Forensic Radiology

The title of the position I will be looking at in the forensic science field is Photography. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Kansas City Missouri Police Department both use digital photography as part of their crime scene sketch/photography in the crime scene processing unit. What made me interested in a career in forensic photography or crime scene photography was watching different shows such as Crime Scene Investigation and Naval Crime Investigative Service in watching all the different characters do all the different crime scene investigative work.

Have certain interrogatories popped in your head repeatedly? How do we know if someone hears us beyond the grave? Can they determine if I died of natural causes or did someone cut my life thread short? Never really  thought about it have you? Well, if you did or not the answer is yes people!!! There are people who are adamant about understanding what caused our life to take a quick or long turn to the big paradise in the sky or the land of milk and honey as most people heard and proffered. They are the superheroes, advocates for the dead, Forensic Pathologist is the name. They hold the most important jobs in the world, because like I said before they are insistant with knowing what or whom triggered your expiration date?  Ha just a little humor for my comedy readers, yes you may have heard or be familiar of this occupation on Law and Order, Law and Order Criminal Intent, Law and Order SVU, CSI, etc.

A Forensic Pathologist studies the cause of death of human remains. To become a forensic pathologist it takes time and hard work. The average time at school is thirteen to eighteen years. The average salary is 100k- 500k. At school they have to study anatomy, but also serology and toxicology.

This information will help investigators cluster the symptoms with a particular disease and rule out irrelevant information. The surveillance of the components gather in this step will put a perspective on the abnormal health events that are occurring on the outbreak timeline.

When completing a crime scene sketch, it is important to include specific information on each sketch. There should be the title block which contains the case number, the agency number, the name and title of the artist, the location of the scene, and the date and time at which the sketch was created. It might also state the victim’s name, the names of any suspects, or the type of crime. The title block should appear in the lower right corner of the sketch paper. The legend should contain the key to the identity

The CSI Forensics Scientist Gil Grissom determines the manner of death by using a simulation dummy (Zuiker 2000). Pathologist are the ones who tend to further expand a criminal investigation through all the multiple testing. They will run DNA test and bone test throughout the whole day. Up until my senior year of high school I dreamed of becoming a Cardiovascular surgeon. I loved learning about the human body, I like to help people and I thought it would be a good fit. I took many pre-med classes through school one of them being medical forensics, this class intrigued me. One of the units in my medical forensic class was forensic psychology and I learned to love it more than any other class I had taken thus far.

Radiation Technologists, or Rad-Techs, should always ensure that radiographs have the right amount of contrast so that the radiologist can easily read them for faster diagnosis.
