This is about having weapons in public areas and my thoughts on this subject. I think that you should be able to have guns in public because you have to be able to protect yourself from threats, if not you are unable to protect yourself or anyone very effectively. Also have you realized that before gun control there were not nearly as many problems and worries about school shootings bomb threats and all that stupid stuff. I don't believe that taking away guns and weapons from public areas shouldn’t be allowed and isn't it said that in the constitution that you have the right to bear arms so why can't you have them in public I just don't understand what they hope to accomplish. Constantly I can hear people complaining about how the government
ProCon.org recently featured an article that studied gun control. “Stricter state gun laws associated with fewer gun deaths, study finds.” The article discussed gun control laws in states with stricter laws tend to have lower rates of gun related homicides, and a suicide (ProCon para. 1) Gun control in the United States is becoming a wide spread issue and is becoming a problem everywhere. Although I am living in a city with uprising crime that has been skyrocketing over the years, I wasn’t aware of this being an issue all over the United States. I decided to do some research to find out whether I am in favor of Gun control laws or not. After reviewing many articles for and against gun control, I found out that I do in fact agree with
The issue of gun control dates back to the 17th century. There have been debates whether the government of the United States should adopt gun control or not and whether it is good for its citizens or not. As a result, two opposing groups have been formed; one supporting guns control and the other one against. According to statistics a big percentage of crimes committed in the United States are as a result of possession of guns and other firearms among citizens. In surveys carried out since 1999, over 20% of gun owners said that they owned the guns for protection. According to them, they use the guns to protect themselves against the increasing crimes. However, not all gun owners use the guns for protection; some use them to commit crimes thereby bringing in the issue of gun control. The United States government need to formulate laws and regulations to control gun ownership especially pro-guns (Spitzer p34-35).
Gun laws and regulations in Florida control the sale, ownership, and use of firearms and ammunition in Florida.
In 2012, a 20-year-old man wearing war fighting equipment and number of weapons to force his way into a school in Newtown, Connecticut, and killed 26 teachers/children. That occasion followed two other crowd murders in 2012, an attack on an Aurora, Colorado, Movie Theater in which a murderer murdered twelve and wounded fifty eight more people, and an attack on a Sikh temple in Milwaukee in which six believers were shot to death and three others hurt.
The City of Stockton, California is a mid-sized city and is located approximately sixty-five miles east of the San Francisco Bay Area. The U.S. Census report of 2010 depicts that Stockton is California’s thirteenth largest city. It has a very diverse population of two hundred ninety-one thousand and seven hundred and seven. About a third of the Stockton population is of Latino or Hispanic origin (Braga 2008, p. 334).
People could get firearms through the legitimate channel by having a handgun safety certificate, background check, and carry license in the United States. The gun control theme has been discussed in the last few years. The hot topic discussing that should we banned the right to own a gun as functional protection. Few people who owns a gun have few committing of violent crimes which like school shooting, suicide, and homicide in America. As the number of the gun holder increasing, the number of death rate increasing every year. For this horrible issue, there are four main reasons to support banning gun which including gun violence, mental health, second amendment, and the negative of self-defense.
Changing the gun control laws in the United States has been a hot topic, especially with the recent tragic stories. Gun control is the set of laws that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification and use of firearms. Guns are an unsafe weapon that cannot be stopped, which is causing a big problem in the United States. Some people believe that there should be stricter gun laws and some think otherwise. Stricter gun control laws will not make the United States a safer environment.
Say the words, “Gun free society.” How does it make you feel? Does it make you feel safe? Does it sound sensible? Can you imagine a world where hundreds of innocent people do not die by the bullets of guns every year? The United States posses most of the world’s gun, also, these guns fall into the wrong hands such as, mentally ill, children, and abusive people. Indeed, the change will be strenuous, however, a world where our children can experience peace and live without fear is a world that is worth fighting for. In fact, it is a world that we all deserve right now. Overall, if we yearn to end gun violence, it is essential that we urgently ban automatic
Guns, they have come a long way since the muzzleloaders our founding fathers first used, but does that change what they are or what they represent? Many people think that our modern technology needs to be regulated by the government. Members of our government agree with these people, using such terms as implied powers as there excuse for trying to hack away at our Second Amendment rights. Our government should not make gun laws more strict, it not only goes against our constitutional rights but also puts civilians in harm of violent crimes such as murder and mass shootings.
More than a third of Americans say they or someone in their household owns a gun. Guns are used for a variety of purposes, such as hunting, self defense, target shooting, for historical purposes, and so on. Most of the time the owners of these guns are responsible law abiding citizens and only in a small minority has a gun been used as a weapon intended to invoke harm upon someone. Some law makers and citizens have suggested creating and enforcing more gun control policies. These policies would more than likely make little or no difference in the number of yearly casualties because criminals don't care about the laws and will obtain a gun illegally and these restrictions go against the 2nd amendment.
December 14, 2012 was just a normal day for the residents of Newtown, Connecticut; one being Nicole Hockley. Friday morning, she woke herself up along with her two sons. She got them ready for school, fed them breakfast, and walked them to the bus stop like always. About an hour later after Jake and Dylan had arrived at school, a twenty-year-old man named Adam Lanza shot his way into the school killing six educators and twenty children. When Nicole got to the school she found out that Jake was safe, but Dylan had been shot multiple times and died in his teacher’s arms; she too was killed in the attack. For the next two years Nicole and her husband had to watch their son Jake grow up while it was as if Dylan was frozen in time. Nicole is now
One way the United States addresses gun control and gun violence is through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The Bureau is in charge of reducing the possible risk of public safety with illegal gun trafficking, criminal possession, and use of firearms, and enforcing compliance with federal laws, and regulation of the gun industry.
What is it about gun ownership that frightens the government? Would passing gun control REALLY result in fewer crimes? In my opinion taking the guns away from American citizens will not only take away their self-defense, but it will also allow the criminals to get away with more knowing that their target is no endangerment to them without any kind of firearm. United States citizens should have the right to gun ownership for self-defense and assured safety.
Guns can be extremely dangerous and cause physical harm—the chance of this increases exponentially when proper gun safety regulations aren’t followed. Target World, a shooting range and archery center in Cincinnati, follows a strict line of safety regulations, and encourage their patrons to practice caution at all times. They’ve helped to underline some of the basic steps that people can take in order to be safe at the gun range.
These days it seems that every day there is a mass shooting. Gun laws allow people who should not have access to any type of weapon at all, to legally purchase guns. Gun restrictions need to be stricter and there need to be fewer weapon products available to civilians.
