Analysis learning: Through this group learning experience I observed children are confident and involved learners. As children resource their own learning through connecting with people, place, technologies and natural and processed materials. (DEEWR,2009). During the incursion, children understand themselves well, and are confident in asserting what they comfortable with. They participate in the learning experience provided, gaining the understanding of being responsible participant in a large group activity. As children confidently connect with their environment, the people and materials by asking questions and communicate with their peers to expand their awareness about the things. They able to transfer of prior knowledge to the different
For example, during a cooking activity children are learning many skills through this creative process, they may feel happy and excited about cresting their own food. They are sociable by working with adults to assist them and cooking for
Group activity can also be an opportunity for individual children to be heard and to develop relationship with other children. Here are different group activities which will give individual children to be heard such a:-
“When groups are planned so that each member's strengths have authentic importance to the ultimate success of the group's activity, this creates a situation where individual learning styles, skills, and talents are valued, and students shine in their fortes and learn from each other in the areas where they are not as expert.”(Willis)
It allows groups to use the situation in the learning environment to develop their social interaction skills e.g. meeting new people, and share ideas. This enhances the group’s experiences, promotes collaboration, can develop their social relationships skills and allows opportunity for peer
What expectations/goals do you have for your use of this strategy? After we have a couple of opportunities to use this task I would like for the student’s to give meaningful I wonder….. I think…… comments.
As a pre-service teacher it is important to shift the mindset of students from thinking of getting the right answer and instead encourage critical thinking. The purpose of group learning activities is to help struggling students. To properly implement heterogeneous groups in my teaching I will make sure to articulate my goals during group work, and include academic objectives. I want to make sure that students achieve social skills that they may want to develop. It is critical to helping groups get started therefore I will explain the group’s task. I will explain how the task involves individual accountability, and how they will be assessed throughout the process. During group work monitoring and regularly observing group interactions and progress, by circulating during group work is something I would do as a teacher. Circulating during group work will make it easy to observe problems, allowing me to intervene and help students move forward on the task. I think getting different perspective is important and I plan on discussing with future colleagues what works best and what curriculum we are finding more
This first group activity allowed me to watch how these individuals interacted with each other in a controlled environment versus their every day lives when they thought no one was watching. In the beginning the group was reserved and somewhat timid. During the course of these activities these individuals cheered for each other and encouraged each other. I had not seen these individuals encouraging each other or uplifting each other at any other time. There were no negative comments only fun and laughter.
In my problem base learning group, we had to solve a problem about incorporating problem based learning in the school. At first was hard to understand how to begin the project but being able work with other students, it helped to clear up any confusion. In this school, we only had limited amount of space and supplies. My group decided to meet together and present a powerpoint that would solve this problem. During our brainstorming process, we all came up with different ideas to solve the issue. My group decided to show a powerpoint that explained how to solve problem, an example of a lesson plan, and statistics on the benefits of problem based learning.
Group activities with constincy is helping the child to become better at what he or she is doing. my sons activity is sports. he does bear crawls every day and being consistant with the bear crawls he gets better every day .consistancy is imporant in a childs every day life .
I have been in many group project where the group decides based on the ideas that not always the best because not everyone says their idea. When I am in a group project I try to ask everyone’s opinion because someone could have a brilliant idea or talent to make the project awesome. I see where going though and yeah group projects is also the main area I have seen groupthink happen.
Thus I gained confidence in my knowledge and professionalism as an educator and can apply it into my current work. For example, the Social Learning Theory explains how children grow and develop through their everyday learning and what the significant factors are in child development. Importantly, children learn and grow while they play. Thus, as an educator, it is essential to understand the influence of their everyday experiences. Children's curiosities enrich their lives. Therefore, children need to be offered places and time to explore and expand their world. Nowadays, children start to work hard for their academic success from young ages yet need to receive time to use their senses to satisfy their curiosities. Ultimately, I would like to offer children the learning experiences that satisfy their curiosities and
Findings: It is identified that 87% of the 75 lessons learned reported from Ibero-American universities for their information literacy programs are also identified in other contexts (65 lessons). These similarities give an account of the possibilities of collaborative learning and benchmarking that INFOLIT programs can take advantage of, if there is more networking, more common participation in sharing their experiences, and from the same, with the appropriate adaptations in the contextual, technological and idiomatic (differences), develop exchanges regarding: contents, didactics, learning objects and evaluation.
Interpersonal learning in a group setting occurs by way of learning about self. In order for the group to work effectively, group members must feel safe and must have the ability to be honest with themselves as well as their group members. This allows the group members to view you as authentic and human. While in group, one must be aware of the impact you have on group members and being willing to self-reflect in efforts to progress. While in the group setting, several concepts are taught in hopes that members will utilize them inside, as well as outside of the group in their everyday life to create a positive lifestyle. This is referred to as social microcosm. Social microcosm is highly important as it “is a keystone of the entire approach
Primary care group work assignment is an ideal opportunity for regular stream student and IMG student to learn and practise their knowledge in team environment. It gives invaluable experience in team work with different students with different level of knowledge. Our group is an example of an ideal team any organization is willing to have, because team create very deep level of discussion about given clinical scenario with different views but ultimately team is able to come to a decision. Most importantly at the end of the assignment everybody reach mutual agreement about diagnosis, treatment plan etc. And able improve their knowledge immensely. Other important aspect we observe during this short period
Children will learn how to share and take turns with each other while engaging in an activity as a small group.
