The United States has 88.8 guns per 100 people. As a country the United States has approximately 270,000,000 guns. Both categories top the world. 22% of gun owners own two or more firearms. This gun wave had very humble beginnings from westward expansion to the revolutionary war and to the Second Amendment. This controversial amendment states: "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

This method would be able to determine if the person has had any felonies, other major convictions, or any previous or current gang affiliation. The American Gun Laws should be stricter. There are many deaths every day due to guns not being in the right hands. Guns can take out somebody’s life in an instant, now think for a minute. What if you just lost one of your closest family members to a gun? Gun control laws need to be a lot more strict because the U.S. alone loses over 30,000 people a year due to gun related deaths.That’s over 87 people going down every day (Watkins). There are many countries that have strict gun laws which help with gun deaths. Japan and Singapore have the strictest rules regarding gun ownership. In Japan to own a gun you need to get background checks, drug and mental tests, as well as formal instruction and this, could take as long from days to weeks. In Singapore, Civilians are not allowed to have guns at all. If they want to target shoot, they must get a License and permit ownership. They also have to make sure that it is securely stored in an approved and protected firing range, and is not taken out of the firing range without special permission.
