MPHS Should have a longer lunch
How much time do you usually take to eat lunch? A half an hour maybe more? Well, at the Mount Pleasant High School, we get around five minutes. Saying were rushed is an understatement, at the least. The amount of time we get, from the first bell, to the ending bell, we have "20 minute." By the time we actually get to start eating, there's five minutes left. I think the Mt. Pleasant High School should have a longer lunch period, because collectively all around it helps staff and students. Kids would actually have time to eat their food. We students have no time to eat the food we paid for. Because not only do we have to wait in ginormous lines for the majority of the time. There are some of us who have to

It would give the a little space to breathe a minute, and sit with friends. It would take away some of their stress, to sit and talk with some of their friends. Instead of the alternative of sitting there worried over how much time you have, and trying to choke down your food to finish it. Sometimes not even getting to say a word to anyone. Kids already stress enough over their work, and out of school activities, or things happening a home. So why do they need anymore stress? Stress causes kids to do bad academically, because it wears them down, making it hard for them to do their best. Kids might even get a little time to do some of their work at lunch, if given even a little bit of extra time. If you have forgotten an assignment, and you don't have study hall or panther time you're out of luck. Unless you do it at lunch, but with how much time were given now, that would mean giving up eating. I know there are many arguments for saying our lunch should stay short. For instance people might be worried that if we have too much time, we won't use it to be productive or to eat. Well maybe, some kids might abuse it you never know, but should a few kids ruin it for the rest of us? Also i'm not saying we should have an hour and a half lunch, i'm saying, around 45 minutes, to an hour lunch. That gives us some time to relax a little, maybe do work, and to eat our food, without choking on it. Having a longer lunch hour at the Mt. Pleasant
In a recent survey 81% of students reported they were late to class because the passing period was too short and they either had to use the restroom or there class is too far away. Students should be able to have longer passing periods for restroom usage, and to have a little nutritional snack before the next class. If students had more time, they’d have time to get prepared for the next class. Lastly there would be less detention slips given out. Since they are so short students are upset because they are tardy and have to go to detention.
Wandering kids. Bumper to bumper traffic. Drug dealing. Is this the picture drawn when local students have fifty minutes of freedom during lunch to do whatever they please? Students should not be allowed to leave their school campus during lunch. An open campus would lead to truancy, disturb local businesses and neighborhoods, and cause crime.
Here at Hebron we have more than 2000 students on the main campus and our campus is far too small to accommodate that many students at once for lunch. We have very few lunch lines and all the lines are always packed full of people. And a solution to this would be to simply allow students to go off campus for lunch, with restrictions however of course. I believe that only Juniors and Seniors with a car should be allowed to go off campus for lunch. As most sophomores are fairly new drivers and including them would be too much traffic to handle in the parking lots. With the the addition of off campus lunch you would solve a multitude of problems at once and make things easier for you and the school staff.
For many previous years, Anaheim High school has had a couple lunch system changes finally settling on two lunches, both being half an hour long. With both lunches only being half an hour long, for certain, more than one thousand students being in each, imagine the lunch lines! Making line to get your lunch takes already about fifteen minutes, half of a person’s time already, which leaves little time for a student to enjoy their so called meal and free time with friends.Based on other student’s experiences dealing with school lunch, one can rightfully assume that high schoolers would much rather hold in their hunger until after school rather than have the food being provided. There is not a single day that goes by in which a high schooler does not complain about the “worst than jail” food being served to them. This proposal will go into detail about why having an hour off-campus lunch can increase healthier eating habits between the undergraduates of Anahiem High School. In this layout, you will read about the issue of why we believe off- campus lunch would be a healthier choice for Anaheim High school students, you will also encounter our plan of how we intend to carry out this idea, what exactly needs to be done, with the help of who, and so on.
