A script is technically a book but nobody has realized that yet. This changes Montag’s perspective on Mildred’s life, and how she has been living for a long while now. He feel’s as though it is unfair for the people who loved to read books.
Montag’s Wife, Mildred, is a negative influence on him, trying to push him away emotionally and physically. She does not know who she really is and lives in an illusionary world with her obsession of television shows and believing they are real. He is so confused because she tries to ignore it ever happened thinking about all the bad things; “fire, sleeping tablets, men disposable tissue, coattails, blow, wad, flush...Rain. The storm. The uncle laughing...The whole world pouring down..." (19). After this incident he looks at Mildred in a different light and is someone who he can’t relate to. Another way she separates herself from Montag is through her "family", which is a television show. Montag constantly asks Millie “[if that] family loves [her]… love [her] with all their heart and soul" (83). Her world isn’t based in reality; they are clearly on different paths. Hers is one of illusion and his is becoming that of a totally self-aware person. She blocks everything and everyone out that is around her and lives within the show. Mildred opens Montag 's eyes to the real world and shows him that most people are uncaring and narcissistic.

Oh how the flames have changed. No longer did the flames signify destruction, eating away at the pages that had once shaped society as we know it. No longer did the flamethrower clenched in a fireman’s fist burn the ideals that make us people. No longer did they dash the hopes, the dreams, of man. Fire, which was one demolition and violence, is now hope.
When people are born, they are taught whatever others think is right, but as life goes on, they are faced with the challenge of following the path that was made for them or creating their own. That is how in the novel, Fahrenheit 451 Ray Bradbury portrays the character Montag, since he has to make a decision very similar to that. The purpose of this passage, during the scene where the attack happens displays Montag’s recognition of the feelings he truly felt as he realizes what the world he actually lives in has become. This is organized by Bradbury’s use of detail and imagery.
Montag once liked his job and then he meets Clarisse and begins to question is career choice as well as his personal life because he does not feel complete or happy. Montag wants to change his life and tries to open up to Mildred about his feelings but Mildred is so caught up with her “T.V. Family” that she does not have time to discuss anything with Montag.
In the novel Fahrenheit 451 we meet a character named Clarrise. She serves as a catalyst for another character named Guy Montag. She has a youthful perspective and intellectual curiosity, she also refuses to obey societal norms. She decides to challenge Montag’s view on the world, which causes Montag to rebel against the oppressive censorship. If she never met Montag, he would have never been able to change and he would still be following social norms and still be comfortable.
The science fiction novel, Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury, is about a futuristic dystopian society where everyone follows simple rules/norms: don't read books and spend time with their “families”. The families in the novel are also known as the TV’s. Whoever in the novel reads or owns books, gets put down by the hound. Montag, a protagonist in the novel, works as the fireman whom are very violent (like the rest of the society). No one in this society ever think, but when Montag (Protagonist) meets Clarisse McClellan, he becomes to question everything. Bradbury tries to portray that when people become emotionless, they don’t think about their actions which end up being violent. Bradbury’s hound (terrifying mechanical beast that kills who are unlawful) represents a type of police in the society that regulates everything and everyone. Thus Bradbury’s predictions are similar to today’s society in the police forces (which are controlled by the government).
Change is inescapable; it is the only consistent factor in any society, collective, or individual. Since change is constant, then why are societies usually so fixed on attempting to be rigid in their culture? In Fahrenheit 451, Bradbury uses the culture surrounding Montag to illustrate the evolution of his moral belief system in regards to knowledge.
Throughout your short time while on this Earth you will go through many different changes in your life, style, and with the society around you. These changes are not always a negative thing as well as them not always being a positive thing. However, these changes are always all brought on by the changing surroundings around you and the actions that you take in order to either maintain these surroundings or advance with the change and change your life because of these changes that are being brought upon you. The biggest problem that I have been facing for my entire life is always questioning myself as well as the others around me. While this problem may not seem like a problem at all because we cannot advance in society without questions
People are always blocked from true knowledge and the government continuously will try to manipulate you, well having free education for all can get you to think for yourself without being controlled. Society should be more responsible for providing access and equity to free education for its citizens in order to give the people to think for themselves and not be manipulated by others that have knowledge. In the story it shows the government not really caring about the education of the people on how they just burn the books that people try to read, it's basically manipulating the people for their own. In harrison bergeron they give you handicapped and put you in same line of intelligence which makes it difficult to think for the themselves without their education, again it's manipulating the people to for their own needs.
It all starts with Montag meeting Clarisse. A major thing that happened when she asked Montag if he was happy or not. Then he started to think if he was actually happy or not. After a while Clarisse goes missing and he starts to wonder where she is. Finally Mildred told him that Clarisse got hit by a car. Around the middle of the story Guy Montag starts to read a book to all of Mildred’s friends. They
In Ray Braudbury’s novel, Fahrenheit 451, Guy Montag undergoes major changes because of the influence of other intellects and events; in effect this caused him to ruminate about events that were considered “normal”. Montag’s occupation is firefighting, however he is not the traditional version of a fire fighter. Montag does not put out fire, but rather helps ignite them. This is considered ordinary within his society because they are not allowed to read books or have knowledge previous to this era. This law is enforced with such intensity because the government fears that knowledge in one’s mind will contribute to overthrowing whoever is in control or has the most power within the society. However this does not stop a few individuals (including Montag) to pose threats to the government by reading and by posing questions.
