Hello and Good Morning Professor. Freedberg, This is Roseellie Minier from your SWK 440 Monday class. Unfortunately, I am feeling under the weather and will not be able to make it to class today. I have attached the draft of the Term Paper for this course on this email. Also, I wanted to mention that I met with Fern from Arc XVI Fort Washington (my field placement supervisor) and we were able to catch up on all the documents I was missing for your class. I will submit that to your next Monday. Finally, as you know I submitted my application for Columbia and I need a recommendation letter from you, furthermore I was wondering if you would be able to come to my field placement before the semester is over?
I hope that this letter finds you well. I am reaching out to provide you with a few updates regarding Miriam’s Quarter 3 grades.

Hello Mr. Werrel, my name is Naimah Irving and I'll be in your class for the fall. I looked at the Cressman library page to see if they have the book I need for this class, but they only carry the 4th edition. It's probably not acceptable, but I wanted your input first before I start purchasing my books for this semester.
Complete this notes outline as you review the material throughout the course. You will submit this completed outline to 4.04 Unit 4 Notes Dropbox.
The date is June 6th, 1984, and American President Ronald Reagan stands solemnly before a massive stone monument on what he calls "a lonely, windswept point on the northern shore of France." On this historic day, the President of the United States stands solemnly before a small crowd of some of the bravest men living. The men assembled before him know these cliffs well. These are the Rangers who scaled the cliffs 40 years ago to do more than win the cliffs on the shores of Normandy. These are the Rangers who began the retaking of the entirety of Europe from Axis Control. That was 40 years ago, now only 90 of the original 225 sit before him now. All that can be heard are the crash of the waves on beach below and the occasional cry of a seagull

Former President George W. Bush’s speech, “Bullhorn”, was given through a megaphone on top the rumble of 220 floors of a horrific event. On the day of September 11, 2001, an Islamic group, called Al-Qaeda, hijacked four American passenger airliners to carry out suicide attacks against targets across the United States. The potential targets included: the twin towers, the Pentagon and the White House. Three of the four hijacked airliners accomplished their goal as the lives of 3,000 innocent civilians were taken. A cloud of grief and mourn covered the country as they experience the worst tragedy since 1941, the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Soon after the attack on September 14th, a ray of hope appeared as President Bush took the stage. Throughout his speech, three rhetorical devices were shown are: ethos, logos, and pathos. Bush used these three devices to connect with the audiences’ emotions, appeal to the audiences’ ethics, and appeal to the logical side of the audience additionally, all while creating a sufficient speech to the comfort the country.

In his speech, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop,” Martin Luther King Jr. reminds his audience of the agony, strength, and resentment they feel due to racial discrimination through personification, imagery, equivocation, and anaphora. In doing so, King persuades his audience of protestors to apply nonviolent methods of reform to gain equality while propelling a newfound sense of energy and motivation into the movement. King begins his speech by integrating personification and imagery to emphasize the pain and destruction that such unfairness creates in order to unify and convince his audience to make a change in the world. Through equivocation, he stresses the strength in the unified force of the African American community to demonstrate that passive resistance enough to achieve success. King alludes to the audience's anger in order to rally the protesters and incite energy in their tedious journey of reform. The rhetorical strategies of highlighting the various pathetic appeals works for the intended audience of demonstrators because this movement for equality has a very emotional origin.
Last Tuesday, November 3rd, I attended to the Public Ofrendas Exhibit's public speech as my Day of the Dead event, and I have learned and enjoyed many things about it. First, I thought that the way the public speaker explained everything about Mexico and how it is like living there during your whole life greatly. I thought it was important that she did that because, if I did'nt know about any of that stuff, I would have been confused the whole speech. Also, she pointed out that her and other people are doing this support group, who are helping the poor women in Chiapas, Mexico. The group challenges racism, sexism, and poverty, and it supported by independent women. They are all also trying to end child labor, which is a very important fact
