Global Warming and Its Effects on the Coastal Areas of Bangladesh

Global warming is the recent and ongoing rise of temperature on a global scale. Over the past century, the Earth's average temperature has risen 1.4°F (Carlowicz, 2010). Global warming is the effect of an excessive amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Greenhouse gasses trap heat from escaping back into space to keep the Earth from freezing, this is called the Greenhouse Effect. An excessive amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere trap too much heat, thus, causing Earth's temperature to rise.

Global warming is the rise of average temperature in the earth’s atmosphere since the late 19th century. Since the beginning of the early 20th century, the earths mean surface temperature had increased by around 0.8 degrees. Warming of the climate system had become more obvious and scientists are 90% sure that the main cause of the increase in temperature in due to the increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases due to human activities such as deforestation and burning of fossil fuels.

This warming has been and is a major factor that has contributed to the increase of destructive weather events. As a result of the mosquitoes physically being able to occupy a different vector, certain diseases also begin to expand to occupy that vector as well. As mosquitoes shift the vector of where they live as a result of this global warming, they bring what they have with them. Most of the bugs like warm temperature especially the bugs like mosquitoes and flies. People always get bite by mosquitoes in summer, but can rarely see mosquitoes on winter or fall. Therefore global warming would cause summers become longer these insects like mosquitoes can keep active for longer seasons and also in wider areas.
