You know the kids that are just athletically inclined? Yeah, that's not me, but despite my lack of natural talent I wanted to be a volleyball player with everything in me. So I tried out for the 7th grade team and ended up making it, I should probably mention everyone did, but man was I excited. The excitement tapered off as I sat most games or even worse, went into the game and made a fool of myself. But for some reason I loved the game and all I wanted was to be a high school volleyball player.
Middle school past, and my time on the court was little to nonexistent. But I wanted to be a high school volleyball player. I started doing camps, joined a club team, and at night would pass the ball with my wall for hours, which made my sister
It all started when i was in fourth grade. It all changed what inspired me came by whole big dream that i wanted to be successful at. I was at school just a normal day, and it was times to go to PE, and my coach got out a circular ball that i had never seen in my life. It was kinda colorful, it had some weird word written on it, but i couldn't see from where i was standing. My coach handed us each one of these balls, and coach called them volleyballs. My coach told us what to do and what not to do, so i was at this net, and just gave the ball a high five because that's what he said to do. Coach came over to me, and kinda directed me through and told me it was called a serve. That day i went home thinking about it, and i decided i want to do
Ever since 8th grade, I have worked hard a lot more when I play volleyball. Right when the varsity coaches asked me to join their practice, I knew that I had to work hard and that it will pay off. Now, at every practice, I would play my heart out even if I was playing with a fractured finger or a rolled ankle.
I started playing volleyball in 6th grade. My friend Abagail had wanted me to play for our school, so she would have one friend on the team. From there I wasn’t sure if I wanted to play volleyball. I had never watched volleyball and never played it either.
Volleyball is a very important part of my life. This year I was team captain of the JV team for the second half of the season. I enjoyed mentoring the underclassman on our team and encouraging them to be the best they can be. I was also willing to step up and fill in for the statistician when asked.
Seventh grade I played in the gym only but every time a coach looked I played my best if I had the ball. When it came to tryouts I tried my best, but when the results were posted I didn’t make it. But a after lunch 3 on 3 tournament was about to happen and I was put on a team a very bad team to add that. I did not care because for the first time in a while now I get to play semi for real. I was happy once again
High school sports are a good pass time for high school kids, it keeps some out of trouble or gets kids out of the house. On the other hand high school sports have gotten very serious, instead of just having fun. It’s turned into if you don’t win then what’s the point, it not for the fun. It’s been drilled into everyone heads that they have to be a really good player and their only way they’re getting into college is through sports. Everyone dream is to play for a division I team, which that’s not a bad goal to have but in reality not every athlete can go division I. High school athletes have this mentality that they have to win all the time or be the best they put a lot of pressure on themselves. Not in all cases but, if someone wants to
“What’s in the Name of High School Football,” “Are High School Sports Good for Kids,” and “a video Kids and Sports” all include writing about if school sports are good, harmful to students, or affect education purposes. “What’s in the Name of High School Football” talked about how sports programs took over the school newspaper, morning announcements, and all of the money. Money and fairness were not distributed well between sports and other programs. “Are High School Sports Good for Kids” talked about if sports were hurting some students education and what other people were doing to benefit that. The video talked about how sports were helping the kids that had trouble making friends or just weren’t social at all. All three resources have good facts and opinions about school sports, however, I feel all schools should keep funding school sports. I think this because sports help social life, takes stress off kids, and it gets everyone involved.
When I was in 6th grade I tried out for O.V.A. (volleyball) for the first time. From doing it I learned that when you put your heart into something you will accomplish it.
I started playing volleyball in 1st grade on the CEGCYRA teams here in Eureka. I immediately had a connection between the competition and just having fun with my friends. One time I remember playing a game where the ball went into the net and I got it, then Ashley Leman got it back up. It did not go over but when you were in 1st grade and got the ball out of the net, it was a big deal. I feel like I can remember every detail of that game for some reason and don’t know why. I play volleyball here at the middle school and we are doing pretty
I have been playing volleyball for as long as I can remember. From playing in club volleyball tournaments in the spring to bumping the volleyball around in my living room, I spend most of time playing or practicing for a sport. Most people believe that the only reason kids play sports is because they have athletic skill. I believe that playing a sport is more than just becoming the best player physically, but becoming the best player that your team needs you to be.
Since homeschooling families pay taxes, why do some states prohibit homeschoolers from participating in public school sports? Currently, states are split on this issue. Just recently, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Indiana have changed their rules to allow homeschooler participation, while Virginia has declined to allow it. In reference to homeschooled athlete Tim Tebow, state legislation encouraging participation is often called a “Tebow Bill.” Tebow attended the University of Florida on a football scholarship and went on to win the Heisman Trophy while playing football for the Gators.
I started playing volleyball in 3rd grade. My dad wanted me to play because my sister also played. It was my first day being a 3rd grader and my dad told me I should get into volleyball. From there I wasn’t sure if I wanted to play. I watched my sister play every game and it looked like it was hard so I didn’t think I could do it.
The whole team and I had practice every day in the afternoon, and I was excited to learn and play every day. Time to time I was seeing some results like: I could serve, bump, and hit. I was thrilled to play, and obviously be around with my friends. It was the moment I got super into volleyball, that I couldn 't wait to touch a ball. Everyone told me that I improved so much, and that I should never quit.
I first started playing volleyball at a very young age. I was in the seventh grade when my volleyball career started. My sister started playing in the seventh grade and I just wanted to follow her footsteps. My seventh grade year was ok because I had just started out and really didn’t know the game. There was A team and a B team, where A team was better than the B team. I tried my best to be on the A-team, but guess where I ended up, on the B team.
As my heart grew for the love of volleyball, I took my talents to harder competition, Great Lakes at the end of my sixth-grade season. This is a very well-known team and they are very superior at volleyball. That was one of the scariest tryouts I have ever attended because there were over three hundred girls trying out for the volleyball team! The first thing everyone was tested on was "hitting". Every girl got in a line and tried their best to hit the ball over the net. Well, I was still in sixth grade at the time along with many other girls and most of us were all still fairly short. I was the next girl in line to hit, I had butterflies in my stomach like no other. I walked up to the ten-foot line and did my approach. Boom! The ball goes screaming over the net! I never knew I had such great power in my arm. Next up in line was the girl behind me her name was Megan, she was also short. Megan goes up to the line and swung at the ball but missed. The girls in the gym were laughing at her because the ball went under the net instead of going over. Suddenly
