Stasis Dermatitis
Dermatitis is redness, soreness, and swelling (inflammation) of the skin. Stasis dermatitis is a long-term (chronic) condition that occurs when veins lose the ability to pump blood back to the heart (poor circulation). It causes a reddish-purple to brownish scaly, itchy rash that is usually found on the lower legs. The rash comes from the pooling of blood (stasis).
CAUSES
This condition occurs because the veins do not work very well or because pressure has increased in the veins.
RISK FACTORS
This condition is more likely to develop in people:
• Who are not very active.
• Who stand for long periods of time.
• Who have veins that have become enlarged and twisted (varicose veins).
• Who are obese.
• Who have

• Slowly developing brown marks.
• Skin that is easily irritated or cracked.
• Skin that is swollen or red.
• Achy or heavy feeling when you are on your feet for long periods of time.
• Pain.
Later and more severe symptoms of this condition include:
• Skin that looks shiny.
• Small, open sores (ulcers).
• Skin that feels hard.
• Severe pain.
• Difficulty walking.
DIAGNOSIS
This condition is diagnosed with a medical history and physical exam. You may need to see a skin specialist (dermatologist). Other tests may be done, including:
• Blood tests.
TREATMENT
Treatment for this condition includes:
• Cortisone creams and ointments.
• Medicine to reduce swelling in the legs (diuretics).
• Compression stockings or an elastic wrap.
• Antibiotic medicines, if there is infection. These may be creams or ointments or taken orally.
• A bandage (dressing).
In severe cases, a wrap that contains zing and gelatin (Unna boot) may be applied. Treatment will also address any underlying conditions.
HOME CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Skin Care
• Moisturize your skin as needed. A moisturizer that contains petroleum jelly is best for keeping moisture in your
The most common symptom of this condition is pain that occurs during activity. Other symptoms include:
If over-the-counter medications do not alleviate the symptoms, it is best to schedule an appointment with a physician. During your appointment, the doctor will search for raised, red scales with well-defined edges. Your doctor will prescribe medication in which he or she thinks will treat the rash. If there are no results, then the rash will be further diagnosed. If the skin appears thicker and seems to be inflamed, psoriasis may be compared to eczema (National Psoriasis Foundation, 2016).
While life-style causes may be considered preventable, it may not be easy or practical to change your occupation. People who stand for many hours during the course of their work such as nurses and teachers may be more prone to spider veins because the veins in the legs have to work so much harder to get the blood back to the heart. It is also the case for people who sit for long hours because the circulation may be blocked and the blood pressure in the legs builds up causing spider veins.
Vitiligo has two classes which are the Integumentary and Dermatological. What happens during this disease will make you feel very lucky to have the same skin color, the people that have Vitiligo are the ones who have different splotches of skin color. This disease is caused by the loss of dead melanin cells which stops the production of skin pigmentation. The symptoms of the disease is the discoloration in the eyes, arms, legs, other parts of the body. The worst symptoms are hearing loss and a bigger chance of getting skin cancer. Like the other two diseases that I have researched, Vitiligo does not have a definite cure. There are treatments that you can purchase to help slow down the discoloring development skin graphing and different types of light therapy. One of the most famous cases of Vitiligo is a celebrity who had it was Michael

• You have a medical condition that increases your risk of infection and you have any cuts, sores, or bruises on your feet.
It is important to get treatment as soon as possible. Treatment will include medicines. You may also be given antibiotic medicines. You may also have supportive care, such as:
Early treatment can include antibiotics, topical steroid creams, and antibiotic creams. Incision and drainage of stage 1 abscesses is often done. Steroid medication injected directly into an abscess can reduce inflammation as well as oral steroids. Women are often prescribed birth control pills as a form of hormonal therapy to suppress flare ups. TNF inhibitors such as infliximab and adalimumab have positive results in some patients. Pain medication is often prescribed if over the counter medications are not effective. Surgery may be considered depending on the stage of disease. Surgical removal of lesions and skin grafting of affected areas may be necessary in cases of extensive, persistent scarred lesions. This surgery is extensive because not only must the skin containing the lesions be removed, but wide margins around the affected area must be removed as well (Robert Lee, National Organization of Rare Diseases, 2012). One common misconception is that surgery will eliminate the disease. Even removal of the entire effected area and skin grafting may not be 100% effective. Some patients prefer natural medicines which can include supplements such as zinc and vitamin A, vitamin D, and turmeric. Cannabis oil has also shown promise, however due to legal issues is often
Varicose veins are typically seen in patients on their legs and thighs, though it could appear on any part of the body. This condition is typically caused by the valves within the veins becoming weak.6 Normally, these are one-way valves allowing for blood to flow to the heart and preventing backward flow of blood. If the valves become weak, blood will leak backward and begin to “pool” creating pressure that enlarges and bulges the vein.5
The skin disease scabies which is also called the seven year itch is very uncomfortable if you have it you itch. This disease is caused by the human itch mite a parasite so tiny the human eye can barely see it. When you are sleeping the female itch mite is wide awake. She burrows just under your skin to deposit a lot of eggs leave her feces and irritate your skin. Fortunately however, the disease can be treated with parasite killing skin ointments. If you no people with scabies tell them to keep their hands off of everyone their disease is highly
If the condition is mild, treatment may not be needed. You may be advised to take pain medicine and apply heat to the affected area. A more severe infection can be treated with antibiotic medicine. People with immune system problems will usually be treated with antibiotics because they are at risk for developing a severe infection. This includes people with HIV or AIDS, with an organ transplant, or who take medicines that may modify their immune system.
You should consult a Dermatologist when the symptoms of disease is affecting either skin, nail, hair, scalp or mucous membrane. They can also be visited if you have any concerns regarding your appearance of skin, nails, and hair.
According to John’s symptom and lifestyle, the blood in his vessel must be malfunctioned, which I suppose is vein. The reason why vein is involved is because John has some pain in the lower part of his left leg, and its looking a little red, swollen and feels warm to the touch. It could be the inflammation that due to one or more blood clots in a vein. Similarly, thrombophlebitis causes pain; irritation also may block blood flow in the veins. Besides, thrombophlebitis usually occurs in leg veins, but it may occur in an arm.
