Work ethics and ethical behavior
To understand what is the work ethics and what is meant by ethical behavior and what are the factors influencing the ethical behavior, we need to know the meaning of some key words.
Ethics is a philosophical term derived from the Greek word "ethos" meaning character or custom and can be defined as the code of moral principles that sets standards of bad or good or wrong or right in one's conduct.
Work ethics can be defined as carrying out one's business in a morally correct and honorable manner. It is all about doing the right thing, in the right way for the right reason.
Ethical behavior is that which is accepted to be right or good opposed to bad or wrong in the context of the governing moral code.

The difference in the emotional states of these two people is surely significant, and you may hold your friend less responsible for what she did. People's emotions affect why and how they do certain things. And this is relevant to analyzing and evaluating human behavior.
Religions also can be relevant to the person ethical behavior, most people probably associate ideas of right and wrong with religions more than anything else. According to Merriam-Webster, ethics is defined as an area of study that deals with ideas about what is good and bad behavior. Some would argue that definition is rather vague. A more complete understanding of ethics would suggest that it is more than just an area of study but rather a way of life; moral principles that govern a person's or group's behavior. If one is ethical and has good moral standards, it is usually seen in that person. Simply put, ethics could be considered the standards of behavior as to which society accepts.
I would like to define workplace ethics. According to wiseGeek (2003-2012), “workplace ethics are codes of conduct that influence the development of an ethical culture within the workplace (para.1). Workplace Ethic is where the organization ethics sits between the law and business operations. It inspires communication between employees and allows respect to each person within the organization, which promotes customer relationships that are based on honesty and integrity. Ethics is the process of doing right or wrong. It assists a person in the deciding if something is moral or immoral or if it is socially desirable (Dess, McNamara, & Eisner, 2016, p. 368). A person can get his or her ethics from religious beliefs, heritage, family, the community, education and friends. Organizational ethics is the values, attitudes and behavioral patterns defined by the organizations culture. Organizational ethics determine what is acceptable behavior.

In the workplace as well as one’s personal life is essential for ethics to be maintained; often taking the right action is not always the most popular choice. Ethical behavior is behavior that a person considers to be appropriate. A person’s moral principals are shaped from birth, and developed overtime throughout the person’s life. There are many factors that can influence what a person believes whats is right, or what is wrong. Some factors are a person’s family, religious beliefs, culture, and experiences. In business it is of great importance for an employee to understand how to act ethically to prevent a company from being sued, and receiving criticism from the public while bringing in profits for the company. It creates an institution that reflects our own values and make us feel more confident about what is an acceptable behavior and what is not. This type of ethic could vary depending on the various types of situations, professions, and personal values. Many professionals that are trusted by the public like doctors, accountants, engineers and even an information technologist all have a Code of Ethics, which sets out expectations of the member’s behavior and how they operate internally and externally.
