The definition of great is to be dominant,superior than others that are associated in the same field as you such as in love,work,sports performance and in any field where there is competition. Greatness is an intangible object that can’t be measured. It is a word associated with those who are different from others in their own unique way that makes them great, The title of the novel written by author F.SCOTT FITZGERALD is quite ironic,the title character is neither ‘great’ nor named Gatsby. He is a criminal whose real name is Jamez Gatz, and the life he has created for himself is all an illusion to show to the world. Gatsby is an obsessed individual who has the hunger to achieve his dreams no matter what’s at stake. The only person who thinks Gatsby as great is the indirect writer of the book and a friend of Mr Gatsby. Mr Nick Carraway.

Gatsby has an obsession rather than a passion. He spent his entire life chasing a dream, only to be cut down by the same dream which he chased, he fell in love with his imagination of Daisy, and failed to accept that the real Daisy could never reach the standards of what Gatsby wanted. Gatsby didn’t achieve anything in his life his entire reputation was based on a lie in fact Gatsby himself wasn’t real he was an imagination and illusion created by Jamez Gatz on who he wants to be and that imagination lead to another imagination known as Daisy Buchanan.
