I am an active member of my school and community. At school I feel that i've gained the respect of my peers being elected as Student Council representative for the past four years. I have also been elected the treasurer of the choir, and secretary of the band. I am part of the Ross Middle School bucket drumming group and have been casted as part of the school theatre’s annual play. After school on Wednesdays I assist Ms. Rullman in helping students with homework and enhancing study methods. I am currently participating in science olympiad and have in the past. I am also an anchor on the popular Good Morning Ross Middle School weekly news show. In addition, I have been a part of National Junior Honor Society which takes part in service projects
In the spring of 2014, I had decided to run in the election for student council. To my surprise, I was nominated as sophomore class treasurer and secretary.
First and foremost, thank you for being here in support of the student government association. I want to thank our amazing dean Edina for encouraging me to run for vice president of SGA. Many people have asked me why I am running for vice president. Would you ask a fifth grader if he is going to go to the 6th grade? No right because they have to keep going to the next level. Ever since I came to the University of Bridgeport, I constantly looked for ways to become more involved and to keep having an impact in the university. Every year, here at the University of Bridgeport I am involved in something new. Whether it's being an OL, President of a Club or even starting a chapter/club which is known as the food recovery network, with the help of my peers. The food recovery network have recovered more than 300 pounds of food that would otherwise have been thrown out.
Good afternoon everyone, I have decided to go after question one this week regarding to the second great awakening. Just going over the course book readings and sparked my interest to do this section. Religion played a major role within the United States and where people were committing numerous sins. Some were going to become a Methodist, Christian, Catholic, Protestant and Lutheran. Picking a religion wasn't easy for some but easy for others. Take this for example; Methodist and Catholics have two different beliefs when you die and go to heaven. With the Catholic side of things, it believes in happiness will help you go to heaven. While Methodist chooses the salvation and glory which brings the deceased to heaven
Individually, everyone in my class came up with five ideas of changes needed focusing on school, community, and the world. We were split up into two groups, then we shared our ideas with each other, this process is known as a National convention. We had an assigned person to write down everyone’s ideas, and then we all voted on ideas we thought were most important. We continued to minimize the amount of ideas until we got to a five idea party platform. I was in the People’s Party and their platform consisted of: Equal support in sports and clubs, less standardized testing, stricter gun control, remove the Delmar trolley, and less oppression of ethnic groups and religious groups. Almost half of the members in the People’s Party went to the
Zuckerman has been in contact with other university student government presidents and she has noticed that UISG is really empowered and historically they have not taken advantage of that to bring the most change possible. UI administrators have been making strong efforts towards diversity now more than ever before and Zuckerman is trying to set the foundation for the present and the future. Moving forward. “This is the time that student leadership matters more than anything. Students should not underestimate their power, not in politics and not on this
I would love to thank you for your time. I realized that I had went over your office hours, that is, I left 5:15 p.m. Thanks for taking the time to not only listen to my problems, but helping me to solve them. I have been having a difficult and rough transition at the Boca Raton campus. I understand that I am not alone and I am trying to make a difference as a senior student. Also, I think students should be notified of the rules and regulations on all FAU campus. I have seen students back up while parking, but I guess you are not suppose to and I did not know that. I feel so bad that I have been doing all the wrong things in Jupiter. Unfortunately, I learnt the hard way, due to the ticket displayed on my car. Again, you have been of great
Coming into Cactus High School, I was eager to be able to participate in the clubs offered and so far I’m greatly satisfied. Currently I’m in art club and and photo club as a regular member. To say nothing of, student council has been at the top of my list in regards of what had me delighted to start high school since day one. Our current student council is doing fantastic with being active, but I believe we could go even further with our efforts of contribution to give a voice to our fellow students. There is always room for improvement, and I’m sure I could help make it happen. This year, and for those to come if I’m elected, I would like to see the student council body round out and polish it’s relationships as a whole. We could do more fundraisers within the school and plan/participate in events outside of school, like walks for the disabled/needy or organize friendly competitions like school wide scavenger hunts between classes/clubs. I’d love to see student council connect with the other clubs more and plan to do events coinciding with each other. There could be art sales with art club, or stucco could participate and support clubs like robotics at their competitions like we do with our sports teams. So many possibilities and paths have opened up to me since I’ve decided I want to run for vice president in the student council body. I believe we could make these possibilities a reality with hard work and

After a year on the E-Board, I became familiar with the responsibilities that came with being a member of the E-Board. I was confident that I would be a capable leader; therefore, I came to the conclusion that I needed to run for student body President. This was my chance to implement several of my ideas around the school and fabricate a way for the student voice to be notable for the next school year. Luckily, I obtained the role of President due to the fact that I was unopposed. Still, I remained proud for pushing myself towards making Boston Arts Academy an exceptional place.
