The problem that i will be talking is about, what are the challenges that schools faces to success. I think we can solve this problems by getting better at mindset (Fixed and Growth) and grit and by trying to stop gangs and drugs into schools. The first objective we are going to talk about is Mindset (Fixed and Growth). Goals, dreams, and commitments, all have one thing in common, they need to have the right mindset to be accomplished. The definition of mindset used by many professors and is stated as, “A fixed mental attitude or disposition that predetermines a person's responses and interpretations of situations.” Mindset isn't fixed though; even though most people associate the word ‘fixed’ when referring to mindset. The “growth mindset” argues this definition used by the majority of people. The growth mindset is a “simple idea” articulated by, Stanford University psychologist, Carol Dweck. She researched the idea of achievement and success; a simplified concept that allowed her to come across this philosophy.

At the end of my middle school career, I had managed to become a part of an amazing friend group, I had fantastic grades, and I was doing well in all aspects of my teenage life. We are not stuck with what we are born with; each person’s true potential is unknown, and any mind can be cultivated. Like digging up new ground, the old dirt is broken and mixed with the newer soil, creating a new rich environment for growth, but it takes a lot of effort, time, energy, and perseverance. Seeking challenges and avoiding comfort may be the deciding factor between moving forward or standing still.
In order to go from a fixed to a growth mindset and stay there requires effort. One cannot go on a diet and lose weight to just turn around and gain it back and then start all over again. Change can be difficult for anyone and Dweck says the following about maintaining the growth mindset. “Mindset change is not about picking up a few pointers here and there. It’s about seeing things in a new way. When anyone changes to a growth mindset, they change from a judge-and-be-judge framework to a learn-and-help-learn framework” (2016, p. 254). Change is not easy. Change takes time. Change takes effort. Are those not all of the things Dweck says is a growth mindset?
There are certain times when I feel like I can’t be what I want to be because of some aspects like the competitive and high standards schools. I thought that maybe I wasn’t good enough to achieve my goals. I worry about paying tuitions, finding jobs and starting my own business. That goal is me being a Dentist and starting up my own clinic someday.
Something that could be considered bias in this work could be the fact that Dweck focuses on writing positive things about growth mindset and only negative things when it comes to fixed mindset. Since she did not provide any positive aspects of fixed mindsets or negative aspects of growth mindsets we could consider that she is in favor of growth mindsets. Writers should provide both points of views, not only one. This piece of work could had been better if Dweck had provided a counterargument.
A growth-mindset classroom community allows students to be rewarded for showing effort and progress towards challenging learning tasks (Dweck, 2010).

A. The time I found out I had a Fixed mindset about games that I play on the PlayStation 4. A couple of my friends wanted to play the new black ops game that just came out that weekend, so we decided that we would go to Mario’s house (Mario is my best friend) after school because his parent just bought him the game. At Mario’s house we went straight to his room and stated up his PlayStation 4, we loaded up the game a got right into it. There were four of us so we had to decided how we wanted to play, after 5mins of yelling at each other Mario’s mother came into the room and told us to just play on a 4 way split screen. We were all excited to play the new black ops game, Mario picked a map and we jumped right into the game, everything was going well for the first 5mins then I stated to realize how far behind I was from the rest of my friends on points, I didn’t pay it any mind because we were all having fun. After that day we all decided that we would go to Mario’s house every Friday and play on his PlayStation 4. After the first week of going to Mario’s house any playing the new black ops game I stated to realize how I wasn’t improving as fast as my other friends were and I didn’t like the feeling so I decided to stop playing the new black ops game when I went to Mario’s house. Growth mindset, executive function, and empathy are three habits of mind that can help people achieve their goals. If you have a growth mindset it means that you feel that you can always improve with whatever you do. The brain is like a muscle because muscle can get stronger and your brain can get stronger. You need persistence with this process because you need to keep at it until you have completed your goal rather than giving up. The skateboarding video is an example of a growth mindset because the boy failed so many times and got hurt badly but he never gave up. He finally landed the trick but it took him 2 years. Growth mindset is extremely important to have because the outcomes will be worth it. It is not too late to change your mindset to a growth mindset because you will gain the ability to avoid mistakes from the past, attain courage, welcome difficult tasks, and earn more knowledge. If you have a fixed mindset, say goodbye to it and change it to growth mindset if you wish to have these abilities. Growth mindset will push you to your limit and you will receive what you thought you couldn't. As long as you believe that the brain can be malleable and use correct strategies to strengthen the brain, you can begin to achieve anything and everything.
