Static stretches are intended to improve flexibility by holding a specific movement. For the feet and calves there is the advanced plantar flexor stretch. For the knees and things there are the advanced seated knee flexor stretch and advanced kneeling knee extensor stretch. The hips can be stretch with external rotator and back extensor stretch, along with the advanced seated hip adductor stretch. The arms, wrists and hands can be stretch with the elbow and wrist flexor stretch, triceps brachii stretch, intermediate wrist extensor stretch and intermediate wrist flexor stretch. The shoulder, back and chest can be stretch with the intermediate shoulder flexor stretch, shoulder adductor, protractor and elevator stretch, along with the shoulder adductor and extensor stretch (Nelson & Kokkonen,
The five basic components of fitness are cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. Cardiorespiratory endurance measures how efficiently the heart, lungs, and blood vessels are able to supply oxygen, energy, and nutrients to muscles particularly during prolonged exercise. An example could be swimming or running and it can improve heart health. Muscular strength is measured by how much a muscle can “handle”. The most force a muscle or group of muscles can handle, this aspect is used during weight training or other forms of resistance exercise. It is important because it improves muscle health and durability. The

Around 1950, perhaps consistent with the Industrial Revolution and the commentary of World War II, the term "fitness" increased in westerly argot by a substitute of ten. This has led to an correlation of humane fitness and winsomeness which has assemble global fitness and fitness equipment industries. Regarding specific province, fitness is attributed to person who possess important aerobic or anaerobiotic ability, i.e. strength or suffering. A holistic delimitation of fitness is express by Greg Glassman in the CrossFit journal as an increased work capability across broad times and modal domains; mastery of several attributes of fitness conclude strength, suffering, power, quickness, balance and coordination and being able to reprove the amount of work done in a given time with any of these domains. A well circular fitness playbill will reprove a person in all aspects of fitness, rather than one, such as only cardio/respiratory continuance or only load

Someone who is flexible does not get stiff as easily. Stretching 20 minutes a day can actually prevent stiff bones that come with aging
Therefore, when an athlete increases their flexibility, they are able to develop strength and power through a given joint’s range of motion. Functional strength in power exercise performance, as the ability to transfer a given load as efficiently as possible, is key. Great range of motion allows for an athlete to perform each strength training exercise correctly because of their ability to move through the biomechanics with proper form. Flexibility also has a positive correlation with injury prevention. According to STACK Magazine, “flexibility increases a joint’s range of motion, relaxes muscles, increases mobility, decrease stiffness in muscles and tendons and reduces post-exercise soreness.” One take-away message from my internship is Nik’s statement regarding flexibility on performance: “the difference between good and great athletes is flexibility.” It is not a coincidence that great flexibility is stressed and exercises are implemented into world-class exercise programs for high-class
According to Merriam Webster, fitness is defined as “the quality or state of being fit” (n.d. 2016). This obviously has a bit of room for interpretation. What is “fit”, anyway? Everyone measures fitness differently. Some would consider themselves fit if they don’t get winded after running up a flight of stairs, others measure it by a certain amount of weight they can lift or miles they can run, some measure it by using percentages and ratios like Body Mass Index or BMI, and others