Student government is an opportunity for students not only to learn responsibility and leadership skills, but also to communicate more intimately with our school and improve our experience. The Junior Council is an extension of this, the next step on the metaphorical ladder. With this in mind I, Lauren Wadsworth, aim to join this council. Further, I am incredibly qualified to do so. I have experience working on the Leadership Team to prepare school events, I am an exemplary student, and I do what I can to make student life more comfortable. From holding open doors to helping with homework, I do my best to make Anthem Prep a better place.
Being a part of Student Council was a major component to what made my first year at Eureka High School unforgettable. I experienced what student council at Eureka is all about and further enhanced my leadership skills. After being on Student Council, I fully understand the qualities and commitment it takes to be a part of such a devoted group. Eureka High School's Student Council requires diligent, responsible, and high-spirited members to achieve the amazing goals it does every year. I understand the responsibilities and qualities needed to be on Student Council which is why I, Briney Beck, would be a great enhancement to Eureka High School’s Student Council.
Observing the actions of the morning students of Queens College has a strange feeling of violating someone space. Before beginning this observation assignment, I am wondering if someone will approach me inquiring for identification or just to ask me what am I doing here. Sorry for such negative feeling but the acts of 911 has everyone on alert (for which is surely justifiable). So, to endure the possibility of having to explain my being to another person will have to do. I guess such inconveniences are small compared to what might happen if we don’t inquiry about weird behaviors.
As a mentor, I would want to the future of UCAN to keep expanding. I would want to see UCAN attract more students and mentors. As part of attracting a larger broad of students, UCAN could expand their mentorship throughout all the high schools in the Santa Cruz County. With a larger body of UCAN mentors, this could be a very likely possibility. Being able to reach a large number of mentees would mean that a larger amount of high students would be taught about their possibilities for higher education, either at universities, community colleges or even vocational school. To expand our number of students we must also have to increase our number of mentors. An easy way to bring in more mentors at the beginning of the quarter can be to host more meetings and reach out at more events. At the beginning of the fall quarter the SOAR outreach program hosts an event that raises awareness of organizations around campus, this event is great opportunity to attract mentors. Another possibility could be to partner with organizations with newsletters that could sponsor us in the newsletter. Potential increasing the number of mentors will increase the number of high school students that we can help navigate their way through the college process.
When there is a lack of professors at a college or institution, many classes become over-capacitated. Some students find it very hard to completely understand what the professor is teaching because there are so many students in the class. For example, students could be disturbed by that one student always chomping on crunchy chips during the lesson, excessive gossiping from a group of students in the back of class, or maybe even by the way the teacher speaks or pronounces their words. Although an over capacitated class could be very disturbing, it is the student’s responsibility to find a way to intake all information needed to prepare for exams. There are many ways to prepare for an exam depending on how much time is spent studying, what area is used to study, and whether or not the student received the correct amount of sleep prior to the exam. The type of exam preparation that the college student uses depends on whether the student is over achieving, average, or carefree. There are also many benefits and disadvantages that come along with being an over achieving, average, or carefree student.
