also what I have always wanted to do. I feel this career is a good fit for anyone who wants to be able to grow in the workplace. So I am going to ask you again. Do you love fixing things that people use
The profession of mechanical engineering is a broad discipline of engineering. Mechanical engineers research, design, develop, build, and test mechanical and thermal sensors and devices, including tools, engines, and machines. The duties in this career typically include: analyzing problems to see how mechanical and thermal devices might help solve a problem, designing, or redesigning mechanical and thermal devices or subsystems (a set of interconnected systems), using analysis and computer-aided design, developing and testing prototypes of devices they design, analyzing the test results and changing the design or system as needed, and overseeing the manufacturing process for the device. The designing and testing of the various devices shows the
If I ever got to pick one of my classes it would be mechanic class. It is a very enjoyable class. There are many reasons why mechanic class could help you in everyday life. One of those important reasons are it can help you get a job. So you won't be a hobo on the streets. my Second reason is. you can learn about automobile history.
These can include courses in physics, acoustics, music theory and performance, mathematics, and electrical engineering. The greater and more in depth than a student's education is, the better the chance of climbing to the top of the career ladder. These programs can be quite intense, and some even highly competitive.
Having the right education is an important part of becoming a successful industrial engineer. Learning the basics of engineering in high school is the first step of the education process. An example of a program that gives high school student pre-college knowledge of engineering is Project Lead the Way. According to their website, Project Lead has “PLTW students have said that PLTW Engineering influenced their post-secondary decisions and helped shape their future” (Project Lead the Way). Project Lead the Way and other high school classes help future engineers. After high school, college education is required to become a industrial engineer. Most industrial engineers just achieve a bachelor’s degree, but some engineers either get their master’s degree at the same time as their bachelor's or get their masters when they have
There are some subjects to study in high school for engineers like: physics, chemistry, computer science, geometry, algebra II, calculus, English; if available, electronics (Science Buddies). I have already completed or am taking most of these subjects already. I just need to take physics and calculus soon.
Take a look around yourself. What do you see? Maybe books, chairs, a television, or even your clothes. All the day to day things that are man-made, you can be sure that an engineer helped make it. Engineers have shaped our world as we know it. There are many different kinds of engineers from chemical, mechanical, textile, civil, agricultural and structural engineers. Our civilization would be as advanced as the Stone Age without these people. This career demands a wide education of math and science. It is an ever-changing career with new advances in materials and the way products are produced. Engineering careers are very secure with respect to compensation. Regardless of this, it does have it’s disadvantages
The main preparation I need to prepare is knowledge. Knowledge in mechatronic engineering is essential for me to become an engineer successfully because I will able to identify, study and solve the problem by implemented the knowledge that I have learned in university. For example,
When college students enter a career field, we encounter many problems and concerns, such as rules, traditions, and the writing involve. By doing the Discipline Investigation Assignment, it helps me to explore my future career field and get advice on how to do well in the industry. Also, this assignment is a great way to find out the struggles and problems as we encounter a new profession. The discourse community I have chosen is Mechanical Engineering. I am very passionate in doing machine work and repairing mechanisms, also I like math, physics, and sciences, therefore I want to be am Mechanical Engineer. In order to know what I need to be prepared and what are the daily work that I could be doing as a Mechanical Engineer, I conduct an
Do you like to work with automobiles and modify them? Then being an automotive engineer is for you. Say your car breaks down, what are you going to do? Oh wait, you're an automotive engineer, you can fix it!
Mechanical engineering is not too different from electrical engineering in the sense that they both have to do with creating tools and many other things; however mechanical engineering has more to do with building things like cars and elevators than phones, or light bulbs. Being able to find a job after graduating from college is always something that should be worried about; however, the employment rate for mechanical engineers are increasing and is expected to increase by 5% in the next few years (summary). The median annual play for a mechanical engineer in 2016 was $84,190. A person only needs a bachelor's degree to start their work as a mechanical engineer (Summary). For mechanical engineering I would need classes like mathematics, physics, life, design and engineering (Summary). These things are also very convenient for me since I enjoy math and physic, but like I stated earlier everything has its own pros and cons.
When talking about engineering, people would probably have pictures in their mind of engineers using machines producing parts, drawing and sketching designs, or even doing some mathematical calculations. A more general answer to what engineers actually do would be that they solve social problems through the use of machines, devices, systems, materials and processes. They are all absolutely correct. But in reality, both the job and the role of an engineer are more complicated. They do not only have to work with machines and designs. Engineers are often involved in communications and negotiations. They have to work with different people and the responsibility that they have is massive. Important decisions are made by them and they have to use their own judgement. And very often, ethical considerations are already built into the decisions they make. In order to make the best decisions, they have to be understood in the context of their role in society and, moreover, they need to develop good ethical awareness and be able to deal with the dilemmas that they have to face every day.
Obstacles had never been obstructing my effort to succeed in life. As an engineer to be, it is important to me to be prepared for the hurdles in the real world. The world nowadays needs a person who could compete and has great abilities to stand on the same level as others. Multiple skills and critical opinion of an issue are essential for an engineer to jump into this challenging career. For me, a strategic planning and full preparation need to achieve the aim of being an expert engineer.
I would spend hours together experimenting and analyzing various mechanics around me like the ball bearings in my bicycle & roller skates and would be fascinated by my spring loaded toy cars. During my higher secondary schooling, I showed special interest in mathematics and physical sciences and in order to supplement the education that I received in school, I became a habitual reader of science magazines and books. As a direct consequence of this, I came to know about the latest developments in the field of science and engineering, especially aerospace and manufacturing engineering as it deeply interested me and I was naturally inclined to like the subject. The basics I learnt in school only whetted my appetite for more learning. It was but natural I would choose to take up manufacturing engineering as a career choice when I joined
To the ASME, improving the general welfare of society through the utilization of the specialized skills of engineers is highly stressed. One must consider the possible consequences of actions and decide the best course of action to benefit the safety and health of the public. The ASME
