Pharmaceutical drug dependency is not a new craze sweeping the nation. Although it has progressed, it is something that has been a noticeable issue since the early twentieth century. For starters, there is a pill for everything; pregnancy, being over-weight, pain, sneezing, and much more. When you have a variety like that, it’s hard not to take the easy way out. The latest generations of prescription drugs compensate conditions such as depression, gynecological disorders, hyperactivity, impotence, sleeping problems and more. We are waist deep in a pill culture. According to Tennent, a reason for this up-rise in patients being so eager to take up prescription drugs is that new and more sophisticated drugs have reduced the severity of accompanying side-effects. (Tennent) However, this is a gamble and something one could not be sure of. There are medications prescribed for less
The Meatpacking District in Manhattan may be getting some competition: the Mini-Meatpacking District. In a neighborhood that has been not-so-slowly gaining developer interest for some time, Harlem, known for Columbia University and the golden age of jazz, is experiencing the beginning stages of a neo-revitalization of sorts.Though the subdivision of West Harlem has been straddled with the diminutive moniker of “mini”, the emergence of boutiques, trendy restaurants will inevitably cast aside the name. New York’s tax exemption perks to stimulate the district’s development has been the impetus for the influx of an increasing number of working professionals and Columbia University students into the area.
My version of a perfect day is waking up at seven o'clock in the morning. My father and I would go to the "Old Gym" and practice. First, he and I would work on form shooting or what we call "fifties." We would then go over some of my basic ball handling drills such as the zigzag switch, zigzag spin, zigzag behind the back and between the legs. Then we would get on the computer at home and look at the top NBA or WNBA player or players' new line or lines of shoes. Afterwards, we would go to The Outback Steakhouse. Finally, we would go home and take a long, luxurious nap, but, not before saying hi to Mom, Colt, and Braedon.
While on the East side you have the Greasers, who are less fortunate and judge for it. Such as they are thought of as all criminals, and people who are bad to the core. Yet in reality it’s the opposite. S.E Hinton continues to show time and time again through her novel

While appearance vs. reality is a very prominent theme in Boyle’s top of the food chain, it isn't the only one. Boyle offers a much harsher theme, one that our race as a whole tends to deny: the human race is too smart for our own good. He is calling us, for lack of a better term, stupid. The humans use their raw power and technology rather than their intelligence. Boyle proves how we are inferior through a series of comparisons. These comparisons are the Senator Vs. the scientist, the first world country and the third world country, and the humans vs. nature.
The Lower East Side formerly once joined with the East Village is home to many working class families, many of whom are foreign born. Over the past 50 years, this neighborhood has gone through many changes, both negative and positive. Located in Manhattan, the Lower East Side is surrounded by 14th street, the East River, Bowery, and the Brooklyn Bridge. This area today has faced gentrification and has also faced many housing developments that threaten the character of the community. The LES has gone from once considered a slum to be one of the trendiest neighborhoods today in New York City.

One of the best gifts my husband ever bought me was a KitchenAid Pro Series 600 stand mixer. He knew I wanted one but wouldn’t spend the nearly $600 on myself. He researched all the brands and models and settled on one. KitchenAid mixers are excellent to have because of their superior durability, multiple available attachments, time saving ability, and aesthetic appeal. After two years of heavy use I can definitely say it was an exceptional purchase.
