The hardware required for graphical images:
Graphics card – To produce a display with resolution and color depth that the user needs and that the monitor can run. With a graphics card, a user would be able to produce the best graphics they can and make sure that it works and can be viewed correctly. The graphics card uses digital information from the operating system and creates a signal what the display can understand. The signal usually goes through the video cable to the monitor. This is what it uses to create the picture. The Higher priced graphics card may be able to produce a higher resolution and color depth.
RAM – The ram is mostly used to hold programs and any files the user has opened. The RAM has a constant flow of data between …show more content…

Card readers are often built into newer computers and laptops. If there is not built in card reader a USB connected card reader can be used. The card readers are designed to access data on any type of digital memory card. There are different types of memory cards that can be used, these may vary in size, price, and storage capacity.
File storage – File storage is required to save and store the images so they can be used again, modified, backed up and sent to a third party. File storage can be a hard drive, CD ROM, flash cards and a USB storage device. Hard drives are the most commonly used file storage for graphical files as it is quick and easier to open as software’s tend to look there first due to the computer system’s default settings. Many computer systems have CD-ROMS and DVD drives, these can also be used to store files but must be a type of storage that the computer supports. Many digital cameras also use flash cards to store digital graphics.
USB devices – There are many different types of USB devices that are designed to input or move graphics images to other devices or other USB devices like a digital camera.
Input devices – An input device is anything that allows you to enter data into a computer system. A mouse is a commonly used input device for many computer systems, however some IT professionals who specialize in digital graphics may prefer to use a graphics tablet.
