7b. *Do you think a teenager is ready for those challenges? Why or why not? (10 points) No, not really. They are still learning to develop what they believe, and need to differentiate wants and needs, which can still be hard to do. As for discipline, they need to develop a sense of patience and tolerance, as well as knowledge of what is wrong and right, which they more than likely are still working on doing.

If I were a parent right now, I would definitely not have nearly the freedom that I have right now. I also would be much more stressed. That would make school harder than it already is, and would probably show negative effects in my grades. My focus would no longer be on my best interest, but my child’s and that would be a huge barrier to cross. I know that I personally am not ready to have a child.
How would you handle the financial responsibilities that come with being a parent? (5 points)
I would obviously get a better job, (or at least try), but that is only a small part of overcoming that problem. I would probably try to only use necessary expenses, but as I aid earlier, that is something that even now can be difficult to distinguish from desires. I would have to manage my money more,

What is causing significant amounts of stress on teens, and what are they using to cope? What is the world doing to help them? What can we do to help? Teens are struggling to cope with the complex issues today. But is stress no more than an easy excuse, because teens are handed tasks that they simply don 't want to do? High levels of stress can also be early signs of possible emotional or mental health issues. What can we as a community do to change this large amount of stress put on teens, because they feel like the amount of work given to them is too much, and adults expect too much for them? Probably too many questions here. Keep your intros shorter.
Girls who gave birth while still in high school only 38% of them graduate. The reason the rest of them drop out is since they are forced to work in order to support their child. Nearly all cannot manage parenthood, school, work without family or friends help. With teenage mothers “Their children showed reduced educational attainment, had more emotional and behavioral problems, were at increased risk of maltreatment or harm, and showed higher rates of illness, accidents and injuries.” (Dennison P. 6) Just in the state of Texas, in 2012, there were 44 births per 1,000 girls’ state wide. Nationwide 50% of pregnancies are accidental in 2006. Teen parents also are a financial load to society, According to the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, in 2004, all together taxpayers paid more than eight billion dollars to help support health cares designed to help the 420,000 teenage mothers who gave birth in that year. “results from economic analyses suggest that implementing evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs, expanding access to Medicaid family planning services, and utilizing mass media campaigns to promote safe sex may reduce teen pregnancy and save taxpayer dollars.” (Without the help of drugs like Plan B or any type of birth control, a large amount of teenage girls will become unplanned mothers, making more of a financial burden to society.

In the scholarly paper “Dropping Out of High School: The Influence of Race, Sex, and Family Background” by Russell W. Rumberger, he analyzes the underlying issues behind why students drop out. There is significance behind studying dropout rate, as students that drop out are usually less able than students who graduate high school. Dropouts are more likely to engage in crime, use drugs and/or alcohol, and have earlier marriages. He addresses several issues as to why students drop out as well as differences between why females and males drop out. (Rumberger) Females are more likely to drop out due to marriage and pregnancy while males are more likely to drop out because they do not like school. (Rumberger) This shows immense inequality between the two sexes as men can simply drop out of school because they want to while

Raising a child isn't an easy thing to do. Raising a child while the parents are still in their teens is even harder. Dealing with the day to day chores that involves a baby and trying to work and get an education is very stressful on any teen.
Education is greatly impacted among children with mothers only. In studies involving over 25,000 children using nationally representative data sets, children who lived with only their mother had lower grade point averages, lower college aspirations, poor attendance records, and much higher drop-out rates than students who lived with both parents (McLanahan). McLanahan also states in her book that fatherless children are twice as likely to drop out of school. These figures all lead to the most important statistic—children without fathers are five times less likely to attend college (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services). This stems from a few factors including financial
