Among a school deluge with a copious amount of student’s, there's me, Caroline Vargas. I was born October 15, 1999, in Palisades hospital; I have lived in West New York my entire life. What makes me drift astray from the sea of students you might ask. Well for starters I excel in many extracurricular activities. Aside from after-school activities, I am a part of the Performing Arts Academy. When I leave high school my goals are to be situated in a college studying to become a professional actor.
Freshmen year I was set on joining every possible club Memorial had to offer. Although all the clubs I signed up for weren’t the best fit for me; I found a few that I can call home. All the clubs I belong to share the performing aspect; they all

I was reluctant in joining the Academy because I was nervous that I wouldn’t get in. But precisely the period before my scheduled audition a ‘frienemy’ encouraged me to try out. I built the courage to walk through the audition doors and left being placed in the intermediate level; which was quite an accomplishment. Since then I have now achieved in reaching the Advance Level of the academy! My favorite memory in the academy is when my second and third period took our first trip to the Manhattan Theater Club in New York City. This trip aided tremendously in team-building and my skills of theater analysis. I am so grateful that I took the plunge and faced my fears because the Performing Arts Academy and Mrs. Baur have made me realize that my true dreams are to become an actor. The Performing Arts floor is a safe haven for many including myself, the people can drive you crazy but that's exactly what families do.
In conclusion, my goals for after graduation are to go study theater and thrive as a successful actor. In the performing arts, I want to study all aspects of theater and film. Which will open up more job opportunities increasing my chances of a successful career. I want to get into New York University Tish school of the Arts. NYU has an amazing theater section though my aspiration in life is to at least get an audition to Juilliard. If I were to get into Juilliard (my dream school) my life would be
The past four years, I have breathed, slept, eaten, thought and immersed myself in all thing pertaining to theatre. This is where I discovered to truly work in a team, where I could be without fear of being something I am not, and where I have found peace in the maddening swirl of day to day life, ironic in the fact that theatre is a hectic world. This world is where I have made my best friends and found people I know I can count on and that I insist can depend on me. If I have learned one thing from my experiences in theatre, it is to strive and achieve
To seek admission into the MFA–Acting program at Yale School of Drama to transform myself into a lifetime actor by working on my physical and vocal instrument at the world-class academy, learning acting techniques, scene study, voice, text, speech, dialects, singing, particularly Alexander technique, in a collaborative, creative and diverse environment.
For my education I would like to become a vet which means I have to get a PHD in vet school. To help me get started next year I will Medical in 8th grade and also take it in high school. If I take Medical next year and find out it is not for me I will try to become a teacher and follow the line of teachers in my family. My grandma, on my mom’s side, is a high school teacher and as you know my mom is the AP at Shivela Middle School, or I will follow my dream in acting as you may know I am in Theatre, and I love it I have been in plays all throughout elementary elementary school I was the main character in my 1st grade christmas play, I was also little miss muffet in my kindergarten play, also I has the sign holder in my after school program play that would introduce each scene like “Twas the Night before Christmas.” Some of my career goals are to be an intern at a local shelter and graduate high school ready to go right into college and know what it would be for like teaching or vet
I knew at a young age I would grow up to become a person who would contribute to society through helping others. Helping others gives me happiness knowing that a person feels better because of my actions. Stockton University will assist me in achieving my goals and obtain a successful career that will help me give back to society.
