I really interested in gene discovery, and I want to be a Professor of Medical or Human Genetics, who fully understands about clinical laboratory tests, and able to develop new clinical tests. I always look medical genetics as a field, which capable of improving the world., in particular, by gene sequencing and gene discovery because my family is affected by a genetic disorder. Therefore, I believe that by working in a laboratory of sequencings, I will be able to play a role and contribute to the health of general public.
After my sister lost her battle with cancer, I want to have a better of human genome and the genetically transmitted diseases. My passion is to work in the medical field specially the development of potential drug for cancer treatment and others fatal diseases. My sister endured lot of pain and it breaks my heart to see people battling with illnesses and hoping for better health every day.
When I found out about this opportunity I was extremely excited. I am always up for learning and experiencing new things, especially when they involve something I love. I want to attend the Ag-Discovery Program at Texas A&M University because I feel certain that it would give me a chance to expand my knowledge in agriculture science. It will also be an introduction into life at college . This program will help me advance my knowledge and help pursue my career in animal studies. If accepted, I would work respectfully, responsibly and always be ready to learn each day. Attending this program will show colleges that I am serious about my studies and that I am committed to learning. It will also show them that I have set goals for myself and
After graduated, I would like to be a laboratory scientist. Laboratory scientist is a challenging and meaningful job which is as important as doctors because it needs numerous knowledge and need to judge accurately. I want to use this knowledge to help doctors find out the diseases and physical condition of patients and let the patients can be restored from sickness as fast as possible. Although studying medical science is difficult and it is a considerable challenge for me, I still want to try
As an adolescent, my enthusiasm for biology, knowledge, and assisting others attracted me to the medical field. The salary or glory does not appeal to me, since physicians must also commit to a grueling education, long work hours, and tremendous responsibilities. However, they bring optimism and joy to despairing patients. Doctors encounter mental challenges while diagnosing a patient, and immense satisfaction devising a solution. I intend to become a clinical geneticist, as I am inquisitive about genetics, particularly genetically inherited diseases. A
Biomed Academy at my high school will be the most contributing factor to attain my goal. This academy has changed my perspective about medicine career. I have gained tons of knowledge from BioMed academy in these high school years. This will help me to attain my goal, because the knowledge gained from this academy will help me to be a successful medical professional. The principle of Health Science, Health Science, CNA, psychology, Biology, and anatomy and physiology are classes that prepared me to be an eligible Pre-Med applicant. I have learned from the basic structures of the body to the complex structure of the body, and from classroom to hands-on experience at the rehabilitation center. These years in BioMed Academy will help me to attain
When I graduated from high school I enrolled into Morgan State University and majored in biology. My fascination with microorganisms, the diseases that they cause
DNA analysis involves a number of tests and instrumentation, from PCR amplification, SDS PAGE analysis, DNA purification, fluorescent DNA analysis, to Y-Chromosome analysis (to name a few). Forensic scientists, not only DNA analysts, are also often called upon to appear in court as expert witnesses to verify and explain findings. Therefore, in order to perform this job well, I must have intimate knowledge of laboratory procedures and well as court-room proceedings. To work as a forensic DNA analyst, a Bachelor’s degree in a physical or life science, preferably Biology, is required. I have already begun this portion of my plan, as I am currently majoring in Biology with a cellular and molecular concentration and a minor in Chemistry. After obtaining
As trillions of cells incorporate together to make a human work functionally, the problem related to health is never simple. We operate in overwhelming information and our best evidence evolves daily. As such, learning to have a good command of data analysis and critical thinking needs extensive study and practice, even life-long. I have always been in love with basketball and wanted to play well. To achieve that goal I reviewed countless hours of videotape, frame by frame, of favorite players and practiced thousands of times to grasp the skill. For now, my pursuit is different but the principle is the same. By extensive study and practice, I want to become an expert in human genetics. This is my primary professional goal.
