Green Day in the 2015 Rock Hall of Fame
Since 1983, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has been a place of dedication to showing the history of some of the best and most important artists, producers, engineers and others who have influenced the music industry. Every year since it has been established, they have held a ceremony inducting groups, individual artists and others into its records. They have had 30 ceremonies, and inducted almost 750 people into their hall. The museum helps educate people on the history and impact that music has had on our society. Green Day, who is a famous for popularizing and reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the United

He created a team to help him accomplish the task that included attorney Suzan Evans, Rolling Stone magazine editor and publisher Jann S. Wenner, attorney Allen Grubman and record executives Seymour Stein, Bob Krasnow and Noreen Woods. The Foundation began inducting artists in 1986, however they still hadn’t found a location for the actual physical address for the museum. The search committee considered several cities, including Memphis, Detroit, Cincinnati, New York City, and Cleveland, all of which were home to major record companies until they decided on Cleveland on the permanent location. The building was finally finished in 1995, and has since had more than 8.5 million visitors, and brought in over 1.8 billion dollars to Cleveland’s economy. The museum has had many rotating exhibits over the years and has even paid tribute to those who have been nominated for the honor of becoming inducted into the hall of …show more content…
American Idiot that was released in 2004, was number one on the Billboard charts, and was the band's first album to reach number one. The album was then labeled as a punk rock opera in which it follows the journey of the fictitious "Jesus of Suburbia". The album was released two months before U.S. President George W. Bush was reelected, and then the album had became protest art. In 2005, American Idiot won the Grammy for Best Rock Album, and the band also won a total of seven out of eight awards for which they were nominated, including the Viewer's Choice Award at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2005. On January 10, 2006, the band was awarded a People's Choice Award as favorite musical group or
I have chosen to write about one of my favorite alternative rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers from Los Angeles, California. My decision was based upon two things; one being I like the band, while the other was to learn if some of their music is sending the wrong message to our young people. I personally would not consider myself music sappy; never have I really been given a chance to listen to music as I grew up, to find what I like. As of today, I don’t know who sings what song nor really know what the lyric’s mean. With today’s environment young people are given a chance to be inspired by different kinds of media; thus giving them the opportunity to actually find out what the artist is meaning behind the songs. After interviewing four participation;

Many people do not realize what it means to be a musician, much less a famous musician. You need to be smart, talented and charasmatic. Dave grohl has achieved all three of these things. He has completed the goals of many young men, including myself. Dave has been in many successful bands and written and performed multiple hit songs. Dave Grohl Has many admirable attributes but considering my time constraints, I will only touch a few of them.
A person must be somehow affiliated to Rock & Roll the person doesn’t have to be a singer or musician. One other condition for being added to the museum is that if a person is a performer they can only be elidable for admission after their first album has been out for 25
Music has been evolving for hundreds of years, leading to major breakthroughs starting in the late 1950s, early 1960s. There are many different types of music genres, which all have different sounds. We have the blues, folk music, classical, country, hip-hop, pop, reggae, and rock and roll. Rock and roll has continued to grow since the 1950s. Some of the most iconic music comes from the 1980s, especially from the hair-bands.
American Idiot, released in 2004, has been changing the lives of rock and rollers all around the world. It expresses a generation shaped by many important events such as the Iraq war. American Idiot was actually originally meant to be Cigarettes and Valentines, but when the master tapes were stolen Green Day decided rather than re-record the material, they’d started fresh. This concept album and “punk rock opera” consists of vocalist/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt. For much of the group's career, the band has been a trio with drummer Tré Cool, who replaced former drummer John Kiffmeyer in 1990 prior to the recording of the band's second studio album, Kerplunk (1991). In 2012, guitarist Jason White became an official member after having performed with the band as a touring member since 1999. Green day started of in Berkeley, CA, and since then has been all over the world touring and spreading their music.

Daft Punk is an electronic music group made up of two French members, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. Daft Punk began to earn fame in the late 1990's during the popularity of house music in France and found major success in the following years. Originally they were a duo named "Darlin" which didn't last long and left the two to experiment with music each on their own. The two re-joined forces and became Daft Punk and released their 1997 album "Homework" which earned many positive reviews.
The heavy metal band Judas Priest was known for being one of the most popular and most respected heavy metal bands on the planet. Even though they have had many members, they have made a huge impact in the heavy metal genre. They were hugely influenced by two of the most popular and well known heavy metal bands of all time.
Previously, we brought you part one of our list of 15 interesting facts about the Sex Pistols. Now, we bring you eight more facts about the iconic British punk band whose music and attitude sparked an entire movement in just a short amount of time.
Among these accusations was the fact that Green Day was a supposedly punk rock band with a major record label, an ironic twist on the anarchy and independence that so many punk rock bands represent. Billy Joe Armstrong actually commented on the group’s status as a punk rock band by saying “…we’re this big band now. We’ve made a lot of money. We’re not punk rock anymore… You can take us out of a punk rock environment, but you can’t take the punk rock out of us”. Although some avid punk rockers may argue that Green Day is not a true punk rock band, it is indisputable that Green Day created popular music that received high ratings.
The band Sonic Youth was brought to the New York hardcore scene in the 1980s. Like a lot of rock bands the Sonic Youth was started by two college dropouts. Lee Ranaldo and Thurston Moore moved to New York City and became encouraged by the artistic scene of New York. They fell in to the “underground” music world, which had formed after the fall in popularity of punk music. The bands of New York were driven toward a new sound in music. It was in New York were Moore met Kim Gordon. Gordon was a bass player that enjoyed the no-wave scene. After meeting drummer Richard Edson, the band Sonic Youth was born, and they took to New York’s alternative music scene. Their biggest influence was a composer named John Cage. Cage took to making classical music
Green Day considered itself to be punk. Infact, many people consider them to be one of the greatest punk rock bands of all time, along with Blink 182 and Sum 41. Founding members Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt grew up closely associated with the punk scene near Berkeley, and for the first 15 years of its existence the boys pumped out top-40 three-minute hits about masturbating, smoking marijuana, and being pissed off. However, in 2004, Green Day showed it had matured immensely and changed style significantly with its release of the concept album “American Idiot.” A concept album is an album that tells a story throughout. There can be little uncertainty that One Direction are a standout amongst the best groups in cutting edge history. The actualities represent themselves, One Direction have had five raving success collections, four huge world visits, and a rundown of recompenses that is basically eye-watering. Obviously, a few components in the media like nothing superior to take pot-shots at achievement and it appears that some are urgent to thump One Direction's prosperity. In some ways, One Direction are a simple focus for the nay-sayers, to a great extent as a consequence of their X-Factor roots.
