Fourth of July cookouts can be so much fun and appetite fulfilling, when you’re the guest and not the Hostess. As party planners know cook outs can be very expensive and stressful especially when you are planning and prepping all by yourself. You have to have the funds and time to go buy the necessities you need, from food and drinks to decorations. Making sure that your invites goes out weeks in advance and asking which one of your closest friends can come in advance to help you prepare for a fun afternoon/evening.
This would be my first ever Fourth of July cook out at my new house, so I was very excited but I was not prepared for what was at hand the night before and day of the cook out. It was crunch time now I had to go to the grocery store to buy all the favorite cook out foods like hot dogs, hamburgers, eggs for devil eggs, tuna for tuna mac salad etc. After the grocery store I had to buy the non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. The shopping part wasn’t the bad part the bad part was bringing in all the items in the house

Three of my friends came over early to help me which was awesome, they got the grill started and food cooking. As people started to come so did my best friend Breanna, I express how I felt to her once again and a few other friends said that she should stay instead of leave because I put so much effort and money into this first Fourth of July cook out. She simply did not care and I felt like if she was a good friend she would have stayed to help and other things because I know that I would of. As 8pm started approaching I can see she was still anticipating on leaving the cook out, this made me feel used and neglected. I felt like she just came over and ate my food, drink my drinks and then said peace out. My feelings were hurt since this was someone I considered a long time best
The American flag consists of thirteen horizontal stripes, with seven red stripes alternating among six white. In the upper left corner there is a rectangular blue space that contains fifty white stars. The thirteen stripes symbolize the thirteen original colonies of the United states of America and the stars represent the fifty states of the Union. White is said to symbolize purity and innocence. Red symbolizes strength and courage, and blue symbolizes vigilance, perseverance and justice. The flag in simple words is a piece of cloth that has meaning. The flag stands for everything in our country’s past.
Everyone started figuring out what they were going to order. I had no idea what to get because generally I don’t eat tacos at restaurants. I decided that I was going to get the kids nachos.
Do you like eating at restaurants and fast food places? Almost everyone does, but do we really know how healthy and unhealthy the food we are eating is? Labeling food menu choices should become a law. As stated in passage "Label the Meals", one thing both arguments can agree on is that healthy people are happier and more productive. If labeling meals in food places taken upon, it is a way of helping people take charge of their well-being. People should have the obligation of viewing the nutrition information whether the food is nutritious or not.
While growing up, you might find yourself in a sort of limbo. There is a time when you are between a child and an adult, between young and grown. This is exactly the case for Timothy, the protagonist in Bradbury’s “The Million Year Picnic” (1946). He senses parts of the adult world that are hidden from his younger brothers, while retaining a childlike uncertainty and confusion. This paper seeks to analyze and interpret Timothy’s character as well as the short story’s narration, setting and themes.

The Fourth of July is the nation’s birthday, but it is also a time for everyone to get together and mingle for hours on hours. Countless number of friends and family get together on the beach for barbeques, parties, watch the sun set sink away and have an amazing night full fireworks. Having the chance to have spent my 2015 Fourth of July along Ft. Lauderdale beach was the best time of my life. It brought such joy and excitement to be able to spend the holiday with family and friends.
Many people believe that the American flag represents the pride they have in their country. Anyone who was to damage the flag is often seen as “un-patriotic” or even as a “terrorist”. That, however, is simply untrue. Burning the American flag is one of the greatest patriotic acts a person can do.
I can’t believe my first college semester is almost over. Key word is “almost” because the weeks following thanksgiving break will be critical for me. Even though it’s almost over, I must finish strong. I wouldn’t want all my hard work to go to waste. All the A’s that I earned so far must remain A’s for me in order for me to be happy with my academic performance. These next 3 weeks are going to be hectic, but also relaxing.
In the two essays “Cut,” by Bob Greene and “The Fourth of July,” by Audre Lorde they both discuss how disappointments as a child affected their lives. Greene’s essay gives five examples about how five boys were cut from a sports team and how they used that disappointment to become successful as adults. Lorde’s essay differed in that it told one story of how her and her family were on their vacation in Washington D.C. and they were not served at a restaurant because they were black. Both authors discuss feelings of being left out, being discriminated against, and how disappointments affected their lives. However, there are more differences than
When the Fourth of July comes around some families celebrate when America got freedom. Some families will get together, they have a tradition of going to watch the fireworks during the night of the Fourth of July.People celebrate this certain day because it is the day the Declaration of Independence was signed. One of the most unhealthy diets in the world is that of an American. It is made up of processed foods and a good amount of television. America easily has the most fast food restaurants in the entire world. Leave it to McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King or any other fast-food restaurant to serve extremely cheap and even unhealthier food at any time during the day or night. ”It tastes good so why not?” That seems to be the question many people are asking now-a-days. Because it is so easily accessible and processed, it is made to be very tasty and extremely unhealthy. Many Americans find his or herself indulging on the these fatty foods of America on a day-to-day basis. While it may taste good at the time, it has a terrible effect on your body
Cinco de Mayo means the fifth of May. It is not an independence day for Mexico like most unknowledgeable people think. Mexican Independence Day is celebrated on the 15th of September. Mexico declared independence from Spain on the 24th of August 1821. Cinco de Mayo is not an American holiday either. Mexico and the United States savor this holiday because it is the day where Mexican peasants/ commoners defeated the French and Mexican traitor army that double them in size in Puebla, Mexico one hundred miles away from Mexico city on the 5th of May, 1862.

This book was incredible! In all truth this was the first book I have ever read cover to cover. The book, by Ron Kovic, as compared to the film, by Oliver Stone, had some impressive similarities. Both the book and the film did a great job of portraying Ron’s childhood in Massapequa, Long Island. From the little league games to playing war in the woods, leading charges and setting ambushes. This was especially well done in the movie, and exactly as I pictured them while reading the book. The time that he spent in Mexico was well defined in the book as well as in the film. While there were many similarities, what I feel is more important is to focus on the differences.
After the graduation ceremony, the school organized an event for students to attend instead of going to a party and drinking. It was named project graduation, we all met back at the school at 10 pm and took the buses to an arcade place. I went with a group of friends I was close with in high school. At first, it was fun playing games, and riding rides, refreshments, and food were provided too. When my best friend Cristina, Jimmy and I were outside on line for a ride, another friend of mine Casey asked: “Can I ride with you guys”. I said ok and right away my snobby friend Cristina said: “there is no room”. Clearly there was room for the four of us, I am the type of person that treats everyone, equally uncool or not. I did not like how Cristina treated her, so I walked away with my other friend. A persons’ character determines his or her traits for us to be good people. I am a compassionate, responsible, and caring person. This became an ethical dilemma because I felt I needed to make a choice, stay best friends with Cristina or ignore my other friend and hurt her feelings. I believe all people should treat other how they would want to be treated by doing right by God.In the end, Cristina and I stopped being friends because treating people kindly and fairly is very important to my
