This semester Geology 1110 has easily been one of my favorite classes. I have loved having Dr. Brock-Hon as my professor simply because of her passion and enthusiasm for the subject. I also really respect her because she understands that for most of us geology is not our major. The class and material covered I thought was going to be boring, but I have actually found it really interesting. I have even started to notice certain rocks and minerals out side of class. This semester I have not missed any class periods for this class. I actually enjoy this class a lot and listening to Dr. Brock-Hon, so I always want to come to class. However, I have been late to class a few times because of the location of my class before this one. I have another class that gets out at 10:50 and is located …show more content…

I know for a fact that the week I was the sickest was when I had the first test for this class. Lack of sleep and stress about not sleeping caused me not to do well on the first exam. For the second exam I felt much better but still stressed. I worked much harder for the second exam but I still ended up with the same grade. I know exactly what I missed on the test and the only thing I can blame is my self. I have ADHD, which means I have a hard time memorizing and remembering certain things. The ADHD also causes me to have test anxiety. I will know the material going in, but once I start the test I start to get anxiety causing me to forget key items on a test. That is what happened with the last test I took. I hate using ADHD as an excuse but that is honestly what happened with this last
Attend the entire class; If you need to leave early, be polite and tell the instructor ahead of time and try to leave at the break to minimize disruption and you should review the audio tape of the class or try to attend the second half of another section’s class to avoid missing important information.

Around the world our water supply is depleting. Our water is becoming contaminated making it harmful for both mammals and aquatic life. Today over one billion people go without adequate water supply and every fifteen seconds a child dies of waterborne illness. Sources of water that once supplied water to millions can no longer meet the supply and demand of the water need. Scientist predict that the amount of useful water will keep depleting greatly in the years to come. In the next couple of pages it will talk about both the geological and human reasons as to why are water supply is depleting.
As a final point, you should not stress yourself out about your grades. Stress and anxiety are common enemies in the lives of teenagers, and when you put more pressure on yourself, they begin to dominate. The more anxious you are about upcoming tests, the less likely you are to pass them. Though good grades are a goal to aim for, they are not worth your mental health deteriorating. Remember to calm down, prepare, and be confident in your work.
The water supply on earth plays a huge role in daily lives. You need to have clean water to drink, do laundry and water your garden. Since water is necessary, the future water supply is very important for future generations. They will need clean water to use daily. Society can not let the water become so polluted and unsanitary that future generations can not use it for their daily needs. Water supply is affected by humans and the area surrounding the water.
Test anxiety is defined as "A fear of failing that you feel before or while taking an important examination, that prevents you from performing as well as you otherwise could on the exam," according to yourdictionary.com. The website mentalhelathy.com, a survey conducted by ChildLine states that 96% of the students surveyed felt anxious or pressured, skipped meals, had problems sleeping , and 14% even drank alcohol because of standardized testing. This is in no way healthy for students. This stress can cause students to perfom poorly on a tes that they know the material for. If students experience test anxiety on a test that determines whether they graduate or move on to the next grade, then the chances of them passing are significantly
Test taking is one of the most nerve-racking things for most people. Most of the time tests can either make or break your grade, especially if it's worth majority of your grade. That fact that one piece of paper can show how much knowledge you have attained is very scary. In my experience of test-taking, I have found out that I get nervous about tests. The first AP Biology test of the year was no exception. To prepare for the test I studied for hours on end, when the day of the test finally came I went to the review session and took the test, and then the day after I was pleased with my results.
Geology is the study of earth surface. Geology deals with the outdoors, which attracts most people. Geology deals with learning about the planets and satellites in the Solar System.

My test anxiety is strong. In certain situations, I feel like I cannot think, like my mind goes blank. The concept of taking a test is more challenging than actually taking the test. My test anxiety causes me to feel like I'm going to fail and that there is no chance that I will get a good grade no matter how hard I try. I tend to feel it the most when I meet big tests such as the SAT and AP exams. At times, some of the material that I’ve learned sticks and I could focus on that, however, most of time I forget what I learned and studied and it all goes blank. I also feel the butterflies in my stomach, my body beginning to shake, and worst of all, I feel like throwing up. Test anxiety caused me to doubt myself in general. To make matters worse, my school at times categorize tests as a big part of your grade and sometimes with that, my grades tend to drop. This has affected me as a student since it causes me to always doubt myself and have poor thoughts to what will happen and I envision bad
I walked into the classroom and sat down next to my teacher (Mrs.Emerick) and we got started first we went over some things about easyCBM and other little test and then we got to my grades, they were not good I had all Cs and maybe one B. I felt like I was being consumed by the dread of my grades. My teacher said that she thought it was because I was rushing through the tests. I thought back to my recent tests and I had tried to be the first one do I was thinking that it might be because of how many sports I played and you had to be
1.1.1 Reading - Geologic Thinking is the example I would like to use to represent my ability to work at a college level. I know that I am cable of doing such work and I know that the writing done for the assignment pervasive that greatly. I know that I have eased on work but that is merely do to external factors that I had not accounted for which took a great deal of my own time, I'm hoping by receiving a second chance at the course that I'll be able to fully show what I am capable of doing if given the opportunity. Side note, I would've included the actual file of the reading itself but it does not show within my dashboard despite knowing that I have submitted the work but it does show the grade of 20/20.
Test anxiety is a very common trait that occurs in many people. You have spent weeks studying for the examination, covered every single topic and read every single material having to deal with the upcoming exam. You walk into the classroom, sit down, and retrieve all your materials that you need. The instructor hands out your exam and gives everyone the confirmation to begin. You open up the exam and start reading the first question, hoping to be familiar with the subject. As you read question after question, you realize that you can't recall the answers to anything that you have just read. According to Salend (2011), this is the time that "you start to panic, your chest gets tight, you get sweaty, you start feeling overwhelmed" (p. 58). Many students suffer from this type of anxiety when it comes to taking examinations that can hinder their performance and well being. Proper studying and adequate preparation can help students overcome test anxiety and help improve their performance. Employing
To be honest, I seldom come early to the campus. Besides my campus is site quite far from my house, traffic jam also becomes the reason that I can’t come early to the campus. Nevertheless, I always attend the class as great as I can. If the class already finish, I’ll absolutely go back to my house soon. However, if I have an appointment with some friends to do the task, I’ll stay on the campus for some time. Occasionally, I still stay in the campus to chitchat with my
