Heaven and Hell Everyone has a soul. Every soul has a destiny. In the Bible, God explains that every soul will be judged. God warns mankind that during judgment we will receive a one-way ticket to eternity. The Bible also teaches us that during this life we have two choices. We are granted free will to serve and honor God through Jesus Christ who is in Heaven, or we are free moral agents to choose Satan who will reside in Hell. Heaven is good. Hell is evil. The fact that God created mankind’s soul with an eternal destiny should have a significant impact on our choices and priorities. The benefits and splendor of Heaven are greater than the punishments and tortures of Hell. The Bible describes Hell as a place of darkness, a lake of fire …show more content…
Jehovah is a God of love, peace, mercy and infinite wisdom. The Son, reverently and affectionately known as Jesus Christ, was placed on earth as a propituation for our sins. Jesus Christ was there during the creation of man, and the creation of the universe. God chose to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to save man from permenant self destruction. God gave Jesus earthly parents. They are Joseph and Mary. Mary was a virgin and had never experienced relations with a man. God injected Mary with a seed to form a child (Jesus). Jesus was born in a manger, grew up, and walked the earth with mankind. His assignment from God was to teach mankind about salvation, to serve as a sacrifice for our sins, and to save man from Hell. Mankind could not accept the teachings of Christ and accused Him of being blasphemous. He was later betrayed and sentenced to die on the cross by a jury of His peers. He hung, bled and died. Jesus rose from the grave on the third day with the Power of Heaven in His Hands. The third part of The Trinity of God is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s role is to give God ominipresence. The Holy Spirit allows God to be in all places at the same time, to hear every prayer spoken, and to love His children by name.
In the bible, John 3:1-8 states: “After dark one evening, a Jewish religious leader named Nicodemus, a Pharisee, came to speak with Jesus.” Teacher." He said,
The question of Destiny, “Is there life after Death?”, “What happens to me when I die?” We as Christians believe that there are two outcomes to this question. One is eternal life in Christ Jesus (Heaven) (Revelation 21:1-7) while the other is eternal separation from God (Hell). This is totally dependent on our acceptance of Christ as our Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9).
When God created the universe, he then created humans in His own image. In the beginning everything was perfect. Humans did not know about evil at all until their eyes were opened when they ate the fruit from the tree of life, known as the apple. Once that happened, sin was birthed into us causing us to not only die spiritually, but later experiencing death physically. After us humans die, we either go to heaven or we go to hell for all eternity. Our destiny determines by how we choose to live and what we choose to believe. Our actions should match our beliefs. If we do not believe in God almighty and have faith in his Son, Jesus, then we will go to hell for all eternity.
l. Rastas see Jah as being in the form of the trinity , which is, Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Human nature is the free will of mankind. Free will to do and believe as one pleases is a gift from God. Free will does have consequences that result in the afterlife. Life does not end here as we know it. There is a heaven, which is where all live for eternity, who have followed and obeyed God and his divine word. Hell is a place of eternal punishment for those who reject God and his offer of love, life, and most important of all, the main key, Jesus Christ.
Robert Herrick, an English poet, once said, “Hell is no other but a soundlesse pit, where no one beame of comfort peeps in it.” Picture any type of Hell with relief, happiness, or even the smallest crack of a smile. There is no place. In fact, one can only think of the complete opposite, whether it is a Hell filled with neglect, pain, disgust, or a never-ending life of horror. This is the place created by Dante Alighieri; The Inferno is exactly the type of Hell where no person would want to be. Even those who acted upon the lightest of sins suffered greatly. While each realm contained a different sinner, the punishment that each were forced to face was cruel, repulsive, and sometimes rather disgusting. Through grieving tears without an
In the book When Heaven and Earth Changed Places by Le Ly Hayslip, Le Ly was just one of many peasants trying to survive during war time. Survival meant having to make some hard decisions; decisions that may make peasants go against their roots. However, as we see Le Ly do throughout the book, peasants do not completely abandon their family traditions. Le Ly was very close to her father and kept everything he taught her in mind while she made some difficult choices. "My father taught me to love god, my family, our traditions, and the people we could not see: our ancestors" (ix). With her father's help, she was able to honor her past, provide for her family's needs, and give her son a chance for a better future. If Le Ly was unable to
JW does not believe in the Trinity, much less the Holy Spirit as part of the God-head. The personality and deity of the Holy Spirit is denied.
Each member of the Trinity has a primary function. The Father is the creator, who originates the plan of salvation. The Son is the Redeemer, who provides the remedy for human sin. Lastly, the Spirit, who is the Sanctifier applies this salvation, growing new spiritual life.
Just as Christians believe that God is the Almighty God, Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that God is the Almighty God and His name is Jehovah; hence, “Jehovah’s Witness”. In Psalms 2, we read, “I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to me, ‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you” which is referring to Jesus being the Son of God. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Jesus is the Son of God, but they have no biblical references to prove it in their version of the
With the mention of Hell, flames and spankings lick the minds of children, while adults contemplate the evil ratings of their own soul and the uncertainty approaching them. How uncertain should a person be in considering their afterlife? If a grand god randomly flings humans about, dividing them into heaven or hell, or if he chooses favorites, every cause for uncertainty and fear should remain. However, if the determination of a human’s placement into heaven or Hell was not soley the jurisdiction of a higher being, the question raises to what ability humans have in determining their place in the afterlife, and where does the perfect justice of an eternal God intervene? In God in the Dock, C.S. Lewis writes,“It's not a question of God 'sending'
Paradise Lost by John Milton thrives off the implicit and explicit aspects of Hell offered by the narrator and the physical and psychological descriptions offered by various characters. Their separate perspectives coincide to expose the intentions of Milton and the purpose Hell serves in this epic poem. Each character adds a new element to the physical and psychological development of this alternative world. The narrator and Satan provide the greatest insight into the dynamics of this underworld by attempting to redress the issues of accommodation.
Neil Bissoondath’s “There Are A Lot Of Ways To Die” is the story of a man named Joseph Heaven who has become disillusioned about his homeland. Joseph had grown up on a Caribbean island and later moved to Toronto with his wife. After some years in Toronto they moved back to the island. However, now that Joseph has settled back in he realizes that the island is not how he had remembered it. The story takes place in one day as Joseph wanders around the island thinking about various moments from childhood and memories from his time in Toronto. At the end of the story Joseph makes an impulsive decision to leave the island. The author makes this decision seem plausible by using several different elements.
It is important to note the defined goals of the Trinity. One being that God sent His Son, Jesus did not send God. Jesus tells us in John 6, that He came to do the will of His Father. Jesus was not doing His own selfish will but everything He did was for His Father. Jesus and God sent the Holy Spirit according to Jesus’ words in John 14:26, “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you”. It is necessary to recognize the distinctions of the roles of the Trinity as if the roles were not distinctive there would be no Trinity.
For us Catholics, heaven is a very beautiful and peaceful place. It is also a place where you live an eternity with happiness, and endless love. In heaven it’s a worry free zone. My dad always says it’s a place where there’s no homework, no bills, no worries. Just living in a beautiful place, for all eternity. Hell is a place where no one wants to be, it’s a place where there is a lot of suffering,
The role of the son or Jesus is the savior and teacher. The role of the Holy Spirit is the empowerer and evangelist. All these roles combined equal a mystical element that describes the Trinity or another name is Godhead. To understand the Trinity, God is the sun that shines while Jesus is the rays of the sun and the Holy Spirit is the warmth that is felt from the sun. All personalities are equal and combined together called the Trinity.