The U.S government recommends students have a minimum of 20 minutes to eat, but by the time they go through the line and find a seat they have a maximum of 15 minutes (Chen). K through 12th graders are showing that they only 7 to 10 minutes to eat there food before they have to return to class (Carpenter). The School Nutrition association study show that students have 30 minutes to eat but receive so much less than
HELP! I'm dying!... because school lunches are cringing! Students should be allowed to leave class during lunch hours, and be trusted to leave and return back in time for their next class. If high schools gave students this right it would teach them how to manage their time wisely and it would help them become responsible. Students who leave campus during lunch are most likely end up going to a local business to get their lunch which is both good for the students and the local businesses. Students with special food allergies could leave campus during lunch and go to their homes and get food they could actually eat and not be worried that their food could have been cross contaminated to something they're allergic to. Students who leave campus during lunch would come back energized and ready for their next classes.
Some of my fellow students at Conroe High School don’t eat lunch in the cafeteria. For instance,I eat lunch everyday in the agricultural shop all the way behind the rotunda at our school, and my fifth period is in the main building upstairs. Because of this, sometimes I have to leave lunch early and don’t get to finish it only to be able to make it back without getting a tardy. Another example would be, the kids that eat in the Music Hall of our school or even a science classroom, and we don’t know exactly when the teachers release from the cafeteria. They get a referral because they were tardy too
A reason why many school districts disagree with open lunches is because it gives the students an opportunity to get into mischief. With the students not supervised by teachers or adult supervision, it gives them the opportunity to do whatever they wanted. In this case students have the chance to do drugs, speed in their cars, and do other unlawfully activities. Also, it gives the student an opportunity to leave school and not come back. I can imagine many students just going home after they had finished their morning classes. Not all students will take full advantage of the privilege to go where they would
There are a variety of restaurants to choose depending on how much you want to spend. Businesses close to school would have to hire more employees to work the lunch rush because there would be many high school customers. This would help the economy. In addition, you can buy a sandwich, which has fresh ingredients, for a similar or lesser price than you would pay at school. Students love to eat.
The students of our school should rally together and hang the cooks in the Cafeteria. Well, maybe that is a little too dramatic, but something has to be done about the school lunch. The stuff that they serve the students is truly awful. Students should not be forced to eat in the cafeteria because the meals are not prepared well, there are foreign objects in the deserts, and many kids have gotten ill after eating certain items.
Picture this: you are in study hall and you come back from Pre-Ap Biology because you needed help. You glance up to look at the clock and remember your Algebra homework, so you have to zoom through it. The bell rings right when you finish! You triumphantly open up your book bag to put it away. Then you spot your wretched English and Spanish homework crumpled up at the bottom. Amidst the fury and anger you realize that you still have an after school tutor meetup. After that, you have to rush to football practice. All of these homework troubles could be avoided if lunch and study hall were a bit longer. There are a ton of reasons that lunch and study hall should be longer, but there are a few critical reasons that you should know about. Study hall and lunch should be longer because people need more time to work and to see teachers for help on work. A reason that lunch should be longer is so that students can have more time to socialize.
Students do not have the time to wait in line for five to eight minutes just to buy lunch in you cafeteria. Most students carry around their books in their bags from previous periods and do not have time to drop off their bags at their lockers. There is simply not enough time suitable for a student to get their lunch and have it comfortably on this campus.
After lunch there is still an hour of school before students take the buses home, but that hour is useless. After lunch students are sleepy and mentally exhausted and suffer from post-lunch syndrome. If students are tired after lunch, most of them will fall asleep in class and not learn anything. That is very bad, especially if they have a class after
If i had to choose whether we get extended time between classes it would be a no. Because the school days would be longer and it would be more of a mess than it already is, the hallways would be more crowded, and it would make it harder for us to get into our lockers.
No one can disagree with me on this. I personally could get almost every kid and every teacher in Snow Canyon Middle School to sign a petition saying that they want a longer lunch hour. Why cant we all just be happy, and have a longer lunch hour? Is that just too much to ask? I wouldn’t think so. It’s only a few more minutes. Who is that going to hurt? And if it does hurt anyone then what would it do to them? Everyone should just get their way, and have a longer lunch hour. If you think about it, it’s more of a holy hour. Time away from everyone and everything. How great life would be with that holy hour. That is why we should have a longer ‘holy hour’. So everybody who is anyone
