Funding &
This year, my two partners and I participated in the Business Financial Plan category. We presented at the District Leadership Conference, where we the advanced to State. This project benefited me in numerous ways. For instance, at the time, I was undecided on my career choice. Participating in this event caused me to acknowledge the financial considerations that need to be taken when operating a business. I soon learned that I enjoyed calculating the finances for a business and determining the most efficient ways for it to operate. Therefore, this event has contributed in my career choice. Due to the impact FBLA has made on my life and the involvement of it, this organization has benefitted me in ways other organizations have
1. Member Board of Directors – Each Director serves for three-year terms and may be reelected. There are 21 members currently serving on the Board.
The establishment of the Board of Directors became official and students were thus allowed to make recommendations to the Board acknowledging that they would make the best business decision for the organization. These decisions included the merge movement to allow NFA members to become FFA members. The Board of Directors continues to meet three times a year and continue to help the National FFA officers and student members to prosper according to the archives from Indiana University- Perdue University.
Leadership is being able to guide other students into being the best they can be. I am a leader who is always positive and cheering others on to achieve their goals. At my school, I have a position as the Vice President of Academics in National Honors Society. Since I have obtained this position, I encourage other students in this group to participate in service projects which is where one volunteers to help out the community in some aspect. These volunteering opportunities are good thing to do because it builds character and it is always fun helping others out. As a leader, I bring new ideas to the table on where we should help out in the community and anything that we could do in school that would fun and helpful. Along with participating in National Honors Society at my school, I am also involved in our Student Government Association. Although I do not have a leadership position in this club, I still engage in the activities that we do. For the past two years, I have gone to an annual meeting for leadership where multiple schools attend. At this meeting there are fun activities where you learn more about leadership and how to be a good leader. As a leader, these meetings help because it is always good to learn new

On December 5, 1776 the first collegiate fraternal greek letter organization in the United States, Phi Beta Kappa was founded at Yale, the College of William and Mary.Building from the example of literary organizations, which were based on literary debates, and election, Phi Beta Kappa set many standards for collegiate greek letter organizations in the realm of rituals/traditions, selective admittance, faculty and community support. It was not until one hundred and thirty years that the first black greek letter organization, Alpha Phi Alpha was founded. The need of this organization emerged from a lack of admittance and representation in social clubs and greek organizations established on college

My future plans are to graduate university, earn my CPA designation and work for one of the big 5 banks or one of the big 4 accounting firms. The Business Administration program at Laurier will help me achieve my future career plans by teaching me about current information that can be applicable in today’s society. Wilfrid Laurier’s Lazaridis School of Business and Economics is prestigious and highly recognized, being accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business, CPA, and winning more accounting gold medals than the other universities
My high school class ring is one of the most prized possessions that I own. My ring is gold with an antique finish. My full name is engraved in cursive on the inside of the ring. My first name is inscribed on the right side of the ring and my last name is inscribed on the left side of the ring. On the left side of my ring underneath my last name is the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) logo with the number fifteen underneath the logo. On the right side of my ring underneath my first name is a volleyball with the number twenty-five on the top of it and the letters FM under the volleyball. There is also a small volleyball net under the letters FM and the number two thousand fifteen on the left side of the volleyball. In the center of
The PDP was designed in such a way that allows the graduates to learn each unit of the Supervalu business. As an individual this looks promising because the graduate will get exposure to multiply departments in which will help shape them into a well-rounded person. The PDP is designed for a two year rotation that crosses three businesses units in the company. The idea of the rotation is to help the upcoming employee and the company because it develops skills related to all the three areas of the business and will help the overall business to grow. An area that may need changing is the requirement for the graduate because currently the standard is a 4 year degree with a minimum GPA of 3. A proposed idea is to not isolate to that one requirement rather look at the graduate holistically. If the company wants to diversify their workforce they should consider other criteria’s like major accomplishments, projects, or involvement with the school. Also another recommendation is to give the chance for existing employees to grow in the company. A way that this could be accomplished is by having both the managers and employees nominate the names of potential people to be a part of PDP. A way to drive this program internally is to create an incentive for the employees because it will help motivate them to
The meeting began when the school board members entered the large group instruction room and took their seats at a panel table angled to the side of the audience. The school board consists of nine elected members from the community. The members are as follows: Paul Ridley (President), Pat Vigliotta (Vice President), Helen Cumminskey
I was first drawn by the name “NYC Ladders for Leaders” as I strongly believe that leaders aren’t born, but are fruits of creativity, persistence, and most importantly, passion. Because achieving these qualifying aspects of a leader require not only motivation but also the strength to overcome the flaws of the human nature, including laziness and selfishness, a mere minority of the population can succeed as leaders, as pioneers of the future, as heroes of the community. Since leadership crafted, the phrase “ladder” is especially intriguing, as this program will serve as a helping hand for youths who aim to become guiders of society. Because my parents abandoned their comfortable lives and immigrated to the U.S. solely to provide me with an
“An effective training program needs a high-quality program design to maximize trainee learning and transfer of training. Program design refers to the organization and coordination of the training program.” (Noe, p. 193) Doug Conant became CEO of Campbell’s Soup in 2001 in the midst of a tumultuous time for the company. Campbell’s Soup stock was hitting rock bottom and “in Conant’s words, the company had "a very toxic culture." Employees were disheartened, management systems were dysfunctional, trust was low, and a lot of people felt and behaved like victims” (Duncan, 2014). To change the culture, Conant implemented the CEO Institute to “create a meaningful

The Board of Directors are in charge of determining the corporation’s leadership structure on an annual basis and determine if the board will be led by an independent Chairperson or an independent Lead Director. The board has decided that Ronald Sargent, the CEO of Staples, will remain and the Chairman of the board. The Board of Directors is broken down into five committees made up of around three or four board members. Each committee has there own responsibilities and are in charge of making critical decisions that they must assure is communicated properly throughout the entire company. This leadership structure assures that the Board of Directors has a proper balance of leadership roles that allows for a system that prevents any conflict of interests that may come from having the CEO serving on the board.
