Gun control is a law that controls how guns are sold and used, and who can own them. Allowing people to possess and use a gun with legal documents in the United States is legal. There have been arguments on whether or not is should be legal to own a gun as some people see it as beneficial and others do not. It is believed that guns are beneficial to have, and they are there because we need to be able to protect ourselves. We should not allow the government to have power over gun control for many reasons including the loss of tradition of hunting, not being able to protect ourselves, and simply because of the second amendment.

Gun control has been a long debate to determine if it’s better to have stricter access to firearms. America is one of the few countries that has gun rights embedded in their constitution. But what makes the US exceptional is that it has the right to keep and bear arms, other countries do not provide the right to have access to them, but rather, the government is allowed to regulate its use. The right to bear arms has also been the cause of growing violence and crime, at least according to anti-gun lobbyists. Citizens should be aware the dangers and harm that guns present to society. Controlling the sale of firearms can greatly decrease the number of violent crimes.

Weapons have been a big problem to the United States for many years now. People have access to many weapons just as easy as the US Military does. The people of the US can both go to a gun store and buy a weapon at the age of sixteen, or they can make a deal with anyone in the streets of the US. Because of the accessibility to weapons, Americans can cause collateral damage in the neighborhood they live in. They can also commit robbery, or go anywhere and start shooting.

Gun Control in the United States has gone out of control. The United States should enforce laws to not allow any guns in a house hold in order to reduce violence and crime in the country. Reducing the rate of crime in the United States, controlling big weapons, taxing ammunition, and gun collection can help make this happen. Gun Control can make this country a safer environment to live in.

Gun control in the United States is a controversy that is talked about every single day. The topic of gun control tracks back from when the second amendment was created. Since 1791 when the second amendment was instituted, individuals of the United States have had no issue with it until the 20th century. When people started speaking about open carry and talking about which kinds of guns were allowed to be bought and registered for civilian usage. Questions ranging from why it was necessary for a civilian to carry an AR-15, was controversial because people thought that there was no reason for someone to carry that unless you were in the military and have a thorough background check.

More recently, a study done in 2013 by the Center for Disease Control found out that there were a total of 33,169 deaths with the use of firearms and more than half were a result of suicide. These statistics have sparked an extensive amount of modern debates on whether we as an American democracy need to amend the second amendment and regulate the purchase of as well as the right to individually bear arms. Gun control is different for different countries. Some states in the US have decided to change things for themselves since they aren’t many federal laws for gun control. Gun control is something that is different depending on where you live in the US. For example, in some states, there are strict gun laws where as in others there are barely any and it is very easy to get your hands on a gun. Many people get angry when they hear the words “gun control” because they do things like hunt and need guns to do so. Many others just like having guns for self-defense and feel safer with a gun on them.

Most homicides in the United States are believed to be from death by gun. Gun control is supposed to help lower that number and the crime rate. Policies and laws for gun control are trying to regulate the sale, manufacturing, transfer, possession, modification, or the use of a firearm. What that means is the government cannot take away our rights to own weapons.

Gun control has been an issue in the United States for multiple decades. For example, in 1692, Massachusetts colonies did not allow firearms in public places Maryland’s, early laws prevented slaves, former slaves, and Roman Catholics from owning firearms. What is gun control? Gun control is the government controlling what a person can and cannot do with their guns. In the United States there is about 200,000,000 guns, which is about as many people as there is in the country (Carter). If a person is deprived of all their gun privileges, crime would be at a major high, because people wouldn’t be able to defend themselves from others. If someone robs a person’s house in the middle of the night, many people would prefer a gun to defend themselves than whatever is closest, like an umbrella. People do not fully understand guns, or what gun control actually is; therefore people have to understand or society could be in trouble. On September 5th, 2017 a deranged man by the name of Devin Kelley charged into a church and killed 25 people including an infant. Devin then was shot at by a law abiding man who stepped onto his porch with his legal gun, and opened fire upon Devin, who then fled until he was chased down by another gun carrying man until Devin ended his own life. Had many of the people been carrying their own handguns in the church they may have been able to open fire on Devin themselves and kill him or make him flee before all 26 people died. Although the government does need to tighten down on their background checks, guns should remain legal: they are an equalizer, guns don’t kill people, people kill people, and making guns illegal will not stop people from obtaining them from previous historical events.

The legality of having guns and possessing firearms in the United States of America is well engraved within the Second Amendment of the nation’s constitution. However, the issue of gun regulation has remained a central topic in America’s public. Some people advocate for a total ban on gun possession, while others are totally against this idea. The shooting incident in Las Vegas weeks ago has raised controversial debates in the United States of America. In fact, the White House is concerned on the stand that President Trump will take on the issue of stricter gun laws. One of the cities that has gained the attention of both the legislators on this topic is Chicago. For its reputation for its low rate of gang arrests, lax punishments for gun law violations, and comparatively weak laws in accordance with surrounding states, it is justifiable to say that Chicago’s daily shootings are a clear indicator that strict state gun laws don’t work.

The vast majority of industrialized countries have strict gun-control regulations. For example, Japan places restrictions on the possession and use of all firearms except in limited instances (e.g., hunting, athletic events, and research). Canada permits the possession and use of firearms for competitions and target practice, but it forbids the possession of handguns unless an individual can show that a handgun is needed for self-defense. The United Kingdom has banned handguns altogether and limits the possession of firearms to activities such as hunting, target shooting, pest control, and slaughtering. Meanwhile, Germany permits the ownership of certain firearms so long as an individual meets the requirements for a firearms ownership license, which include that the applicant be age 18 or older and have expert knowledge in the handling of firearms and have the necessity to possess such firearms.
