How have I contributed to my School and Community? I’ve contributed in many ways for the school, but, not as much as I do for my community. I have done things for my community and my school that didn’t even have to do because I just wanted to. I’ve done more community things than did for my school. For example, last march, I participated in the school's talent show. I helped with the costumes, helped paint, and picked songs (for me). With the paint, we all helped make these buffalo like costumes, also my Mom helped me make This magnifying Giraffe costume. This is why I have done little for my school. That's one reason how I helped Contribute with the school talent show. I’ve still have done more community things than I did for my school. …show more content…
There is actually a lot of things that I have done, but, not as important as the ones i'm about to tell you. I’ve mowed the grass the grass for people on my street. I have had to mow my neighbor's yard. This is because his back was hurting and he asked me if I could do it when I wasn't busy. This is one reason how I helped with the community. Another reason that I have helped with the community is during the cold winters we have here in Ohio, I shovel people's driveways, sidewalks, and porches. I have done these things without even asking and I did it just because I felt like it. I did another favor for my neighbors by also doing their whole driveway. I even did a lady that lives across the street from me because I felt like being nice and productive. this is another reason how and why I helped with the community I have done a lot of other things but, there is one more main reason on how I helped both, the school and community. last year, when I was in the 7th grade, I signed up for a community service in Mrs. Huggins class to feed and serve the elderly. We helped pass out food, serve them drinks, clean and put away dishes, and after that, we got rewarded pizza. This is the last main reason how and why I helped with the
In regard to community, I have volunteered for my clubs, DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), BPA (Business Professionals of America), NTHS (National Technical Honor Society), Cross Country and others. From helping the club itself to representing the club through charitable acts, such as making christmas a little better for military families, or helping at assisted living centers. My parents taught me at a young age how to be a considerate
As surprising as it may sound, I have been doing community service since the sixth grade and it is a new experience each time. It all began with a community clean up known as 'Keep McAllen Beautiful' as we got there everyone seemed excited to be there. It was beautiful to see such unity inside of my community, and I decided from then on that I would like continue helping out where it is needed. As I joined the National Honor Society my chances of providing my services increased, and I decided that I would assume a position of leadership when needed. I became the society's president, which allowed me to develop my time management skills, creativity, and efficiency. I organized an fundraiser for the hurricane Harvey disaster victims where all
Moreover, I often volunteer to do service in my community. I have been doing volunteer work for Walk for Hunger since from 2011. Also I participate many times in school food bank, which school donates food to families who need help. It was a wonderful experience because I was able to help out my community in a positive way. I like to be there for people who are in need because it shows people that I am a caring and loving them.
I volunteered taking care of children, at a recreation center, where parents couldn’t afford expensive day care. I spent time at feral cat clinics to help reduce the overpopulation of cats. I began volunteering at three square and placing applications to help hospitals and soon plan to spend time with soup kitchens and homeless shelters. Through my community service I learned to communicate better, take on leadership roles and earned life changing opportunities along the way. Through volunteering I grew as a person, I matured, learned responsibility, and realized what I wanted to do with my life.
Since I was five years old I would always give my community a help hand, whether in beautifying my community by planting flowers, or by volunteering at local places. From the ages from five to ten my after school program would go around the neighborhood to plant flowers. In my town library I donated my time to help the children with hands-on activities to promote original ideas such as creating objects with everyday items. I have also volunteered a total of 36 hours for the American Cancer Society.
Over the past year, I have served my school and community in many different ways. Whether it be through volunteering or participating in organizations that work to make changes in the lives of others. I try to stay involved in my environment. Currently, I am a student at Rockford Lutheran High School. With the multitude of clubs, my school offers, I am able to interact with other club members to promote student participation. Every year we participate in drives and fundraisers. In Key Club, each year we put together solider boxes. We collect a variety of small items and send hand packaged boxes to our fighting soldiers, as a gift for christmas. Other drives that I partake in are the canned food drives for the local food pantries, and the clothing drives to give winter clothing to those less fortunate. This helps to provide this vulnerable population with warmth during the cold winter months.
I have helped out at the Science Works Night at Oak Ridge Elementary. I have helped at Sartell’s spring Funfest. I have done roadside clean up along River road. The road side clean up was a nice experience to be able to be to help clean up our community and help the environment.
I do many service activities for the betterment of my community and some examples are for instance in Texas for 5 years I volunteered at the Salvation Army during the holidays to pass out toys, clothes and food to families in need. I helped organize a breast cancer awareness fundraiser where we helped kids build box cars, sell raffle tickets, and barbecue to raise awareness and bring a twinkle of hope and happiness. I also regularly volunteered at the Shade Tree woman’s shelter here in Las Vegas. It gives me great joy that I can give my energy and time to those who are going through dark times with comfort and support they are yearning for.
I am a member of National Honor Society. We volunteer and help people in anyway we can. So far I have about 20 hrs of community service. I helped my teacher moved everything in his class during the summer. I helped an old woman raked leaves in her backyard. I volunteered to assist my high school's registration. I lend a hand to elementary school children and basically played and watched them. I assisted a youth wrestling tournament. There are many more services in which I hoped to help out.
There are many ways to give service to your community. I have had many opportunities to do a part of my community service work. For example, I have participated in many fundraisers for good programs and causes, such as a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the Ocean City Intermediate School Music Program, where I had the privilege to serve others on behalf of my music community. On another occasion, I have helped set up for a fundraiser to raise awareness about the Holocaust, specifically the children that lost their lives in the Holocaust. I have also done performances for nursing homes during the holidays.
I do quite a vast amount of community service because I enjoy it. Last year I did some community service for the school bond, but also did tons of work for the North West Washington Fair, building and putting together the Small Animal Experience. The Small Animal Experience is place for families to see a variety of animals in a clean safe environment. Our goal last year was to make a better entrance and to make it more enjoyable for the visitors.
Service in the school and community is an insight to your character and work ethic. I have over 20 hours of community service from many different experiences. Last summer I worked for Camp Barakel, a summer camp, in the kitchen. I assisted in serving food and cleaning. I learned discipline and teamwork through this valuable experience. Not only this I’ve worked with the Elderly in Rehabilitation centers and the patience and nurturing qualities is something that will forever be valuable in my life. Last but not least working as Big Sister or Buddy to a 4th grade girl has given me the chance to positively impact and influence her life as simply as having a friend is immense. All of these service opportunities as added to my character and prepared me for the responsibilities of
During the my sophomore year of high school, I decided to join a club at my school name Intercat. Intercat is a great way to help out in my community and my school. Over the time I contribute a positive change in my school by joining the Teen Suicide Prevention and Awareness which we learn how to help someone out if we notices that they are going to a hard time. In my community I have done Feeding America, Keeping Moreno Valley Beautiful, Rotary Thanksgiving Dinner, Ride Moval, Helped out the Senior Center cleaning, The Springtastic Festival, I helped out with the Senior Citizen Prom and a lot more.At the end of my sophomore year I did 84.5 hours of community services. I loved helping out so I did it again, my junior year during for school
Due to my involvement in my school, I have a plethora of opportunities that affect my community. As a member of the National Honor Society, we stay involved in activities that benefit our chapter and Walkerton itself. For instance, we annually undergo a food drive at our school in order to supply food for the people in the community. Then we transport the food to the food pantry and once every month we take turns to distribute the food to the people who need it. This distribution we do for the community aids the people in need as most people receiving the food are unable to transport the food themselves. Alongside the food drives, I spend hours of volunteering for concessions, tutoring students after school, and aiding for the band teacher.
While in high school, I have been able to give back to my community through my
