In a 1998 study involving children published by the New England Journal of Medicine showed that the intranasal flu vaccine increased antibodies in the bodies of its recipients, and decreased the likelihood of flu. Results showed that the vaccine was more effective than placebo. (1) A 2012 study published in the Journal of Infectious Diseases showed that flu vaccines “was associated with a three-quarters reduction in the risk of life-threatening influenza illness in children.” (2)For older adults, however, flu vaccines may have a lower efficacy—but they still prevent 61.2% of flu hospitalizations.

Influenza is an infectious illness that can be spread from one individual to the next. It can be transmitted by means of saliva, nasal secretions, feces and blood. It can also be spread by coming in contact with the virus on contaminated surfaces. Influenza is responsible for an average of 36,000 deaths and for more than 226,000 hospitalizations each year in the United States. (Davidson, 2007-2009, Davis, 2007).

Usually, vaccinated children get sick after vaccination. This is because the flu virus has entered their bodies and sensitizes it against it. And, what’s more, the flu shot actually causes immunosuppression-weakened immunity.

Have you ever been in pain to where you feel like your whole body is aching along with a headache? Then, oddly your body temperature changes. One minute your hot then the next you're cold. Some people even have scratchy throats and a mild cough. Well all of these are signs that you might be coming down with the flu. This harsh and dreadful symptoms can be prevented by simply getting an influenza vaccination. To promote people getting the vaccine the government makes several ads a year to raise awareness to encourage people to make the responsible decision by getting the vaccination.

One large reason to geth the flu shot is the fact that the Center of Disease control reccomends that everyone get a flu shot. Their statement on this issue is that, "Health experts now recommend that everyone 6 months of age and older get vaccinated against influenza." Just knowing that the Center of Disease Control agrees should make it easier for everyone to want to get a flue shot. To say that getting a flu shot is unhealthy is simply ignoring the facts. According to the “Commonwealth of Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services” that as of February 2, 2018 that there have been 100 flu-related fatalities from the flu this year alone and at least four of those deaths were children. I believe you should get a flu shot because it prevents you from getting the flu most of the time. sometimes you can get the flu from the flu shot if you are sick when u get it.
