Introduction
When immigrants first came to America, a motivating factor behind their reason to move had a strong correlation with the religious freedom that was offered within the country. Thus, as America grew and aged religious freedom quickly became essential to many different religious groups. This is very true for a particular branch of Christianity, the Mormons. Mormonism began near 1820 when a man, named Joseph Smith, translated the Bible and Book of Mormon, becoming the first prophet for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS). On any given day of the week, if one was to pass by a Mormon church, then they would always see lights on in the church house and cars parked in the church parking lot. The church is often a safe haven for many people and they view it as a place where they can come closer to God by learning from the scriptures and the gospel leaders. Yet, it is not only scripture study classes that occur within the walls of the church. A variety of different activities occur throughout the week that is catered to all sorts of ages. These activities give the members of the church and even non-members a chance to develop relationships with each other and to find a comforting shelter.

I grew up in the church and was baptized at the age of accountability, which is eight years old. Thus, I already had an understanding about the LDS religion. I know how the inner workings of the church work and have faced stereotypes against the religion. This led me to become interested in how other churches were conducted and how the people in these other religions acted.
