My favorite myth is greek gods like Zeus and Hades.My favorite greek god is Zeus that is also the name of my dog.But the reason I like him is that he can throw lightning he is the god of lightning.His brother is Hades the god of death and he was summoned to the underworld by Zeus.Zeus and Hades had another brother and he is the god of the sea his name is Poseidon.Poseidon had a son named Percy Jackson he also has the power to control the sea.Also, the brothers had three sister's their names are Demeter the goddess of harvest.Hesita the god of hearth.hera the god of marriage and birth.so they had one big happy family............not.

Since the beginning of time the people of the world have their share of beliefs. Greek mythology is the arguably the most popular region of study. In Ancient Greece every citizen had a patron that would protect them and pantheism was commonplace. The Romans admired the Greeks in their art and culture and even took different aspects of their gods. Polytheism was widely accepted in all cultures so the seed of mythology bloomed. The time line of the creations of gods to the end of their reign is an important factor in Greek Mythology.
In this paragraph will be information on Greek Gods and Goddesses. There was a governing body for the Grecians. This mythological group was very important. They were usually the reason for war and many believed that they were so superior that they would bring disease and death upon others that they dislike or the people that would try to out shine them. They were called The Olympians. There were twelve Olympians, however before I name them there actually were 13, but Hestia gave up her position for Dionysus. There was Zeus, Poseidon, Hermes, Hephatus, Hera, Demeter, Aphrodite, Athena, Artimes, Dionysus, Aries (Ares or Aris), and Apollo.” (Greek Gods and Goddesses) There was one other God that is also very important to the Olympians. His name was Hades and he was the God of the Dead. He was not considered an Olympian though because he was always to be in the Underworld. Hades had one day decided that he wanted a partner however

Zeus ruled the skies, Poseidon the sea and Hades the underworld. Then there were the second generation of gods which includes Apollo, Ares, Artemis, Athena, Dionysus, Hephaestus, and Hermes. Apollo was the god of music, Ares was the god of war and Athena was the god of wisdom and crafting. Dionysus was the god of wine, Hephaestus was the god of fire and blacksmithing and Hermes was the messenger god.

When you think about God or Gods, you usually picture something that is supposedly majestic, extraordinary, and simply beyond the understanding of humanity. You do not immediately think of beings ruled by emotions and blinded by arrogance such as the Greek Gods depicted in the works of Homer. Homer’s representation of the Olympians paints them in a not so favorable light, as many of the Gods are portrayed as petty, immoral beings that egregiously tamper with mortal affairs.

Mythology is an essential part of describing the origin and culture of different areas in ancient time. While different cultures believe in different Gods and origins of the world, it is still interesting to see how these stories played huge roles in the way people lived life in the past. Cultures such as ancient Greece and Egypt worshipped many different Gods and had a completely set of beliefs and ways of life. While nobody actually knows how these myths came to the forefront, or if actually there were real Gods doesn’t really matter because people still believed in them based on faith and hope. In India however, the same rule cannot be applied. Gods and demons are brought into the most common legends. Zeus is the Big boss of the gods and he controls the sky. He is pretty popular and is known for his addiction to women. Poseidon controls the waters and is fairly popular among the gods and the last is Hades who is the god of the underworld, he is very unpopular and is known for being antisocial. There were also what are known as the twelve Olympians which is basically a council of the lesser gods. This council was made up of the following gods: Zeus (sky), Hera (marriage and child birth), Poseidon (sea), Demeter (agriculture, fertility and the harvest), Athena (wisdom and good council), Apollo (music, poetry and art), Artemis (hunting, virginity), Ares (war), Aphrodite (love, beauty), Hephaestus (fire, metalworking and forging), Hermes (messenger of the gods, trade, thieves and sports) and either Hestia (goddess of the hearth), or Dionysus (fertility and wine).