But I believe I have what it takes because I am really interested the application of different approaches to tackle medical issues. Furthermore, I believe that it is completely necessary now and in the future for a physician-doctor equipped with a quantitative and analytical background. As our technological understanding and power increases, many of our biggest advances comes in using this quantitation to solve big data problems or to understand the details of the signaling mechanics and physical laws that dictate biology. The frontline of this development must come from doctors who understand both of the medical discipline so these new approaches can be applied to the human and natural systems. This is an immense task but it will be the next big revolution in science and medicine. I would like to be one of these physician scientists and the HST program is the perfect gateway towards that
Biology is a huge, constantly expanding field that requires advanced degrees and specialization in order to be in a position to make discoveries. A personal area of interest is the practice of genetic research. Someone in this field would investigate heredity characteristics in order to predict risks for health conditions, develop specialized pharmaceuticals, organize clinical trials for experimental treatments, as well as helping doctors administer personalized genetic treatment (http://study.com/articles/Genetic_Scientist_Job_Description_Duties_and_Requirements.html). At least a master's degree is required, although a docorate is preferd. The appeal of this career path is understanding the underlying mechanisms which have physical implications
Concentrating on biomedical engineering allows me exactly that. I am currently researching spider silk at Queens College to reduce the spread of Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) like Ebola and influenza. Through this research, I will be able to contribute to future innovations by developing a drug delivery system to prevent contagious diseases. However, I would like to continue researching life-threatening microbes in college. Through biomedical engineering, I can continue my goal by learning about these microbes with a practical lens. Furthermore, biomedical engineering opens various options to reach my goal. As a biomedical engineer, I can go on medical track to provide the patients with first-hand care so they can prevent these diseases or I can become a biomedical professor where I can encourage future engineers like me to further their goal. Through biomedical engineering, I can get closer to making sure that no one else suffers Evelyn’s fate. That is why concentrating in biomedical engineering appeals to
Medical science advances at a pace, more rapidly than ever before. I find myself fascinated by the human body composition which is an outstanding machine and is still in the process of discovery. Furthermore, everyday life of an individual depends upon the medical sciences which pose as a region of proficiency that is repetitively progressing and as consequence is constantly sculpting the existence of incalculable individuals. I am greatly influenced and eager to participate and contribute in this ever-growing Medical field. Genuinely, Genetics and Immunology are the most appealing sectors of biology in my opinion as I find their input mesmerizing. I find immunology thrilling because of the way it represents itself in the concept of science, posing as the organisms shield through defending the body against unsolicited intrusion by pathogens
There are a wide range of jobs in the field of Genetics. Genetics is important because it gives scientists information on the gene’s of the body, heredity, genetic variation, and how each of these things play a part in the function of a living organism. One job in the field of Genetics is a Genetic Counselor. Genetic Counselors work with people who have an inherited risk of acquiring or also carrying certain genetic disorders. They evaluate the family tree to find where the illness stemmed from, who else in the family has had it and the likelihood that they will suffer from it as well. They help patients gain an understanding of the disorder before it occurs so, they will know how to take care of it in the future. Ordering genetic tests in an accurate way to search for illnesses present in a person’s family.
Genetic sequencing has been a ground breaking discovery in the medical field. This process allows a doctor to take a patients DNA and determine what diseases that they are at risk for and what preventative measures they take to help protect the patient from the disease. Some doctors use this process as a last resort to diagnose younger patents when they don’t know what is infecting their patient. The problem that comes with this process is that normally doctors find something in the genetic code that could be life
A genetic researcher or a genetic scientist analyzes hereditary characteristics to develop new pharmaceutical and agricultural products. They also work in clinical settings, as counselors for genetic diseases or physicians administering genetic treatments. A genetic researcher also alters genes in order to improve the biological capabilities of humans, plants and animals. In this field, the main goal is to help people lead quality lives. A genetic researcher is on a path of constant discovery of new combinations and permutations which can enhance the efficiency and optimality of its area of use. For example, trying to improve the quality of genetically modified seeds for better and more efficient growth of plants.