During my high school experience, I have truly embraced the arts, specifically performing arts. Tri-School Theatre (an extra-curricular, educational theatre program) has been a great opportunity where I have been able to appreciate my talents while learning about theatre with other students. Being an active leader in this program, I constantly collaborate with students for rehearsals and events; after my junior year of high school, I was nominated to be an assistant director for a children’s production, Aladdin Jr. Having much enthusiasm for the arts and promoting theatre at school, I was thrilled with this opportunity. Theatre has strengthened my self-confidence,
It was the winter of 2014 when my mother forced me to go to The Corner Health Center Theatre Troupe. I was livid, and acting at the time was something that I was terrified of. I felt as if I was a bird being pushed from the nest too early. I knew there was no possible way that I could be able to: one, talk to strangers, two, learn a script,
When first starting; theatre only seemed like a hobby. Performing did not sound like an ideal career for my life. Being familiar with performing, joining theatre seemed to be a simple task. Prior to high school, my only experience was a play in middle school, but no performances that made my heart yearn for more. Freshman year, I took theatre as a class, but was not interested in getting involved with events outside of the course. After a year of convincing from my teacher and peers, we settled on an agreement that I would audition for the upcoming show my sophomore year: Tarzan. After auditioning, being cast, and beginning to work with my director and peers, I felt a renowned connection to those around me, and to the art itself. After our first full run of the show, the flame was ignited. There were fireworks; a feeling that had never experienced in all my years of performing. At last, the passion was coming from within. From that point I was excited to watch my theatre career kick off: but that wasn’t the case. That wasn’t the case at
After exploring extracurricular activities my freshman and sophomore year, the abstract beauty of the performing arts enraptured my heart. Keeping theatre in high esteem, I anticipated and prepared for our success in exhilaration. My schedule revolved around our performances, and consequently, I eliminated any conflicts with rehearsals. To ensure the maximum potential of every one of our shows, I allocated all my spare time into productions. I once stayed at school well past 10 at night painting the stage with my director to guarantee we polished our set to perfection. The work ethic I instigated
In high school, I was very involved with the school’s musical theatre program. I loved to act and sing, and I was pretty good at both, but I never got a part better than being in the ensemble. This was because I was not part of the “privileged” group of students.
When the end of summer approached, I believed I was prepared of what 7th grade was going to throw at me. I was wrong. I had tons of homework. School overall was stressful. The best way to solve this problem was to not procrastinate, it was my main goal this school year. Reducing the amount of time playing on electronics would not only make my school life less stressful, but making my parents happier about me not playing as much as I usually do.
In the fall of my junior year I began working with my Dean to form an accelerated Independent Study dedicated to the study of acting and the practice of performance techniques. I continued this Independent Study in my senior year. Since I am pursuing a career in acting, I wanted to devote myself to in depth character analysis, monologue study, and acting methods. I benefited greatly from the one-on-one interaction with my Dean as my director. Not only has she taught acting at MICDS, but she is a working actress. This unique experience allowed me to receive immediate feedback regarding my acting skills, performances, and practice the necessary skill of taking direction. I have not only grown as an actress, but have grown as an individual. I
Although I can’t answer all the questions about how I’ll do it, I’m certain that I will make a positive difference in the world and I am also certain that Barnard College is ideal for me. Barnard’s commitment to intellectual risk-taking and discovery and its joint theatre program are the main factors that influenced me to apply. Barnard is known for its intimate learning environment and embodies qualities that I find attractive and motivating. I’ve spent my entire life going from one close-knit group to the next. Whether it was Taekwondo, Dance, Theatre, or The Commonwealth Governor’s School, each group was empowering, nurturing, and noble in its own way. What I really adore about Barnard’s Theatre program is that it’s a holistic theatre and
I wish to study musical theatre at NYU Tisch so I can learn as much as possible while living in the biggest city in the world, so that when I'm thrown into the musical theatre rat race of New York City I'm better prepared to do my job and inspire others the way so many have inspired me. That's my dream. To one day, get to the point in my career and life where I have the ability to inspire others just by being present onstage and doing my job to the best of my ability. I was once given the advice of, "if you can see yourself being happy doing anything else, than do that," but I don't see myself being truly happy doing anything other than musical theatre. It's my passion, and it has been ever since I was a little girl.
Every year, my school performs a stunning musical, and I wished to be a part of the show, my junior year, but it was too late for me to try out for a part. Therefore, I joined stage crew. Those three months were the best months of that entire year as everyday was full of arduous work, accomplishments, and enjoyment. Even though I was working in the background of the musical, the encouraging attitude of the musical theatre scene, and every person included, brought a sense of joy to me. I will continue with my admiration for musicals by trying out as a dancer my senior year in the
