George Washington: What Makes A Perfect Leader?

There have been many great leaders in the past and present who have shaped our world to be the way it is today. Would any of them be considered a perfect leader? Some leaders are commonly known as the best leaders, such as in sports, politics, and history. They had great effects, with many of those effects still in place today. But were they perfect? What qualities did they have as a leader, and what would define a ‘perfect’ leader? Many of the best leaders were great, but only the best can be ‘perfect.’ After long, hard thought and consideration, I decided that a perfect leader would contain most (if not all) of the following traits. Martin Luther King Junior was peaceful in the way he led. He gave motivational speeches, hoping to prevent racism. He kept his composure, through all the racism, and is thought to have been a great leader. However, he found a way to motivate without necessarily being competitive. He was very compassionate, and he was cooperative. Most of all, he was confident in his leadership. George Washington wasn’t too competitive, but he wasn’t sitting content. He was compassionate, motivational, cooperative, and confident. He led America to pull free from Great Britain, and he motivated and pushed America throughout the war. This is just one of many examples I could give of George Washington leading his men. In sports, there are many leaders. You need them to push you, provide a motivational spark, and to show the path. Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Garnett are all great examples. All of them have poise, compassion, leadership, determination and audacity. This is a reason as to why they have accomplished so much during their storied careers. Mother Teresa wasn’t competitive and didn’t exactly motivate, but she was very caring for those around her.
