While children are influenced by many things, there are no stronger influences than that of their parents. Parents are usually their children’s first playmates, and while there world expands with each passing year, parental influence is still one of the greatest factors in determining the ways in which the child will grow and develop.

Parents are the world of their children. When one is young the only adults he knows are his parents and teachers. He is bond to believe every single word they say.

Socially and Emotionally the family is a big influence in a child’s development. Parents have a big role by providing care and guidance for their development. Unfortunately some families cannot promote the development of a child because of the conflict among the parents. A single parent can have difficulties in boosting a better development in children and young people, sometimes a child is separated from its siblings and this can affect them too.

Children may have to attend a school that is associated with their religion. It is always possible that this gives the child a different quality/balance of education. They may struggle to understand other people‘s religion or lifestyle choices. They may become confused or isolated and

One of the most discussed topics in the modern world is children indoctrination into religion. Children aren't developed enough to decide in what to believe or disbelieve. Everyone is born without believing in a religion until it is either forced on them or they are developed enough to decide if one of the religions ''works'' for them or not. Mostly, parents are the most influential part in a child life. They decide what a proper education is to their successor and they impose their ideas to their child.

There are numerous approaches on how one will parent their child; this can include anything from permissive to authoritative parenting. As one can imagine, the type of parenting can greatly influence the mental development of their child. A husband and a wife that grew up in an authoritative and extremely religious household share their experience, and also how they believe this affected them. These parents that are highly religious have a deep desire to pass on to their very closely held views. Both religion and family are essential parts in the running of any society. Religion is the belief in a supernatural authority which unites a group of people. Normally, a family consist of people who share the same bloodline; however, it may also consist of a group of people who are legally bonded such as adopted children. In whatever type of the family, strong and healthy bonds are necessary. Among other factors, religion plays a significant role in strengthening the family bonds. In many religions of the world, family comes first. For instance, in the Bible, God created man and woman so that they could reproduce and fill the earth. In addition, God gave man power over all other living things. This shows how important people are to God. Notably, various religions have different values and expectations on families. For instance, Islam allows polygamy while Christianity allows monogamy. The relationship between family and religion can be evaluated using the functionalism perspective of sociology. As young children, we first become aware of our religious beliefs from our family members. On early Sunday morning we attend Sunday School with our family followed by a late morning church service. There are also those that attend the Sunday evening service if provided as well as the regularly scheduled church meetings, bible study and choir practice that occurs during the middle of the week. Many parents send their children to parochial schools in order to insure that their children receive a better education along with a continued teaching and reinforcement of their religious beliefs. Some families continue their worship of their religion at home by praying before meals along with a family weeknight family bible study.

More of an ethical dilemma comes into play if the parents practice two different religions. For example, if one parent practices Hinduism, but the other parent practices a different religion. And say the parent that practices would like their child to observe the portion of Hinduism in which you do not harm or consume certain meats, specifically pork or beef. What if the parent that practices Hinduism strongly believes that the child shouldn’t consume certain items and should be a vegetarian or vegan while under the care of the school, but the other parent believes that a lack of protein through meat consumption will stunt the child's growth? Does the teacher take into consideration some other religious rules the child may follow under each parent's instruction? What if the parents have split custody over the child? It would be unethical to say the child can have certainly eat meat when they are with one parent and go back to eating a vegetarian diet while living with the other. In the eyes of the parent that practices Hinduism the child would be sinning every time they are with the other parent and this would only cause further disputes. So does this become a matter of health benefits and how the child’s diet will affect their growth and development? The example of what a child would eat is a simple example, but if we were to extend this narrative to other co-parenting decisions it would be evidence of the ethical challenges that would exist when parents practice

There have been many arguments on this issue that whether family or friends have more influence on young adults. Different people have different way of thinking on this issue. Some consider friends to be more influential on the young adult while others have totally opposite views about it. But according to my view and experience, young adults are more highly influenced by their friends rather than their parents.
