Advertising is an effective way to promote a product, but only if the advertisers can create an advertisement that can catch the attention of the others and leave an impact on them. Advertisement images are different depend on the styles of the producers and the purposes of the products; however, they all need to have the linguistic message and the visual image to guide the viewers into the right directions. Besides this, the advertisements should be fitting into the country’s events or historical circumstances to be more effective. Besides being known for its delicious spicy food, beautiful islands and beaches, and dazzling Buddhism gold statue, Thailand is also being known for child prostitution. According to ECPAT, in 2009, there are about 30,000 to 40,000 children being involved in child prostitution (5). This is the reason why a Thailand agency, Hakuhodo Bangkok Remix Studio, released its advertisement for a floor cleaner in March, 2013 (6). Its synergy of the text, image, and kairos reveal its main purposes: showing the effectiveness of the product, and raising awareness for one of the world’s biggest problems, child prostitution.
