Next, extraversion refers to the range of extraverts-introverts: sociable to unsociable, lively to unlively, active to inactive, assertive to unassertive, and sensation seeking to predictive live style. McCrosky et al. (2001) found that extraversion is highly related to traits of assertiveness and shyness (p.361). Extraverts have many friends and enjoy being around other people while introverts have a few intimate friends and enjoy spending their time alone. The traits in extraversion are expansive in size and direction.

Like me, maybe you didn't think that there was more than one category. As Scott Barry Kaufman has written, pop culture has defined introversion in quite a few confusing ways.

An introvert person is usually someone who enjoys solitude rather than spending time with a group of people. Introverts are often known for being able to “recharge” on their own, rather than recharging by socializing. Extroverts usually gain energy from spending time with other people. For many introverts, being in a social surrounding and spending a lot of time around people can be exhausting, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t like people. It means they choose not to be surrounded by others. But why do introverts want to be alone? Is it because they lack social skills or social interest? Or maybe they create a protective wall where they don’t let people in.

Personality traits may contribute significantly in influencing SWB. The most repeated finding in this field is the relationship between Extraversion and positive affect on the impact of SWB (Eid, Riemann, Angleitner & Borkenau, 2003). This connection can work in two ways. To begin with, people have a tendency to be happier in social circumstances (Pavot, Diener & Fujita, 1990), and they should be happier in light of the fact that extraverts invest more energy socially (Watson, Clark, McIntyre & Hamaker, 1992). Second, Extraversion by and large has a positive effect on friends, family, and other relationships, while Neuroticism is regularly a negative indicator (Anderson, John, Keltner & Kring, 2001; Belsky, Jaffee, Caspi, Moffit & Silva, 2003;

According to The Personality Page (2015), “Extraverts like to talk to others, listen to what someone is saying, cook dinner, or make a cup of coffee, and work on a car” (The Personality Page, 2015). Extroverts are thought of as those who are outgoing, the life of a conversation, and who speak up in groups. Naturally, when extroverts are given a task they will react on quickly and seek to complete the task as soon as possible. Introverts tend to take time to think about the situation and come up with the best solution prior to acting. According to Cherry (2014), “list of five of the key traits common to extrovert are: you love to talk, socializing helps you feel energized and inspired, you like to solve problems by discussing them, people often describe you as friendly and approachable, and you are very open and people find it easy to get to know you” (Cherry, 2014).

Before going straight into the five factors, there are things that come before that stage such as predicting the behavior of a person. When it comes to the behavior of a person there are two labels that can define them which are “introvert” or “extrovert.” Introverts are known as people who do not do well with social interaction and extrovert is the opposite, the people who are comfortable with social interaction. Introversion and extroversion are thought of as a trait which leads into the classifying of traits.

Results such as these make sense in that extraverted individuals tend to enjoy human interaction, and be talkative, assertive, and gregarious, especially in social situations. Introverts on the other hand, tend to be more withdrawn, and take more pleasure in solitary activities such as reading and writing. It has been hypothesized that extroverts experience higher levels of subjective well-being, and this may be due to the fact that they engage in more social interactions providing the opportunity for more life circumstances, which in turn create the opportunity to experience more positive affectivity (Larsen & Ketelaar, 1991).

Kroeger et al. (2002) state that introverts enjoy having time to themselves and will often need time alone to “recharge” after engaging in social events. Feeling anxious when a teacher asks you to answer a question. Introverts are individuals who are very reserved and like keeping their thoughts to themselves. They enjoy being alone and not being evolved with other people. Extroverts are very distinct on the other hand, they are very outgoing and enjoy being with people. In order for them to feel content, they have to socialize with others and seek activities. Many teachers like having their students work in groups, but students who are introverts don’t like the idea of working with others because they feel misplaced. These teachers generally don’t take in consideration that these students can’t work with others and they get the students in trouble when they don’t interact with them. Schools should treat introverts equally as any other person, they’re more efficient individually and feel more complacent when working alone.

As people, we have a multitude of personality traits; also as human beings we can’t label anyone’s personality strictly into just one word or term. Everyone has a vast array of personality traits which can be from how sad, to how happy; to even how sexual someone can be that is different from one another. But we can qualify people into various personality traits that can just barely summarize a person’s overall personality, specifically in this case, as either introverts or extraverts. Introverts and extraverts are traits that are very different from one another and can be called opposites. These two personalities can differ in people with how they react in society, in private, public, in the workplace, and how the person with either of these personalities react with people and other stimuli, and much more. Generally speaking, extraverts are people that like to have company around them and introverts are people who like to be isolated more than not. But, people who are either an introvert or an extravert as part of their personality can be much more diverse in various ways.

There are two different types of personalities. There are Extroverts and then there are Introverts. Somewhere in between those two are a mixture of both, some call neutral. Where you’re a little bit of this and that; but you’re not at the same time. I don’t know just trying to explain it you to is making my head hurt. Any way back on topic. Extroverts are people, who are outgoing and kind of over expressive to the point where it sickening. I know this from personal experience. Someone who is an Extrovert for example may like playing sports or taking part in a play. Essentially ANYTHING where all attention is focused on them. This is the complete opposite for Introverts.
