GEN200 Prioritizing for Responsible Productivity Growing up, responsibility was something most young minds feared. The way parents spoke of responsibility, portraying so much struggle and frustration, it was evident most individuals dreaded growing up and acquiring more responsibility than simple chores around the house. That was then. When one experiences what comes with age, things become easier to accept. Through the years one can learn to distinguish the difference between selfishness and independence. The difference is personal responsibility. Differentiating between what is needed and what is preferred for the benefit of oneself is important for an individual’s well being. I work hard to earn the money I am paid. Moreover, I work hard to spend the money I am paid. Suffice it to say, let us discuss how finding financial balance is important. I have yet to receive my degree in higher education, and let me say it has been hard to get where I am at this time without it. Experiencing any shortage on monetary endowments will keep reality in check. So, I developed managing money as good as possible by practicing cost-efficient spending, stretching pay periods, and exhausting monetary resources. By focusing on balancing my finance on what is necessary vs. what is preferred, I can return to school. By prioritizing what needs to be paid first, I am directly supporting my personal responsibility to myself. Ideally, everyone wants to pay off all debts. Being able to prioritize which debts are paid off first supports organization and validity in all aspects of an individual’s life. Since I have touched base on playing hard and working hard, I can move into the workplace. Finding professional balance and prioritizing work responsibility directly ties into supporting personal responsibility. As an individual with dreams and goals, a majority can agree that we decide to work where we work to maintain the path we are on to achieve such dreams and goals. I know we can all attest to working somewhere we detest to maintain monetary support needed. Can we all attest to being professional about personal responsibilities within a
Every day, people are faced with responsibility. Some thrive under the pressure while others crumble. Responsibility is a sign of independence. Teenagers with greater amounts of responsibility feel freedom from their parents. In the same case, too much responsibility can put more stress on that freedom-seeking teen and can have devastating effects. John Steinbeck shows the theme that in life, responsibility is best taken in moderation in his novel Of Mice and Men.
In many situations in my life, I have been personally accountable for my actions. Every part of being who I am has something to do with morality. Being responsible and accountable for what I do is something I take very personally. It is a key point in my personality and a critical part of being part of the US Army.
Due to my recent troubles at work I have been counseled twice in the past several weeks. This has given me a lot of time to reflect at the way I have really presented myself in the Army thus far. I have not always been the best Soldier that I could have been during most of the time I that I have been in so far. Thinking about this does bother me, it means that I could be trying harder to get ahead and better myself as a Soldier and a person. Lets say for example I have been late to work twice in the past several weeks not only to include missing a pt formation altogether. I did this by not ensuring that i had met alo of my neds to ensure that i woudl wake up in the morning. But by doing
Personal responsibility requires one to finally accept the truth that you are responsible for your own actions. Most of the time when mistakes are made, the initial reaction is to point a finger or find an excuse rather than accept involvement. Personal responsibility is the key to College success because at times, most students find themselves falling short of what lies in between these two. Some examples of are turning in homework assignments at the last minute, running late for class, and cramming for a test. As noted by Sullivan (2011), “Personal change also

My own financial health resonates well with the above quote from Daly and Farley, not because I’ve thought about money, but because I know nothing about it. As a young student still breaking ties from home, I have to navigate the intricate world credit, lease contracts, financial aid, and investments seemingly to no avail. In his chapter titled “Enough Debt,” Dietz alludes to this complex world that is the American financial system that I and every other American are currently dealing with. With any complex system, there are misconceptions tied to it that can provide a simpler understanding to those analyzing it. Dietz provides three of the most prevalent misconceptions, how their true function actually debunks them, and then systemic changes
“Your Responsibility theme forces you to take psychological ownership for anything you commit to, and whether large or small, you feel emotionally bound to follow it through to completion”(Gallup, 2012). This goes without saying. I take personal responsibility for all of my endeavors. It is also my responsibility to fight for what I believe in, as others may not be able to do so for themselves.
I was taught from the beginning that I have to take responsibility for my actions. As I got older more responsibilities were added to my plate. At the age of sixteen I began working in a pet grooming salon and adding more responsibility on myself. I worked thirty five hours a week while still in high school. Right after I graduated high school I joined the Army, this opened up a window of new responsibilities. This was the first time I was responsible for myself and for others around me. As far as being a student it is my responsibility to show up to class prepared for each day and be where I need to be at the correct time. It is my responsibility to make sure that I learn and fully understand the material that is being taught. It is also my responsibility to communicate if there is something that I don’t understand and reach out to find a way to understand
The goal of this course is to get you thinking about personal finance issues at a point in your life when you still have time to benefit from the power of time in generating wealth to accomplish your other life goals. Money isn’t everything, but a lack of it will impact almost every aspect of your life and those who surround you.
Responsibility to me is the passion that one must do what they know they need to do to succeed, because if they don’t they will never be able to do what they need to to take care of themselves. Responsibility is acting by yourself even if there is not direct incentive to do so because it is what one must do to succeed. When I finally became mature enough to understand the responsibility’s I had for myself and others that were apart of my team, I immediately changed my ways and my grades in senior year were over one whole grade point average compared to the two prior years. To be responsible in life is to be successful and if one can not be responsible in life then they will never reach their full
Responsibility is a key component in establishing a person’s character and a vital part of human existence. Of the three definitions the Oxford Dictionary provides, the one of most relevance is; the opportunity or ability to act independently and take decisions without authorization. This definition is particularly important because the decisions a person makes without the influence of others essentially denotes a person’s character and displays who they truly are. Throughout life, numerous opportunities are brought about which require a person to take responsibility and make the appropriate choices. Students are expected to be responsible throughout their academic careers by upholding the standards established by the institution they are
Being responsible refers to our ability to make decisions that serve our own interests and the interests of others. We first need to be responsible for ourselves before we can be responsible for others. In learning to be more responsible it is important that we know our limitations. It does not matter how smart we are, there is only so much responsibility that one person can handle at any given time. It is also important to remember that we are not responsible for thing that are out of our control, for example, how other people think and feel or how they react to ourselves or others. Sharing responsibility for both success and failure can lead to increased responsibility to oneself and to others. When you
When one recognizes that they are 100% responsible for their life, they will soon see the great achievements that come with being a responsible person. Responsibility is a very valuable trait in all that we do. Taking responsibility for one’s self leads to a more optimistic life and one is able to accomplish all that they want. Sometimes taking responsibility can be a very difficult thing, but in the end one is usually happy that they did. If one chose’s to lead an irresponsible life, they will soon see that they will be living a much uncontrolled life and therefore grow to be very pessimistic. One’s health is also affected by the choices one makes. When we choose
Responsibility in a person is a must as they can be more trusting and dependable if they have even the slightest amount of responsibility unlike those who don’t have any they can be lacking in many things and most people will see them as drags on society. Not only that, but they seem to have negative impressions with everyone else as they do not really help contribute to the betterment of mankind but that is how most people act in today’s world. But they still seem to go on and make the best of the day that they can. Responsibility is hard for a lot of people, it puts stress on you and makes people think you’re dependent so they might start asking more from you. That saying, my life would be much better than it already is if I took reasonability for my Self in more ways than one.
