An accomplishment I am proud of relates to my first year in high school football. The school I went to I started off not knowing nobody besides a few people. My first day of practice I was not this big guy or had this football player image that everyone imagined, so everyone looked over me as just another bench player. Walking into our first meeting I saw a guy standing there and he looked like a senior with arms as big as thors. The first thought that came to my mind was looks like im not starting this year. As practices went on both players and coaches saw my talent and knew I had something to give to the team so the head coach made me a head captain, which only two people could have those spots, of the team and gave me a starting spot. Everyones
My most meaningful accomplishment is finding my inner leader and learning to believe in myself. For many years I was extremely shy and I let this deter me from enjoying activities outside my comfort zone. Growing up I never really believed enough in myself to find my leadership abilities. It was not until early in my college career that I began to truly see my potential. My freshman year of college I began to open myself up to the possibilities around me by joining clubs on campus and making connections with those around me. The one organization that truly changed my outlook forever was Phi Beta Chi National Sorority. Within my sisterhood I began to open up and see myself as the leader I knew I could be. Once I had this new found outlook I
An accomplishment that set my life forward and taught me multiple traits and allowed my character to develop would have to be when I set out, got a job, and saved up enough money to buy my first car. It was a summer I'll always remember. After my sophomore year of high school I set out during the summer and got a job at Glidden Fence Company. I was nervous not working at all previous to working at Glidden and started wondering whether I had gotten too far ahead of myself. I was assigned to a three man crew and started my career as a fence builder, the crew leader was super nice to me and guided me in every step as I began to learn how to do it myself. So long story short I threw myself into a foreign environment unaware of what the
One of the proudest moments in my life is when I hit a homerun that won the game for my baseball team. I just completed the sixth grade and was looking forward to baseball season with my friends that summer. I was so happy we were all on the same team, the Red Wings. I was playing second base, and for the first time, I felt confident about my position. I didn’t let a ball get past me. I was catching and throwing that ball like a pro. In addition, I was hitting balls like never before, and scoring runs for the team. For the first time since T ball I felt like a real star!
One accomplishment I have achieved is making the A team for the united lacrosse travel team. This an important accomplishment because it can help me with academics greatly and can give me options in the future if i decide to keep playing. Another reason why this is an important accomplishment is because lacrosse strengthens my speed, athleticism and coordination. Lacrosse is also my favorite sport to play because I love the physicality of the sport and love evading or running away from players. Lacrosse is important to me because I love playing it and it can help me be more successful in my future
My accomplishments really date back when I graduated from high school. As the youngest of four, you would think I had wonderful romodels guiding me throughout my life and making it easier for me. However, that was not my case. I was actually one of 3 that graduated from high school from my brothers and sisters, and the only one that got accepted to a university. I am now happy to be a jr. at UTEP and be a ro-model from my nephews and nieces. I guess all those challenges really worked in my favor.
It was just another school night in the seventh grade. Our recreational tackle football team had a practice at 730pm until 9. It was a very swampy night and from that I felt myself very sluggish. At the time, I was a backup running back. I was always left on the sidelines facing the chills of the cold wind during games. I typically didn’t get to see much playing time on the field, but that night I got my opportunity. I was receiving kicks during a punting audition and all I was doing was catching the ball and throwing it back, nothing unique. One throw after another, my coach began to praise my arm strength. Seeing me pass the ball was a true eye-opener. That night, I went from a backup running back, to the starting quarterback of my rec
I would like to talk about the accomplishment about baseball. I have played the baseball since I was second grade student of elementary school so I spent almost of all weekend and long vacation for the baseball. During the three years of the high school life, I could appearance for the starting member. First in high school life, my seniors were treating me badly because my position changed after the entrance so I could not play well at third position. I tried to practice harder with friends who support me including some same grade players and other seniors. After that, my skill became better than the first one and I became be able to hit in the game so the seniors became to acknowledge me. During the first-year convention of the baseball, I
I have doubted myself many times through out my life. Students who play any athletic High School sport have most likely doubted themselves before. The fact that there is room for little to no error can cause athletes to doubt themselves on if they can achieve their goals. I know this feeling because I have personally had doubt about achieving my goals in soccer.
My Accomplishment There are many accomplishments I am proud of completing, but the one I most admire myself for is joining Cross Country. I knew that I could run I was just afraid of all the running they did but now that I am in Cross Country I can’t seem to think what my life would be without this sport. I was encouraged to join this sport by my coaches and my parents. They knew I had the ability to complete this goal, but I just had doubt in myself. I believe that every sport takes dedication and my biggest accomplishment is Cross Country.
It was my senior year of high school football and all I could do was sit on the bench with an injury. It was so frustrating because all I wanted to do was be on the field playing with my brothers like I have since freshman year. I was just so happy to be on the field on those Friday nights and just get to play the game made me so happy when I first started playing. Until I got a big head and started thinking about myself and what I was going do that game or how many touchdowns I was going to score that game. I stopped thinking about the team because of my success. I think this might be a lesson I needed to learn and if I did not, I would have had a big head my whole senior year and never would have saw the real reasons why I loved playing
I believe my greatest accomplishment to date has definitely been being accepted into my number one school, Tuskegee University, despite my fears that I would be rejected based on my nontraditional schooling background. It had been a dream of mine since I visited the campus when I was little, a dream that only became stronger as I heard stories about the school from my parents. I had been confident that I would be accepted, but as I grew older and begun to compare my schooling to that of my peers - who attended public school - I began to think that such a dream would not come to fruition. Yes, I could proudly say that I had taken several college courses and I had documents ready to prove that I had learned something if requested, but that didn’t
While an F.F.A. member in high school, I competed in a bow saw competition at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. I won 5th place out of 175 schools. I was really proud of myself for not only placing, but because I set a goal and I accomplished it. Which seems to be something I struggle with.
My single biggest accomplishments that i have achieved, is graduating from middle school and starting a new phase in my life, this is inportant to me because i have turned from a boy to a man. I have also learned priceless lessons and values from the people around me that helped me become who i am. It helped me be defined as someone else and not just a shell of a person going through school, what i do now defines the life i have, and will forever be me. I said goodbye to me elementary and middle school teachers that inpacted my life
The accomplishment that I think that sparked the most realization in me is the Atlas program I was accepted into last year. Atlas means Adirondack Teen Leadership and Services. With Atlas it made me learn team building skills and how to work with people I didn´t know. Atlas also made me realize how much I like helping people. When we did our community service project at the nursing home I loved it so much because we were helping by earning money to buy christmas gifts for all the residents, we wrapped the present and baked cookies for all the staff. It was so much fun just to help the nursing home because most people just ignore the people. Atlas pushed me out of my comfort zone it made me learn more leadership skills and not to be as shy as
My greatest accomplishment thus far, has been getting high grades in college. Accomplishing this required: patience, dedication, tenacity, stamina, and confidence. It took patience because there were long hours that were dedicated to homework and studying. It took dedication because I had to continually tell myself that it would be worth it, even when it was difficult. It took tenacity because I knew that I couldn't accept anything less than my best. It took stamina because there were a lot of late nights and just a lot of time in general to complete everything that was required of me. Lastly, it took confidence because if I didn't believe that I could, it would have made it a million times harder.
